I'm a mountain lion! Rawr! | your first breath in and the clock starts ticking.
it was a "killing haze", an "ashy smoke", dead air. luna emphasized this a lot, attempting to convince bunny that this was not an effort worth the suffering or the challenge. it was foolish, really, to think that a challenge was too challenging to attempt or that a risk was somehow not worth it. bunny didn't believe in the no-win scenario, and as much as he liked things being easy he didn't believe that was the correct approach to games such as this one. if there was a flag at the end of a minefield bunny would have been the one to take himself across that, not because he didn't want oblivion to have the flag but because such a challenge needs to be met by someone as beautiful as he. eventually, bunny convinced 2 of the three of his digimon - they worked by majority rules - that his beauty would aid them in their attempt to find the flag deep within the volcanic tunnels of shadow abyss. sol was reluctant, believing that she would die of heat stroke. astra was without reply and luna believed that he was stupid for attempting this, a position from which she never budged.
however, it was not his beauty alone that would make this expedition possible, and bunny made sure that was abundantly clear. whereas in most situations he would be tackling or fighting an opposing force with just his digimon companions, he explained that a partner would be with him. they already knew who he was referring to, for bunny had likened the trio to extensions of himself, of his mind, thus whenever a thought or idea of ava were to appear he would share with them. while some ideas such as the potential death match were denied by his fellow digimon, others such as this one were actually accepted. so he and ava would capture the flag, bringing glory to team infinity and training their digimon all the while. it hadn't been long since their first visit, only five days or so and since then he hadn't met anyone yet that mattered much. there was elena silas, but she was slow or something... granted she was beautiful but he didn't wish to invest time into bringing said beauty to the surface. there was kei, who... well he was kei in the way that only he could be. the others weren't even notable, nor did he leave with a means of contacting them again.
golden eyes peered through the dark haze, red gradually infecting the sclera as the matter irritated it. bunny wore an all black thin jacket, his hood up over his head like any other time as if it wasn't extremely hot all around him. around his neck was the yellow kerchief which he intended to use in the event that breathing became too difficult in order to filter air. under him was the black sand that covered the entire beach. luna had explained that their best bet would be to locate an entrance into the cave system not blockaded by molten lava if this was to be done quickly. furthermore, luna spoke that the proximity to the heart of the volcano would raise the temperature dramatically. bunny didn't believe this to be true for it was hot as the hottest california day just outside. luckily, he had accidentally conditioned himself for this sort of thing by almost wearing warmer clothing.
he dragged his feet through the black sand. it seemed almost, with the thickness of the air, that moving was difficult. this was merely a result of his breathing which had accidentally grown shallow, but he didn't panic or think of turning around. through the cloud of haze he could see a deep red-orange, and when he turned his face towards these bright light sources he could almost feel the heat of the lava against it. it was these rivers of lava, flowing ever deeper into crevices that seemed to be holes in the digital world itself, that provided all the light within the abyss. the sun had long since gone down, however in such an abyss it was doubtful the sunlight would reach that far anyway without being obstructed. bunny was accompanied by his trio, all of which dealt with the conditions in a separate way. sol the lopmon, however, was the only one that physically did anything by using one of her ears to cover her mouth. she hadn't said a word since they got here.
red tinted rocks. bunny felt strangely alert and observant, but perhaps that was just because he wasn't feeding insanely loud music into his ears... or maybe the haze and the heat actually made him hasty? either way, when he saw these rocks managing to capture some of the lava's light, he knew that he must have been close to a cave entrance. he was oddly energetic, pressing on past the rocks and gazing through the haze to find what appeared to be a sort of entrance. bunny walked over to this; this was one of the few times that luna wasn't leading him or scouting ahead. stopping in front of the entrance, he looked over it with luna at his side. it was here that, just to his side, the elevation steeply increased into the massive volcano that made the abyss stick out. most of the volcano's sides were occupied by flowing lava that perpetually filled the magma rivers, but this side seemed almost entirely solid. in the side of the volcano was a dimly lit hole that seemed to be the start or end of a tunnel.
"think that'll work?" bunny looked over to luna. "yes. perhaps we should wait for our partner in order to follow crosswire regulations for this event."--"i feel you." waiting.

ICY_MOON
This is a thing I suppose. I have to admit when Bunny messaged me to accompany him to Shadow Abyss for this new event thing, I was quite skeptical. Still am actually. After all the name itself did not bode well whatsoever. Shadow Abyss? Who seriously named a place shadow abyss and expects people to go visit it? Better yet who actually went to a place with such a name, especially without reason? That said in the same manner of speaking, I could not simply say no to such a request considering what I said to him previously of assisting when he called upon me or at least attempting to. I have my pride. In addition I did want to win this event and I suppose doing this would by my contribution, even if it seemed excessively difficult.
Thus I suppose for today I am one of those people. I wanted to shake my head at myself as I thought this over. What a pain. Granted I have a reason and if I died I would simply respawn regardless but it was still excessively named and in turn unnecessary. Even Nayru believed this so. Speaking of which the pup also had stated that she would have preferred if I reconsidered and decided not to go, even when I was already traveling across the black sands to meet Bunny for this quest thing. Both Din and Farore neglected to have any input on the matter as always and thus I set my sights to rendezvous with the strange boy from California once more instead of worrying much over nothing. My goal was to find this flag quickly and then leave to do my part for this team effort thing. I believed it was logical enough. I had already informed my digimon of what was occurring and while Nayru complained we were able to move forward without must resistance from the terrain or the wild lifeforms, not that I saw any here in the first place.
