Rules: 3v3. Bonni's team makes first attack (however, I would prefer for introductions to be out of the way first.)
Arena: The Triple Tier. A mostly flat fighting arena surrounded by pillars. A small, somewhat deep pit sits in the arena's center, small enough for a 1 vs. 1 skirmish. The pillars are close enough to hop between for more sky-based brawling.
Richard whistled quietly to himself as he stood in the arena, waiting for a challenger. Oblivious as always, or simply uncaring, to the actions of his team, right now he was stuck inside of his own little world. Thoughts flew through his head at lightspeed as he wondered what kind of opponents he would find today. A graceful yet dangerous lord of the sky? A brutal dinosaur, rending into his foes with great force? Maybe a slippery trickster who could tie his entire team in knots when they weren't looking? In his short time here he had many times witnessed the awe-inspiring strength of Digimon. So powerful, so majestic, so deadly . . . it was something he knew he could never witness outside of the game, and it made him only want to remain in it more. But what did he have? Dean seemed pretty strong, and was obviously the team ringer. But did he have to be so much of a loner? With his prickly disposition and his self-inclined nature, he seemed like he would be the first to strike it out on his own if things got bad. For a soloist champion he was great, but as part of a team he just didn't pull his weight. Frankie, on the other hand, was definitely more of a strategist. He had a pretty good head on his shoulders and had a lot of pull on the team, but in a fight what could he do? He was smaller than the palm of Richard's hand! A good distraction, maybe, but useless in a brawl. Then there was Sammy. The look of madness in his eyes freaked Richard the heck out, but his total disinterest in proving his abilities made him an enigma. Maybe he'd finally learn a thing or two today. Either way, though, this was a disappointing bunch. Too madcap, too fractured, and too ineffective to be that great a set of tools. That's what they were, after all. Fragments of data to escort him from place to place and fight for his amusement. Nothing more than really fancy NPCs. He saw some treating them like a surrogate family of some sort and could never comprehend it. They weren't autonomous. They weren't real. They couldn't even feel, except when a subroutine told them to! They were all the fancy toys of some overly-ambitious programmers, and while they were very impressive they weren't any more real for it. And right now he wanted to see if the toys he got were any good or not. Until a challenger came, though, he remained waiting there. His foot tapping to a melody only he knew, his Keramon orbiting around him in frantic circles, and his other two Digimon relaxing in the shade.

This was going to be her... third match within the Coliseum since she entered CrossWire. She doubted her appearances and regular visits were the most by far, she could swear she'd seen some of the people she passed by numerous times when she had dropped by this battle dome. Possibly someone else visited the area more then her, fought opponents from whichever team they wanted more then her. She wondered who this person would be, what their team was, and how strong they were – or rather if they were stronger then she was and by how much. An estimated guess on the latter would suffice of course. Her thought process was rather silly as she made her way through Oblivion’s home city, Kurai, with her Digimon behind and ahead of her as she dashed through the industrial shops and alley ways to the train station that would bring her to her desired location.
She had set herself up for another random match-up, meaning she wouldn't know her opponent unless of course fate wanted to play its hand again and give her someone else she knew. Doubting such thoughts her mind returned back to her most previous and rather unforgettable match up between herself and a friend she hadn't seen in some time. They hadn't met physically or that was the case until their rather odd meeting. She wondered who'd she get paired up with, what Digimon they'd have and everything in between those details. Maybe she'd be paired up with someone of her own team or even someone from Infinity like her first match up. Either would do for her, a battle was a battle and neither her or her Digimon cared about titles and team colors. Was there even a difference between them? They were all Beta testers in the end.
Taking the Locomon rather then the gate disks scattered around the station Kate quickly decided she'd have some time to waste, thus the slower transportation would do. She doubted she'd get there first but it was fine. Maybe the short lapse of time from their arrive to hers would give them the needed time to explore the functions of the arena like she had. The whole idea of being able to customize their battle location was lovely, something she found to be one of her favorite additions to this game. She wondered about how much work it must have been to code all of that into the system and not mess up somewhere down the line; that thought merely stayed for a moment, her head dizzying from the content she couldn't understand all to well. She wasn't a coding genius or smart in that field, one could barely call her a gamer despite being a beta tester in the worlds number one talked about game.
