HISTORY OF Ryan Shephard
Ryan was born and raised within Lawrence, Kansas. Other than the fact that his father cheated on his mother when he was still just an infant, that's pretty much the end of the list of his personal tragedies. Despite his parents not being together and his father never being around as he grew up, Ryan still experienced a rather normal childhood. He was raised and cared for by his mother and the rest of her family living there in Kansas. So while he did not have a father, he had a couple of uncles and aunts that were there for him along with his grandparents. In fact, Ryan was rather spoiled as a child due to him being the only child in the family. He was loved and well cared for. His family was always there for him every step of the way, even helping him advance in school as he developed into a very bright young student.
In school he found that he had a thirst for knowledge as he was rather curious and had a lot of questions that he wanted answers to. At the same time he was aiming to please and was looking for praise. It lead him to being quite the perfectionist, however, this also made him rather frustrated since being completely perfect was impossible. His teacher even noted this concern to his family about the levels of stress that were weighing down upon Ryan and his strive to go above and beyond. Perhaps it would have been better for the teacher to have kept his mouth shut, for now Ryan was no longer the one hundred percent student as he reached the middle levels of school. His work suffered as he started to grow bored with it all, no longer finding it interesting or challenging. Slowly the happy and socializing boy started to retract within himself as he started to bottle things up.
As he grew older his eyes were only opened to the world even more and he realized how ignorant and naive he had been. Even though he was raised to be religious like the rest of his family, Ryan developed a very opened mind and eventually became agnostic, he found it extremely arrogant and ignorant to completely side with one view or belief, especially when it came to both religion and politics. While he never told his family it was obvious to him that he thought differently, he felt like his eyes were open while they still blindly followed like so many others. It was almost sickening to him the way things were done and how the world was, yet he was just another person with an opinion and no way to do anything about it. He kept his mouth shut and blended into society.
The internet had become his escape along with video games. He became rather good at video games and soon his affinity for the internet also lead him to learning how to code and program. In high school he took classes in both web design and development as well as computer programming classes. The syntax of coding was so logical once you learned it so he was quite efficient and gifted at it. Once he graduated from high school he even went on to college to advance his studies and knowledge. However he could never see himself sitting in a cubicle somewhere and typing up scripts and codes for a large company, he always pictured himself doing his own thing...even if that was practically impossible when it came to gaming.
When CrossWire started to spread the word of the new advances in technology and the upcoming Digimon Game with an experience like never before, well Ryan just had to be a part of it. The only problem was that he did not have an absurd amount of money to pay for a pass, his only option was to apply as a beta tester through interview and other trials since he did not believe in relying on the luck of a lottery drawing. The chances of winning the lottery was astronomical after all. So it was by showing his knowledge with computers programming and design along with his passion for both video game design and the Digimon video game franchise that CrossWire actually ended up selected him as one of the initial beta testers.
RYAN SHEPHARD'S HOME SERVER
« 5550 »This home server has a very futuristic look to it. Instead of actually modernizing the look and layout of his home, Ryan has kept it on a grid. A grid of glowing blue lines trace the walls, ceiling and floor of this home server. Objects and furniture that were created from the grid stick out in their three-dimensional forms, however they keep the basic colors of the blue and the different shades of grey. It's a simple yet wondrous layout that keeps to its data roots rather than mimicking that of the human world.