When I arrived at the god forsaken area I felt the sweltering heat swiftly coaxing a heavy layer over my skin and I almost felt as if sweat would instantaneously form. I felt myself exhaling what was left of moderately acceptable temperature left in my body as a result. This game had a thing for overly hot locations it seemed. First it was the jungle then the amazon and now this place. Delightful. Regardless the heat was not from humidity thus I was not greatly discomforted. In addition, this was merely a game thus it would not affect me in the real world. Nothing to be afraid of I believe. At the very least the location was not as cryptic as the name suggests it would be. I half expected the place to be some ruins shrouded in darkness or something if Nayru did not inform me of otherwise. As we entered further towards the ominous volcanic mountainside I noticed Din did not scout ahead as she usually would opt to do but I suppose I will not complain on it. If anything, she was the one used to these temperatures. Farore on the other hand looked rather pained but I am attributing that to the fact that she refuses to take that fur coat off.
Nevertheless I felt my eyes wander about and examining the area for signs of life, not many existing. Now that I look over everything however I had noticed that this place was like a color palette invert of Proxy Island. Rather than white sands the sands were black. Clear blue skies were swapped with smog filled red ones. The oceans of water swapped with molten hot lava. All in all the scenery left something to be desired but it is all the same in some respects, this one simply more dangerous. It is quite alright however. This venture was not supposed to be a simple one after all. I did not expect it to be. "I think I hear someone talking over there," I heard Nayru state as she pointed her left paw forwards to show me a direction. Knowing Nayru she was not wrong and Din did not disagree with her claim so I decided to take my chances and approach the area cautiously.
To my luck there were no surprise lava rivers blocking my way or anything so it was a rather safe enough trip though the heat in and of itself was enough to exhaust me. There were several times that I had to wave my hand to act as a fan in a futile attempt to cool me down. I constantly had to remind myself that this was not real in the process to prevent myself from aborting the mission, which was when my three Digimon usually helped in the matter. After some time had passed, Din ran forward and I would not have noticed if she was not standing in front of me in my line of sight for the majority of the time. With some reluctance I followed suit and mildly jogged to keep her within my sights. At this rate I suppose I should be throwing caution to the wind.
It did not take much time or effort to see Bunny afterwards by what looked to be an entrance to a cave of sorts. With a heavy breath I adjusted myself to look more normal as I approached. Immediately my attention went to his digimon, which were all rather adorable if I was allowed to say so, but attempted to redirect my attention back to Bunny as my digimon moved forward to converse with Bunny’s digimon. All except Din that is as Din refused to be much of a social bee of any sort and instead took to standing a tad away from where I stood to look into the tunnel opening. Figures. “Did I keep you waiting for long?” I expected a no answer but even if I had, it was fine. Girls were allowed to be fashionably late at times after all. Regardless I saw Nayru bowing her head and Farore saying hello to the other team but figured that we should hurry through this area so we did not have to stay any longer. Too hot. I mean I am used to warm temperatures but nothing like this. “Out of all the places I cannot believe you chose this place to start this event.” I felt the need to say. I smiled so he would not take that statement too seriously however knowing the guy I doubted he took much of anything too seriously. “No matter, should we get going?” And with that I decided to go ahead into the tunnel. I would have grabbed onto Bunny’s hand but that yellow fox looking thing look like it would kill me if I even tried so I left it alone and moved on with my life.

an earthquake rattles the ground and everything below and on top due to an eruption of one of the volcano heads some ways from where you are. despite the distance it's rather strong, making staying upright difficult. though lasting for only a minute the hardened lava acting as the ground has weakened, opening up in various places around you to reveal the molten liquid beneath your feet. cracks are beginning to show where you are standing and lit up holes and falling ground is quickly replacing the area around you. It's best to hurry up before the ground gives way.

I'm a mountain lion! Rawr! | bunny turned his head, looking out from under his hood to see the beautiful ava approaching him. he could barely read the fatigue off her, which was surprising given the fact that she was some sort of dainty woman accustomed to formal eating. perhaps she was just keeping up with appearances and trying not to show how hot she was or how fatigued she may have been from this venture, but bunny figured that it didn't actually matter. what did, however, matter was the fact that she hadn't neglected to show up and thus had gone out of her way to meet him. looking for the bright side of being stuck in the shadow abyss to find a flag, he figured that at the very least this meant she wasn't going to completely ignore him or not follow through with the offering of help. ava, as he could have predicted, was not alone. there was a puppy looking thing that was cute, a dog looking thing which was beautiful in its own way (like how some people were smart in their own way), and whatever that colorful thing was. none of them really paralleled the beauty of ava, and bunny would guess that his digimon were probably more beautiful, but that wasn't really of object right now.