As she got the Coliseum Kate made her way through the maze of people in front and within the building itself, the crowd of Digimon and people alike causing her senses to be on high with all the noise each individual made. Taking a deep breath as she kept going she stiffened a laugh at her Digimons haste to go somewhere private and with less of a crowd, they weren’t the social butterflies Kate had presumed to get when she registered. When she got to the door Kate smiled at her pack of three before entering the arena, the showcase of pillars and smooth flooring greeting her eyes and making her smile. She hated a normal arena, it was boring and not much to look at but her opponent seemed to had taken to the customizing just a little. Her Digimon went forward, scoping out the area in full as Kate slowly stepped forward behind them as she looked around with large eyes. Once she got to the pit the paw of her Psychemon kept her back, a gracious smile forming on her lips as she stared down. She could see one of her Digimon getting in their to cause some trouble that was for sure.
Slowly bring her attention and head up Kate stared at the tall boy and three Digimon – all of which she hadn't seen before, or hadn't seen yet for that matter – on the opposite side of where she was. She assumed this was her opponent for would it be; she had never seen him before, a small mental sigh of relief washing over her as she realized fate wasn't going to be throwing her some curve ball. Waving her hand at the boy Kate smiled, raising her voice so she knew he'd hear her. “Hello there! You're my opponent right?” Hoping back away from the edge of the pit and walking around it Kate made her way to the boy to greet him. It wouldn't be very nice just to attack out of the blue without at least giving a name and a greeting. “I like what you did with the place~ Normal arena's are pretty boring!” digimon. gabumon x, psychemon, blackgabumon word count. 0834 words. summery. Kate ventures from Kurai City to the train station where she takes a Locomon to the Coliseum. Navigating her way through the crowd of people around the Coliseum Kate gets to her arena, taking in the sights of her battle area before walking over to her opponent to say hi. notes. IM SO SORRY THIS WAS LATE i haven't been feeling all to well but i pushed through my headache to get this up! i hope it's okay!

Richard leaned back, relaxed as his opponent arrived. The easygoing smile on his face hid the gears turning in his head, his eyes scanning Kate like a barcode. Her smile, her big eyes, her little wave and the ease with which she introduced herself. She seemed like a sweet kid, pretty relaxed and cheery. Maybe even a bit on the naive side. Perfect first fight, he figured.
What was most interesting, however, was her choice of Digimon. Three of a kind: a dangerous hand in poker, and equally unpredictable in the Digital World. Would they be kin, fighting as an organized team that would make his ragtag mob's jaws drop? Could they fuse like some kind of Voltron? Or was his opponent just making some silly aesthetic pick? No matter the possibility, he knew he had to be prepared.
"Hey, Richard Jensen. Pleased to meet you," he replied, lazily waving back. "And yep, me and the boys are your opponents today. Frankie, Sammy, Dean, say hi." A cool grin flashed across his face, prompting his Digimon to turn and look at their foes. Immediately Sammy Davis was the first to act, springing forward to get a closer look and grinning manically.
"Ooh, ooh, are these the friends we're playing with?" the ghost asked, holding his head in his hands and tilting it sideways. "I want to play with the furry one! He looks so soft! Ooh, or that colorful one! I bet he plays spectacularly!" Only a quick electric jolt to the back stopped his prattling on, an irritated Marty Dean glaring at him. "So sorry, so sorry!" the overexcitable spook muttered, quietly slinking back into formation.
"Name's Dean. A pleasure," the Betamon replied, quickly hunkering down into a fighting stance and sparking his horn. However, before he could act, another voice stopped him. "That's no way to greet out guests, Marts. C'mon, show some decency!"
A Chuumon stepped forth from behind Marty Dean's crest. "Just call me Frankie. Now, before we begin, why don't we start this off nice and orderly by deciding who fights who? Boys, over here." With a snap of his fingers the Chuumon sent the other two running. He grinned knowingly: it felt good to be the leader of this ragtag band.
Richard merely sat back to observe what they were doing, but as he watched his eyes slowly widened with shock. His embarrassment wasn't visible, but anybody too close could feel the shame radiating off of him. Occasionally a slight grimace or clenched fist revealed just how irritated he was: his Digimon were playing Janken on the battlefield.
Immediately the Betamon was out of the game. As he stuck out a single claw he noticed two outstretched palms, looking quickly between his permanently-nubbed hand and the ridiculously smug grins on his so-called partners. "Assholes," he muttered, annoyed that he was getting stuck with third pick. Once the battle actually started, that is, because Frankie and Sammy sure as hell weren't stopping their game.
"Tie. Go again!"
"Another tie! One more!"
"Three in a row? Really?"
"Ha! Machine gun!" "There's no machine gun in rock-paper-scissors, ya goon!"
