Digimon PartnersWhen registering your tamer account on Crosswire Server you get to pick a team of three Digimon. Yes, that is right, three! This is what sets us apart from the rest of the Digimon sites since instead of following the anime we are more in tune with the Digimon games. So you get to pick any three Rookie Digimon below to register as your team. Choose wisely because those are the three that your character will have for life for there is no changing, trading or gaining more Digimon down the line. Now here is the catch: each Rookie Digimon below is ranked by Points from 1 through 5. When you pick your three Rookies the total amount of points of the three Rookies summed together cannot exceed 9 points. Also you must pick three Digimon. You cannot pick two 4 Point Rookies and be done, you must have three Digimon. So you could have two 4 Point Rookies but then you have to pick a 1 Point Rookie as your third. You could also do three 3 Point Digimon or a 4 Point, 3 Point and a 2 Point and so on and so forth. The sum can be under 9 points if you so desire, such as if you pick two 3 Point Rookies and a 2 Point Rookie which is only a total of 8 Points, that is fine. Heck you could pick three 2 Point Digimon or three 1 Point Digimon if you so desired, just anything under and up to 9 Points. Get it? Got It? Good.
Note that while we will never ban any of the rookies below even if a large amount of one type is picked, we will try to discourage them by moving them up in the points. As of right now, every time a rookie is picked 5 times it will shift up 1 point. This will not affect anyone whom has already chosen the rookie and thus will not affect their 9 point system. Experience for DigivolutionsWhen it comes to Digivolution we use Experience Points exclusively on this site. We don't use crests, spirits or anything like that, you must simply just earn the necessary amount of Experience Points for the next level. Once you have done this you can claim the Digivolution for one of your Digimon in the Experience Exchange. It must be approved of by a staff member though. Because of this we do not ask you to make a predetermined Digivolution Line since we will have to accept each Digivolution you earn and claim. The only levels that don't require Experience are that of Rookie and below. So for baby and in-training level it is completely up to the role player on how they deal with that. Likewise for Rookie, all of your Digimon can start in rookie form if you wish and rookie form is automatically permanent if you desire as well. The only time you actually have to exchange experience for Rookie level is when you are reclaiming it after your Digimon's data has been previous destroyed (reverted back to an egg, read more in the Digital World Feature thread). Experience Points are shared between your three Digimon, thus you can decide which one Digivolves first. All Digimon must be at the same level before you can advance to the next. Meaning before one of your Digimon can Digivolve into the Ultimate Level all three of your Digimon must be at the Champion Level first. This is to avoid individuals trying to focus on just one or two Digimon. Also only one of your three Digimon can reach the Mega level. The other two can only reach the Ultimate Level at max unless of course they DNA/Jogress into the next level. Accepted and Declined DigivolutionsThe staff has the right to accept or decline any Digivolution that we see fit. Even if DMA or another resource site says a Digimon may be able to Digivolve into a certain Digimon we may decline it. For example, Neemon can apparently Digivolve into Angemon along with several other very good Champion Level Digimon even though it only counts as a 1 Point Rookie in our system so we may decline such a Digivolution. At the same time we may accept Digivolutions that are not recorded on resource sites. For example, Kokabuterimon does not have Kabuterimon listed as a possible Champion. However we may allow it simply because it makes sense, this goes for all Digivolution lines. They either have to make sense or follow a resource site, bottom line is staff must approve.
Note that we also may decline a Digivolution if too many individuals have already claimed that Digimon for their line. We will be keeping track with a Digimon census of which Digimon have been selected and how many times. You can find this in the post below this one. Plot-Based Digivolution RequirementsBesides just Experience Points it also may be required that the specific Digimon you wish to Digivolve have some sort of in-character or plot-based reason to Digivolve rather than just magically gaining it. So while you exchange Experience Points for the right to achieve a Digivolution you may not actually unlock it until the right moment in role play, such as in a battle. Turn it into a moment for character development and have fun with it. The staff will work this out with you upon accepting the Digivolution. For each Plot Arc of the site we will also establish a Level Cap, such as stating that no one can currently achieve beyond Champion for the current Arc. This is to prevent over leveling for plot events as well as try to create a more relaxed environment so we don't have an 'arms race' for a higher level. It also gives new members a bit of a chance to catch up, at least in level but not in Experience. Once you reach the level cap you will still accumulate experience which can then be used to unlock higher level Digivolutions in later Arcs where the cap is raised.
There also may be other side requirements such as for DNA/Jogress. For DNA/Jogress the two Digimon must have some kind of bond in which case is no problem if you own both Digimon but it gets a bit more complicated if you wish to DNA Digivolve one of your Digimon with someone else's. One thread together is not really gonna cut it in terms of a strong enough bond to pull it off. Recolored and Custom/Original DigimonHere on CrossWire we do NOT allow non-canon Digimon. That means no original created Digital Monsters, sorry. We do however allow you to customize your Digimon to be unique as long as you stay within reason. For example, we do allow the creation of custom techniques for Digimon since not all of them have many listed and those that do tend to not be all that detailed. However, custom techniques must be logical and somehow fit with the Digimon's known or suggested abilities.
We also allow slight modifications to a Digimon's appearance such as a scarf for an accessory, a scar, or even a different color than the generic color of that species. There are actual canon recolors after all, so we will allow you to pick and choose from recolors that have already officially appeared or you may customize with your own recolor. However, despite the recolor the Digimon must still retain similar abilities as the default color of its species. The attribute can however change with the recolor. So if for example the Digimon is originally Vaccine but you decide to have it as a recolor then you could change the attribute to another such as Data or Virus. Attributes don't play a huge part on the site so that would be fine. Armor/Spirit/Bio-merging/X-AntibodyWhile we don't have Armor Digi-Eggs on the site for Armor Digivolutions you can still have your Digimon Digivolve into what may be considered an Armor Digimon for their Champion Level in their evolution line. For example you could have a Veemon who you want to naturally Digivolve into a Flamedramon rather than another Champion of choice and then Flamedramon would Digivolve into an Ultimate from there, thus virtually being treated like any other Champion. There are only a couple of exceptions such as the two Golden Armor Digivolutions. Same goes for Digimon that may require Spirits or anything like that, just ignore any item requirements and you can access those Digimon normally. Of course these will be regulated by staff.
As for Bio-Merging, well for right now it's not something we wish to include on the site. It's a touchy subject much like that of Spirit Digivolution where humans actually Digivolve into Digimon. Bio-merging is of course a tamer and Digimon Digivolving together into one being. Later down the line we may introduce it during some arc in the plot, same goes for Armor Digivolutions for that matter.
X-Digivolutions are allowed, but only if the Rookie you started out with was an X Digimon themselves or a natural holder of the X-Antibody. This means you cannot Digivolve into an X-Digivolution if your Digimon does not contain the X-Antibody. However, if you have a Digimon with the X-Antibody you can Digivolve into a Digimon that does not have it. That is fine and acceptable. Banned Digimon/DigivolutionsThere are some Digimon/Digivolutions that we have banned and they are listed below. We may add more to the list as we go along. This is simply because we believe it would be hard to regulate these Digimon in role play and also because they are very unique and usually heavily plot based. A lot of them are just simply too huge to work with, may be used for transportation purposes only, or basically listed as gods amongst Digimon. There is also a list of Digimon that can only be reached through Jogress/DNA, this is in order to prevent someone having a Digimon considered more powerful than the average mega in their normal line.