she asked if she was late, no doubt expecting him to answer no. bunny could have been out here waiting for hours and he would be expected to answer 'no' or some sarcastic answer with the same effect. "just in time. nice to see you again," he replied, casting his gaze down into the tunnel which looked pretty threatening in how dark and deep it seemed to go. in a way, he was looking forward to this challenge. in another way, he wished him and ava were back at hikari city having dinner. bunny decided to think of this as just a dinner date, no big deal, he'd be able to handle it like he did. ava spoke of her disbelief that this was their desired location, which might have actually effected bunny hadn't they already been here. if anything, it actually encouraged him because she actually accepted to do this despite it being in the shadow abyss and didn't turn back even when faced with this heat. she was impressive. bunny spoke back, "sorry 'bout that, let's go." he tried to come off almost as if this was out of his control, when in fact he decided on the place himself. "salutations. i'm luna."--"name's sol~"
bunny watched closely as she entered the tunnel, her digimon trailing behind her. he hadn't really taken note of this before, but the tunnel was actually wide enough to easily accommodate them and their rookies. ladies first, though. bunny filed in after them, luna staying at his side walking pretty much shoulder to shoulder, sol down at his side scared half to death, and astra at the very back of the pack. as they walked, he figured that perhaps he should converse with ava in the event that this venture was uneventful. "so, ava--" bunny spoke, only to be interrupted by what felt and sounded like a rattling of the earth itself. violent tremors followed and as the earth rumbled around it groaned out in pain as the shifting only grew more violent and tumultuous. bunny's entire body tensed up as to counter the quaking, however this could do very little for him in this instance. he was thrown off balance, only to be quite by the strong shoulder of luna whom seemed to almost completely ignore the tremor. sol the lopmon laid on the ground seizing, and astra stumbled around doing its best to stay on its legs.
luna stumbled a step forward, the weight of bunny weighing down on her shoulder. the violent shaking did not stop and the walls of the tunnel shook off debris. the ground itself felt like it was parting and actually moving in a direction, and in truth it was. bunny's ears were filled with the clap of rock splitting through and through. he turned his head, forgetting all about the haze and the heat to stare at where light was sprouting up and showering the tunnel in a flame-like rays of light. sol rolled over as rock split beside her, lava quickly coming up to fill its place. she shrieked something about how completely and utterly ratchet this place was, crawling down across the rock as she hyperventilated. astra remained calm, springing over a crack that shot past it and that would have cut him off from the rest of the traveling group. he resolved to stay close to luna and bunny to avoid the possibility of their separation. bunny turned his head to see lava beginning to well up in a large crack between him and ava, "ava!" he called out desperately. "bunny come on."
the tremor had lasted only a minute, but as the tunnel was bathed in light and rocked violently it felt as if it had been an hour. cracks split down near bunny and luna, to which the bunny quickly pushed himself away, nearly falling over. "dammit..." bunny murmured, holding his head up as there was a pause in the shaking. he was panting, his hood had fallen back, and he felt almost queasy with the sudden shifts and the heat getting to him. sol had rolled all over the place, which is dangerous in itself because rolling is a danger to mankind and bunnykind alike, astra had struggled to remain near them, and luna had been there to shoulder bunny. "bunny..." whined sol from the ground between deep breaths. "home?" he turned to look at her, finally controlling his breath so that he wasn't panting himself. the bunny wiped his brow of the sweat that formed there, looking over to see most of the ground around them was now magma. he had stumbled a little away from ava, and there was no easy route between them now.
bunny decided that they would need to go ahead a bit in order to regroup. "bunny, there's more solid ground just a little farther ahead. let us go."--"yeah...yeah.." he spoke under his breath in response to luna, whom still stood by him in case an aftershock were to throw them off balance. he cast his gaze back over to where ava was, unsure of how she was going to be able to handle this or if she would still want to continue. guess it didn't really matter. he was slowly shaking it off, as was the rest of his digimon. sol finally crawled back up to her feet, whining under her breath but knowing that either way this would need to be done one way or another. bunny vaulted a small jump, getting over a gap in the rock where lava was now flowing freely. luna and astra followed, and as they turned to watch sol she too stumbled to the edge and span her ears to travel the distance. "right up here, beautiful." he called, jogging forward and taking long strides back and forth to avoid the cracks that split through the ground.
finally he reached a bend in the tunnel where the earthquake did not effect the ground as much, where solid ground was. bunny pulled his hood back up and readjusted his kerchief.

ICY_MOON
As we ventured forth into the darkness of the tunnel, my eyes hastily darted about my surroundings. Some fiber of my body was telling me that this was not safe as well as the fact that I was able to read that message off of Nayru's expression as well. Regardless this is a game for a reason and because of the large risk to my theoretical life in this game I expected rather large rewards. Nevertheless being in an enclosed space in such a location was beginning to wear on my stamina to the point that it was beginning to feel like the end of my morning training exercises. For once I was being thankful for that regimen as I wiped the back of my right hand to my forehead. At that instant Bunny had spoken to grab my attention to which I glanced back to check on him. "Something the-"
"Watch out!" "Get down." And then the quakes. I should have figured that something like this would happen. I managed to heed both Din and Nayru in time to lower down to a knee as the tremors began to shake the earth, the violent rattles of the earth around me breaking apart tearing at my eardrums becoming the least of my concerns. I figured that Nayru and Din had heard the incoming sounds and sensed it coming from a mile away so I did not worry about their whereabouts for the most part. Farore was rather close so I was able to wrap my arms around her for support and to protect her from the falling debris that pelted us all. I saw nothing as I braced for this, the pain of the rocks impacting my skin was nothing I could not take. The pain was sharp and lingers still as they began to dull from additional rocks hitting another part of my body, but it was all fine. None of this is real. Earthquakes were not foreign in Okinawa and so I knew how to respond and react, holding relatively still as I protected my vitals from serious damage and it worked for the most part. It was best not to attempt moving much in such a situation and merely wait for it to be over. I simply hope that Bunny was managing well enough.