The fight raged on for what seemed like an eternity, but was really less than a minute. Before waiting for its conclusion Dean sighed heavily, turning to the Gabumon Squad opposite of him. "Just start this off already. So sorry about . . . this"

Eying the boy she'd be facing for today's match Kate kept her smile up as she got closer. He was on the same team as she was so any team vs team competition mindset wouldn't be welcoming her, or at least that's how she saw it. Through she didn't care about the teams and saw both as the same thing minus the different colors, name, and city Kate had witnessed competitive natures in people of opposing teams. It was rather amusing to see and participate in, something she classified as silly and for fun, though others took it quite far. She had only spared against one other person of her team, a friend of hers from back in the day so this was a little special though meaningless on the outside.
From afar the boy didn't seem too bad, rather interesting and cute – though she wondered if that meaning meant anything given she thought everyone was cute upon first glance – and his pack was an odd bunch. She hadn't seen his choices before or at least not up close, let alone fight against them. Surely this was a good a good match up; it would be fun to see what those Digimon had to offer as well as the Tamer himself, win or lose as an end result. Her Digimon followed the dark haired girl in unison before stopping once Kathrine did so, they're attention going to the tall boy then to the odd bunch of Digimon with him. “Be nice.” she muttered to her pack, quietly so only they could hear.
Smiling at the packs greeting to her and her Digimon Kate laughed softly, amused by how active they were in personality. They were the opposite to the silent, somber Digimon watching from behind her legs. “Hello there! Aren't you guys cute~ and so energetic to greet people!” Kate said, gushing over each one of her opponents Digimon; she liked the open, positive attitude each one gave. Looking at her Digimon Kate smiled softly, reassuring them in silence that she loved them for who they were even if she was gushing over these Digimon. “Introduce yourselves.” Inching closer to the Oblivion Tamer Katherine smiled up at him as she focused mainly on the boy rather then the group as a whole. “Richard, was it? Since we're on the same team why don't we make this sparing match fun! Loser buys the other some food at Kurai.” tilting her head as she spoke in a playful tone Kate blinked, hoping he'd agree to the fun rules as she got close to him. “What do you say? We can get to know each other and have something tasty to eat.”
Watching their Tamer walk to the stranger boy the three sub-species stared at the amusing pack they'd be fighting for this sparing match. Nymeria and Valar looked at one another with humor dancing in their eyes while Summer sat back in silence, turning her attention to the field rather then the three opponents. Knowing their sister wouldn't speak up Nymeria and Valar nodded to the Betamon once it spoke to them during the other two's rock paper scissor game of reasons the two had forgotten about already. Valar spoke up first before Nymeria could vocalize for her team. “Ah, yes. I shall, thank you.” he spoke, head raised slightly as he grinned down at the aquatic beast. “You don't need to apologize for anything, like my Tamer said it's rather... cute.” It felt out to say such a word, it didn't fit him at all. Pointing at himself with one of the black claws on his paw Valar introduced the pack, “I'm Valar, this is Nymeria and the silent one behind us is Summer. Name doesn't fit the personality right?” he said, chuckling at his words as Summers growl hit his hearing. “Lets choose our opponents once the match starts, shall we? Should be more fun that way and since my Tamer has informed me that we will all be fighting at the same time I think it would be best if we don't have set limitations.” he said, looking at the three Digimon before returning to the Betamon who had spoken to them. “It's fun that way, right?” digimon. gabumon x, psychemon, blackgabumon word count. 0720 words. summery. Kate goes over to Richard and his Digimon, gushing over his Digimon and their rather positive personalities. Leaving her Digimon to talk to his Kate focuses on Richard, asking if he'd like to make a fun bet: the loser buys the other food at Kurai. Speaking up for his Pack Valar introduces himself and his teammates, saying they shouldn't choose preset opponents due to the match being a 3v3 and that by not doing so the match would be more fun. notes. dont battle for experience, battle for free food!

Sammy giggled at the girl's cheerfulness. "You're such a nice hyoo-man!" he crooned, returning her smile with a wide one of his own. "Are you the one whose friends we'll be playing with today? I love meeting new friends!" Frankie was too absorbed in Rock-Paper-Scissors-Machine Gun to respond, while Dean looked at the ground and grumbled "I'm not bloody cute . . . "
Richard blinked from the sheer force of personality Katherine was exuding, going over his mental checklist. Cheery = VERY YES. Clearly this wasn't a person who needed figuring out. At the same time, though, her energy was infectious. His smile grew slightly at the mention of a bet. What use was a fight without some friendly competition, after all? Besides, he was kind of hungry. "You're on," he responded, his voice confident to mask his curiosity. Maybe today would be a fitting proving grounds for his ragtag bunch . . .
While waiting for the fight to start he walked over to a spectator area, motioning for Katherine to join him. "So, what brings you to the arena?" he asked, hoping to get to know this new person better. She seemed . . . interesting, for lack of a better term.