"Avalyn, get up. We do not have time to stay. We have to move." My eyelids shot open as I heard this and looked up despite myself to look for where Din was only to see the ground around me begin to fragment into cracks of a variety of sizes. I saw some lava beginning to seep through some of them and my eyes widened at the sight. My eyes darted about as I attempted to remain composed at the situation though I would be lying if I said my heart was not in a panic. The first thing I saw was Nayru a good distance ahead as she stood calling to me with Din at her side. "The tunnels have begun to collapse and the cooled lava is deteriorating. We need to begin evasive action or this will be the end of this trip." Jeez I would have never guessed. That was all good and well however it was also easier said than done. Saying it was one thing but attempting to move around in such a mess was another. One wrong step and I would become charcoal in a matter of seconds.
I heard Bunny's voice calling my name and turned my head to see him moved away with the help of his Digimon, or at least one of them. The bunny looking one appeared as if it was in a panic. Nevertheless I suppose I should take solace in the fact that Bunny was doing fine on his own. As for me I must overcome my shock and regain control of my muscles despite the throbbing pain around my body. Farore below me was looking straight at me at the time and pushed me away which caused me to stabilize myself on my own, or at least attempt with some success. "Get a hold of yourself." Being the digimon she was, Farore was most likely my bravest digimon and willing to take on any challenge. The fact that she had moved to stand on her own and forced me to do the same was proof of that. "Nayru, you have a plan right?"
I could not tell if Nayru nodded of shook her head because I was more so focused on balancing myself. Those training exercises are helping me regain footing even in this type of environment as the tremors began to settle down. "I-" I think Nayru flinched but as I turned my head to the two Din had taken control of the situation. "Follow our lead. We can sense the stability of the earth below us." I pursed my lips at that. Right, because dogs had that ability. I could not tell if this was for real however I suppose I should not doubt them. Not much of a choice. I shall trust in their paw pads to lead me to safety and that sounded so stupid. I should not say that out loud. "Hurry up." Farore took my hand with her paw and dragged me along to jump over a small crevice that separated the area between us and the two puppy digimon. I landed on my feet somehow and exhaled as Nayru and Din took this opportunity to jump away into another part of land. Nayru's ears were twitching so I guess she was listening to how the earth moved? I do not know.
"To the left." Nayru was guiding Farore it seemed and Farore did not hesitate to pull me along in following these directions. Luckily it did not seem as if any of the directions turned out to be wrong at all. Each jump I had to make I had managed to see the area behind me or to my sides breaking apart so I felt thankful for Nayru's intelligence both of their sensitivity. For one reason or another Farore did not appear fazed in the slightest and traveled without hesitation in her step either which made me realize her capabilities. Soon enough after a large bit of leaping the ground around me stopped shattering and the tunnel above me did not fall on me anymore. I could not help but stop at this point and tug against Farore so I could catch my breath. My body was aching for more reasons than one so that I knew that my real body would probably feel it as well. Beads of sweat were dripping off my face and it was not pleasant whatsoever. Even Limit Valley was not as dangerous as this.
Farore appeared to understand as she had patted me on he back while my breaths were released resembling heavy sighs. I swear that my body temperature was way higher than it was supposed to and I had no idea how Nayru and Din were traveling like this. These programs. Speaking of which, Nayru and Din stopped ahead and looked back at me with waiting eyes. "That friend of yours escaped ahead. You should catch up with him before you decide to rest." I blinked and shoot my head. Right. That kid. "No... no. I am fine. Simply must catch... my breath." One more and I think I should be fine. It were times like these I felt thankful for my body's natural swift recovery as I was able to stand back up normally in a matter of seconds. "Okay, where is he?" Nayru pointed further down the path to which I nodded and did a short jog down. There was a point I had to vault down to a lower portion of land, however that was no problem for me despite the pain it caused.
I glanced around and spotted a humanoid figure to which I immediately assumed was Bunny or that fox digimon that was with him. "Bunny, wait up." I ran forward past my digimon in an attempt to catch up however I doubt that this twisted area would make that an simple effort.

I'm a mountain lion! Rawr! | after letting out a few more heavy breaths, bunny found that the anxiety and fear had subsided enough that what adrenaline still coursed through him still actually made him feel okay. his digimon looked a little scraggly after that earthquake... lopmon's fur had little pieces of rock tangled in it, luna's chest heaved as she caught up on breath real quick, and astra. astra seemed pretty relaxed and unscathed, which was a good sign since that meant the world itself was yet to be thrown out of equilibrium. bunny looked up to find that ava was dealing with this in her own way, and was now on her way towards them without looking too horribly shaken up. unlike before, however, he could tell that she wasn't all perfect and dandy. this game was almost cruel how it made perfectly normal, good people go through the most insane scenarios and locations. perhaps it was just luck that both of them were faring alright through the shadow abyss. or, on the darker side of things, maybe this was just the beginning. ava called out to wait up, which he did as he just posted up against the wall gathering his wits. coolly and deftly it seemed ava reached bunny and his digimon.
he wasn't entirely happy-go-lucky, in fact there was way more to him than just that, but he figured that sort of attitude would help here, "a'ight. let's keep moving," his voice was thick with amusement and hope, most of which came from being here with ava instead of alone. bunny continued down the tunnel, finding that the haze around them wasn't as thick as it was before and the tunnel itself began to expand both in height and width. this continued for several meters of cracked ground until finally bunny arrived at what appeared to be a giant cavern. on both sides of the underground room there was two lava pools, and much like the tunnel there was several cracks in the ground, some of which let in light from magma below. as he walked he looked all around the cavern, admiring the large expanse of the room. it was the sort of room that looked like it would be home to a final boss, and suitably enough such a boss was present. bunny and his company had cleared about a quarter of the massive room before suddenly luna held out her arm in front of him. "bunny there is something else here," her voice was sullen. "hm?"
from the shaded, high extending ceiling there came a black demon that had apparently attached itself there at the end of the room. the devidramon turned its body around, catching itself with its strong wings and riding on a self created gale of wind as it propelled towards them quickly. the devidramon began to dip down a little, nearing the ground but still flying a good 20 feet over the heads of bunny and ava. as it did so a shockwave was created that split through the ground as it traveled and created a small ravine of wreckage in its wake. luna pushed bunny out of the way of the technique and then dived herself, the shockwave slashing right through the earth between them. bunny got back to his feet as the devidramon turned around and positioned itself on the wall on the opposite end of the cave once more. "stand back, ava. i got this." bunny had a thing for false heroics, because even though he wasn't a knight in shining armor he sure wanted to feel like one sometimes. he figured every guy did.
bunny dug in his pocket for his digivice, reading the information off the screen about his opponent. devidramon. it was pretty ugly, but that didn't change the fact that it was definitely a threat and also at champion level. luna explained that, at champion level, digimon had matured far more than the rookie level and were capable of supernatural feats. luna's paws began to glow with a strange blue light as it prepared to use power paw when the opportunity was to present itself. "sol, get its attention." sol was still shaken up by the earthquake but had seen the devidramon when it attacked previously. it was ugly, and in order to restore beauty it would need to be eliminated as quickly as possible. sol inhaled a large breath, the back of its throat tingling with an extreme chill. "your crimes against beauty won't go unanswered!" a barrage of six supercooled air bullets now spiraled their way over to the devidramon that let out a screech in retaliation to the threat. the bullets each collided with the digimon, however its tough black hide seemed to completely ignore the attack. there was a deep, echoing chuckle from the devidramon that filled the cavern.
the devidramon detached from the wall, catching itself once more by its wings and going down to charge his digimon. blue flame ignited around luna's paws and astra stepped forward with a crimson aura. however, none of this mattered as sol stepped forward as the primary intercepting force. spinning herself a full time around, she projected a tiny twister at the devidramon that slammed into its body and knocked it back a little bit. luna decided that now was as good a time as any to begin her assault on the enemy that clearly was attempting to get close to do some damage. instead of launching a diamond storm or a similar effect to keep this assumed range advantage, luna jumped forth at the digimon that was still recovering from the direct impact from sol's tiny twister. as luna's powerful legs carried her up to the height of devidramon, she quickly unloaded a barrage of heavy, flaming punches onto her foe. the devidramon cringed as the powerful renamon dispatched a combination of punches and kicks that left it reeling. as luna's finishing move, what would have surely been used to eliminate a stunned rookie, was a front flip followed by her bringing down a flaming leg onto the enemy to knock it down to the ground.
as this was executed, devidramon did not flinch. instead, it put its arms out to its sides and released a dome of crimson energy which slammed into the renamon and knocked it backwards. luna slammed into the ground in front of the rest of the team, skidding against the ground and looking pretty damaged from the devidramon's attack. bunny noticed this and was unsure how exactly to react. he couldn't stand to see luna hurt, but with the imminent danger he couldn't run out there to try and comfort her right now. the devidramon did not look all too well either, having taken such a vicious pounding from a digimon that was capable of hand-to-hand fighting champions with decent success. it fell to the ground, landing in the middle of the cave panting.
such momentum would not be simply lost, even if both of his teammates were exhausted and needed a minute to recover. astra sprang forward, an act that actually caused the devidramon to smirk. it was such a tiny little digimon in comparison to itself, thus it actually wondered what it would try and prepared to counter. as it got in a position to start clawing into astra the moment it got near, the digimon suddenly felt drowsy. as its eyes began to blink shut, the devidramon's blinking eyes launched a beam of red energy out wildly in an effort to stop the source of the sleep waves. the beam was dragged across the ground, missing phascomon except for when it began to fade away and nicked his paw. instead of reeling back from the damage, phascomon continued as its enemy was now falling into slumber.
catching the air with his tiny wings, his mobility boosted by blood hunt, astra flew into the air and brought his claws into the wings of the devidramon. he did this four times, twice for each wing, before backing off into the front of the digimon. at this time, both luna and sol had run up to where he landed to support him. the both of them knew exactly what it was he intended to do, though. phascomon closed its eyes and emitted a flurry of strong, crippling waves that worked only on sleeping victims. as they came in contact with the devidramon they went to work and began destroying it from the inside. this went on for a whole four seconds (it didn't take much longer to completely debilitate rookie level digimon) before the devidramon responded by shaking its entire body and all 4 of its eyes quickly opened. the eyes glowed red and each of the three digimon were shocked to their core by the move. bunny didn't quite understand immediately, but all four of his digimon were now rendered completely immobile by the devidramon.