Then Valar, obviously the most eloquent of the group, began introducing himself. At his suggestion Sammy and Frankie stopped their game, while Dean's embarrassed glowering intensified. "Hm, suppose your right. I'll try things your way," Frankie decided. "Pleased to meet you three, by the way. Boys, get ready, its fight time!"
Sammy and Dean approached Frankie's side as he snapped his fingers, forming a V with the tiny mouse at the front. It looked every bit as silly as it sounded, especially because Sammy was absolutely horrible at staying in formation. He kept absentmindedly twirling his cable-like tendrils, resembling a haywire marionette rather than an arena participant. In contrast Dean was almost spartan in his determination, barely moving except for the occasional blink. Frankie seemed the most calm of them all, not tense nor fidgety. He grinned at the team of Gabumon, spreading his arms wide as if daring them to try something. "C'mon, hit me with your best shot."

In the back of her mind she wondered if she was being too direct or outgoing for this stranger. She had done so with Ryan when they had been paired up... though as the memory returned to her she figured that moment was worse and if reenacted again with Richard would result it awkward silence. Not many people would take kindly to being ran at and hugged. Making a small mental note – one of which that would probably be lost if their conversation took on something she found exciting – to tone herself down Kate grinned, her competitive nature bubbling up inside her. He had agreed to their little bet and though the winner could easily be either one of them she hoped she'd come out the victor.
Gazing back at her three Digimon, waving her hand to them as she did Kate followed Richard as he motioned for her to follow him. She normally stood within the arena where the view was good but this time it would be different. It felt a little odd to sit in the empty bleachers with only the Digimon fighting in the arena and her opponent next to her. She didn't mind the change of pace though with any new thing, big or small, it felt weird. As she sat down and heard his question Kate blinked, thinking about how to answer it. “Well... it's not super amazing.” she began, leaning a little back to get comfortable. “My Digimon seem to be natural fighters or at least that's what they come off to me. They like to be where the action is so I guess the fastest place with that is here!” Tilting her a bit to look at the boy Kate smiled, “What about you? Is it your first time here?”
His ears twitching and his attention going to the small pink mouse Digimon, one of which that – in his opinion – seemed rather torn in appearance. Letting his ears settle back down to his head Valar grinned, his teeth showing as he did before nodding his head. Nymeria who stood beside the BlackGabumon merely rolled her eyes, falling back behind the social “leader” of the pack where Summer stayed. The battle would be starting momentarily so their locations prior wouldn't matter much. “The pleasure is all ours.” Valar spoke, his words hanging in the air at his last vocalized syllable. He laughed deep down for speaking for his team without any prior warning, it was becoming a habit of his he rather liked. It amplified his self appointed leader status quite a bit.
The three watched the Digimon form a V shaped line, the mouse that was speaking being in the front while the other two took to the back. The grin that was on his mouth stayed as the Digimon provoked him to “hit him with his best shot”. “Of course.” he said, opening his jaw as he spoke as fire began to store at the back of his mouth.
Before the move could launch Summer darted to the side, her mouth open and filled with the same red flames Valar was producing. In a moment three fire balls were launched towards the opponents Digimon, the flames swirling past the BlackGabumon and causing him to halt his attack. Scoffing at his sisters actions Valar side stepped away from the heat before positioning his head upwards, his mouth open and the same flames forming in his throat. Shooting out small balls of fire from his jaw and into the air the balls separated in the air as they descended to the arena near where Richards Digimon were.
The two had their attention set on their own attacks, something Nymeria rather liked; her pack mates were pretty eager to start this fight, though it had been the little mouse to vocalize announce it to begin. Taking the moment of fiery chaos to her advantage she charged her horn with energy, her bodies opacity going to zero as the energy ran through her digitized blood. She was now camouflaged with her surrounding, her usual colorful pallet faded into that of the arena she fought on in camouflage. She'd wait here for the moment and strike when her pack siblings assault of flames ceased to where she wouldn't injure herself. digimon. gabumon x, psychemon, blackgabumon word count. 0725 words. summery. Kate follows Richard to the stands, sitting next to him before answering his question and asking it back. Valar agree's to begin the battle, charging a move before getting interrupted by Summer launching 3 fire balls ( Flame Burst ) at the opponent Digimon. Annoyed by his sisters antics Valar jumps out of the way of the bursts for some distance before launching small balls of fire ( Napalm Shot ) into the air, each descending down towards the enemy's. Taking the chaos to her advantage Nymeria lays back behind Valar and Summer, making her fur and body transparent and camouflage into the arena using ( Overlay Color ). She doesn't attack, waiting for an opponent to get closer or the flames from her packs attacks to cease to decrease any injury to herself. notes.