"yo! finish it off!" they only shook in place as if paralyzed by fear. hey, maybe they were paralyzed. they were now at the mercy of the devidramon, which bunny predicted wasn't much mercy at all. he turned his head to ava. "hey uh... wanna help a bit, pretty please?"
words | 1,537 tagged | ctf, Avalyn Mysore summary | devidramon strikes with demonic gale which nearly kills bunny and luna but they evade. lopmon then uses blazing ice to get its attention and then as devidramon is swooping down on them uses twister to knock it off balance. astra uses blood hunt to boost speed. luna uses power paw and launches a direct assault on the devidramon, countered by it using devil's contract. injured, devidramon lands. devidramon then begins to feel drowsy as astra uses sleepy snore. before it falls asleep, it uses red eye darkness gale to do some damage to astra. astra shears the now asleep devidramon's wings before using its finishing move, eat dream. suddenly, devidramon wakes up and paralyzing all of bunny's digimon with red eyes. |

Bunny had waited for me after I called out and he appeared to retain his bright expression as we continued forward. His digimon appeared a tad worse for wear however I could not say I was in any better condition. Nevertheless it mattered not as we were all fit to continue forward. Despite the thick heat I believe being within the tunnel system assisted in keeping a decent temperature within these confined spaces which I was thankful for. That said, the cracks on the ground spewing pillars of hot steam are not helping my cause as I once again wiped my forehead of my perspiration. I took to removing my gloves from my hands at this rate in an attempt to allow my body heat to escape from me more easily but as I had noticed that the tunnel ways were becoming larger than I remembered them being. In fact I believe they were gradually expanding the further we walked. How curious. I believe Nayru noticed it too as her face held a general pondering expression but as always she kept it to herself as no one else seemed to have noticed, or if they had chosen not to say anything.
“Proceed with caution. I have a bad feeling.” Nayru stated softly, my irises trailing to her form as I heard her voice. I barely caught what she said and I was assured that if I heard it then Din and likely the fox digimon that Bunny had heard these things as well. It was simply a matter of raising my guard in preparation for the next events. As I had we arrived to a large expansive room that looked to be battlegrounds of sorts and home to a demon if I were to classify it. There were several cracks on the ground despite the stability that it granted beneath my feet, lava pools that generated light as well as heat, and the darkness surrounding me was reminiscent of hell as if some demon would charge out to attack me. Despite that Bunny and I proceeded but as a few seconds passed the yellow fox had stopped her tamer as Din had jumped before me which prompted me to stop as well. “The Renamon is right.” Just as she said that I felt a gust of wind blast through the room and while it felt delightfully pleasant in terms of cooling myself, it felt ominous enough to warrant me raising my arms in an attempt to block the winds and stand my ground. I winced a bit as the gust was rather harsh but from the corner of my eye I had noticed that the fox had pushed Bunny away as a large slash was made into the ground where he previously stood.
As the gust stopped I took some satisfaction of the hot air dissipated momentarily as the cause of the winds had dipped down and created a shadow as it passed above me. My eyes locked onto it and I felt my lips part in surprise at the sight. While it may be in my blood I was never one to keep etiquette in moments like these. “Shit.” Why was there a large black demonic dragon looking thing here? We were not expected to fight that right? I shook my head. What was I saying? Of course we were. Delightful. My first instinct is to look around and see the status of my digimon. Farore had managed to hold her ground by digging her claws down into the cooled magma, Nayru standing behind her and biting down on Farore’s coat so she did not move far from her. As for Din she was not so lucky and was blown away by the wind but was not taken far. She was on the ground but look no worse for wear than she had previously. “That is a Devidramon, a champion virus type.” Nayru called out as I ran back to help Din. Din however was already on her feet when I got there and refused my help as she continued to eye the beast we were to fight. Just as I was reaching for my digivice however, I realize that the event specifically stated that they had restricted some things available to us normally. I took a moment to think this through with a bite to my bottom lip however Bunny called out to me that he wished to handle this. I was not sure if this was meant to impress me or what however I simply looked over to him and nodded. Not going to look this gift horse in the mouth.
“Din, Nayru, Farore; to me.” I called out as I swiftly turned heel and ran towards one of the walls nearby to attempt to stay out of the way. For now I would attempt to have my team play the support role and everyone but Din ceded to my order. Din, being the rebellious one stayed her ground but I did not have the time to deal with her shenanigans. “Din!” I heard a low growl but just as Nayru and Farore stood in front of me Din had returned to my side. I watched as the battle ensued and for one reason or another, the demon had chosen not to pay me much regard so I was not required to do much in terms of battle. I heard a few questionable battle cries as well but I will not question it. “Nayru, have you gathered anything?” Nayru shook her body and I saw a puff of dust fly out from her fur to which I took as her getting comfortable before speaking. “It is known as the many eyes digimon so I advise against looking directly into its eyes during combat. It also appears that it is currently mainly using wind based attacks from his wings and its developed claws will most likely easily cut opponents to shreds.” Great. Good to know if I were to have to avoid an attack or something. Moment later an evil laugh echoed into my mind and I attempted to concentrate on the task at hand so I would not be distracted. Seeing Farore unfazed by any of this however was a good moral booster to act under the same pretenses as her tamer. Nayru shrunk a tiniest amount but continued her analysis as the battle between Bunny’s digimon and the large beast moved forward. “As a demonic type digimon I highly doubt that its skin is easily penetrable by anything other than light based attacks. Those punches must be rather powerful”
“Their team combinations are well executed. I wonder how long they will be able to keep that up.” Din commented as her eyes followed the black dragon. For a moment I had wondered what Din meant by that but I then connected the dots, figuring that since Din was not a good team partner over solo battling she expected Bunny’s team to falter eventually on the combinations despite the fact that she complimented the execution. I barely caught when the monster expelled a red dome around him and repulsed the yellow fox. I pursed my lips as that looked as if she hit the ground rather hard, realizing that it could have easily been any my digimon. The other demon then landed to the ground looking worn which was a good sign but it looked ready to finish the job on the yellow fox. However as it moved I could tell that the movements it made became rather sluggish, even the beam of energy it emitted was not aimed accurately. I think all my digimon noticed this as well. Regardless the demon then rocked forward on all fours and I saw a bright red light come from it. Assuming the worst, I ripped my eyes away and kneeled down to lower both Farore and Din’s heads so they would not see this either. Nayru had lowered her own head herself so I was not concerned with her.
I heard Bunny call over to me for an assist and Din was more than willing to jump on that call to action. I felt Din attempt to move but kept her head down as I looked upward to see what had happened to Bunny’s digimon. They had been standing, but they were shaking in place and it appeared as if they were unable to move. Perhaps they were pinned down? “Din, we need a smokescreen.” Nayru stated as she seemed to understand what was going on. Din was not pleased however she had done as Nayru asked and released a smog of black smoke. I do not know how effective this would be but I released both Din and Farore from my grasp who both subsequently looked upwards towards the enemy. “Now what? Nayru.”
“It will likely attempt to blow the smoke away and attempt to make eye contact. It is already taken major damage so we should finish this swiftly.” I swear I could almost hear Din smirk as she dashed forward at the first chance she got. Lagging behind, Farore followed suit with a peculiar shine coaxing her horn. As they left my side I felt the heat of the area settle back in to my dismay. I raised my hand to cover my mouth so I could breathe better and saw a sharp beam of light shoot forward to make a direct hit into the demon’s face. I was assured that the following bloodcurdling roar was due to an after effect of confusion rather than any real damage that may or may not have been done. I blinked momentarily to allow the darkness to clear my sight and concentrate on Din who was moving around in the shadows with fluidity and silence. The Dragon demon thing did not seem pleased and began to flap its wings rebelliously which blew away the smog and allowed a cooling wind to settle in once again. Nayru took this opportunity at this exact moment to time her screaming puppy howling. I figure that the deafening pitch was to awaken Bunny’s Digimon from whatever they were in and glanced over to the respective digimon to check if it worked. As I had, I saw Din leaping upwards with her claws at the ready from behind the monster. With no hesitation or sign of warning it dove down and hit the demon as she landed on its back, following up with several movements that I was sure were slashes at the tough hide of the beast. Din was trying so hard to tear into the beast and soon enough Farore moved in for the assist as she ran forward without fear with her horn to plunge into the belly of the beast who was confused enough not to anticipate it over the nuisance on its back.
I think that became the end of it as the monster roared a final time before its form was dissolved into a familiar sight of a compact form of data that unraveled itself in six different strands. Din began to free fall but did not seem to care as she was absorbing the data of the whatever it was. Farore and Nayru moved forward to do the same to which I made an effort to walk over to Bunny to figure out what to do next. I looked around casually as I approached and my eye caught onto something on the other side of the room where the monster was perching before. I think it was another path. Interesting. “You okay?” I asked as I walked up to Bunny’s side, putting my right hand to my hip. My left side was still rather sore from the pelting from before so I was attempting not to move much on that side. I left Bunny to care for his Digimon if he wanted to but I think after the data absorbing thing that Nayru explained to me, I think that they would be fine. Nevertheless I pointed to the opening on the other side of the room to bring his attention towards it. “I think that is the way forward. If you and your digimon are okay to move on then we should start moving in that direction.”

the earthquake moments before seems to have unsettled more then just the ground. from the closest active volcanoes come a furry of molten lave spewing from its top, the fragments of the hot liquid raining down all around you while large amounts of lava roll down the sides in a faster speed than you'd think.

I'm a mountain lion! Rawr! | there a momentarily lull in the action, but bunny knew better than to think stuff like that lasted very long. every time people stopped fighting in a fight it was just to see how beaten and bloody someone was or to pull their pants up. afterwards it was back to the same thing until somebody couldn't fight anymore. bunny also knew that his team wouldn't be losing this. devidramon may have been the big bad wolf and all, but the big bad wolf never won anything. yeah, he may have terrorized and won a couple battles but in the long run he was one shot to death or left for torture in prison. even with bunny's three little pigs paralyzed in fear he could always rely on the house made of bricks to back him up. ava responded to him swiftly, as if she had been waiting for this to happen. bunny put that out of mind though, instead thinking that she must have had all the faith in him -- but she probably also understood that when your digimon are paralyzed they are paralyzed and there was nothing he could do about devidramon pulling cheap tricks like that. because that's how beautiful people thought, right? nice and stuff?
whatever. ava's team of mostly beautiful digimon assaulted the devidramon while his stood there immobile. as this was happening bunny casually began to walk forward, the devidramon itself did not move much from its position but that was probably to be expected given the fact that astra had sheared its wings. it was evident now that his digimon were capable of movement, which he guessed must have been because of something that ava's digimon did. sol the lopmon immediately turned around and hightailed it out of there, her eyelids sown shut by willpower as she moved as quickly as she could away. bunny got down on a knee to catch the running lopmon, wrapping his arms around it and speaking to it, "you fine, sol. that was amazin'." her big black eyes opened slowly and quivered as she tried to hold back tears that had come to surface from sheer shock. sol tried to speak to bunny but choked on the word. finally done tripping over herself she spoke, "b-..beautifully?" she rubbed her eyes and sniffled. " 'course, really beautifully." bunny saw the beginnings of a smile which was enough for him, so he stood up and looked over to ava's team that eliminated the devidramon skillfully. luna, although marred, got into a fighting stance in the event that her assistance would be needed. astra was being astra and no one has time to write what that things doing because it is perfectly uneventful and uninteresting.
the psychedelic rainbow had executed a finishing blow on the devidramon, which was cool enough. bunny hadn't run into a champion level digimon like that before, and before this he hadn't even ran into a vile digimon. the digimon disintegrated into data, which didn't look like anything more than particles in the air. would have been much cooler if it was shattered into a million tiny ribbons but whatever. bunny watched as the data dispersed and found its way to each of the digimon. even sol, whom was at his side, was the endpoint of a stream of data that seemed to invigorate or otherwise raise the spirit of sol. this must have been truly how massive amounts of experience were gained and how his digimon would eventually reach the adult level whenever that might happen. ava asked bunny if he was okay, to which he responded, "i'm a'ight." and began walking forward towards the passageway that he hadn't seen before. perhaps that would lead into the heart of the volcano where he suspected the flag to be.
"kay. i think we good." bunny first looked to ava, giving her a small smile in spite of the heat and what they had just gone through. maybe, if he was lucky, that was the guardian of the flag and this task was over with. he then looked over to luna, who looked tired and ragged but still had a look in her eye that made it clear she would be defending bunny and watching over him. bunny didn't check on astra, he knew that he was alright doing whatever it was he was doing by luna's side. bunny turned and began walking towards the passageway. as he neared the tunnel, one that looked quite similar to the one they entered in, bunny sighed as he realized that maybe they weren't as close to finishing this as he wanted. this was fun and all, but the heat was too much to be tolerated for extended periods of time. he grasped ava's hand lightly, hoping that somehow this would comfort him as he felt as if he would die of heat exhaustion or something.
as they walked, the elevation steadily increased and the temperature began to lower a little but it was still significantly high. finally they arrived at the top of this connecting tunnel, staring into a darkened sky. bunny was confused, he was under the impression that he was heading into the heart of one of the largest volcanoes in the abyss, where a flag was surely to be found. the fact that he now emerged from the other side perhaps was evidence that this was not his objective and that the volcano was smaller than he thought. didn't matter he guessed, as long as it was clear where they would be going. his shoes were now atop black sand, and as he looked through the haze he found an enormous volcano in the near distance without lava on its sides. it was definitely one of or the largest volcano in the abyss, to perhaps that was their objective. it also looked pretty dormant if the lack of liquid magma on the sides of it was any indication. he pointed. "there, ava. think thassit." a glint appeared in luna's eye affirmatively. sol's eyes widened, impressed by the massive size of that mentioned volcano.
the earthquake prior had effected this higher part of the land, too, as there was visibly cracks in the ground where the light of magma stuck up. a few lava streams and whatnot also snaked through the landscape, but overall it looked like a better situation. seems legit. bunny began walking before a distant rumbling sent a single, sharp vibration through the ground. sighing, the bunny muttered, "not again..."--"nooooo!" sol engaged in hyperventilating. however, there was no earthquake. luna spoke up, taking a couple long strides to get in front of bunny. "its not the same." she looked over to one of the few smaller mountains that lined the path to the large one. smoke billowed from their tops. "it's an eruption, bunny." fun. "dat mean we dead or somethin'?"--"not you." bunny chuckled as the volcanic ash coming from the top of the mountains intensified. what looked like balls of flame rocketed into the air, piercing the volcanic ash before reaching their maximum height and plummeting to the earth quite a distance away from their origin.
similar eruptions followed around them and lava began to race down the sides of the two nearest volcanoes. this would effectively sandwich ava and him between lava and more lava... which actually sounded like death. the ash was actually fairly retained above them, which was perfect given that airborne ash was far more lethal than slow moving magma. nonetheless, bunny removed his hand from ava's and pulled his yellow kerchief up over his mouth. "sol, calm yourself." it was almost like the lopmon's throat was closing and blocking its airways -- and it felt like it couldn't breathe. like an illusion where you felt like you were dying while you were dying. however it needed to stop doing that, because apparently luna figured that it might be useful. sol finally gathered herself, looking up to luna. she explained what sol should do, hoping that if she followed these orders that this would allow them to move forward.
sol quickly created and then launched several supercooled wind bullets at the various avalanches of magma. the viscous lava began to slow down as it was chilled to a temperature that was closer to its solidifying point. this bought them some time, but it didn't stop the magma that now rained down upon them. as the eruption continued on the raining lava only drew nearer and nearer to bunny and ava. bunny began to move forward, speaking to ava, "wanna save us? i'd love you forever...?" he smirked. maybe she had something so they wouldn't be endangered so much on the path to the largest volcano.

My digimon appeared relatively decent in terms of health but I suppose I will attribute that to Bunny’s Digimon and their contribution into the fight. Luckily they all appeared to be in better health than before thus I did not believe I had much need to worry for them. Nayru, Farore, and Din all gathered to where I stood while Bunny made an effort to catch up to his own. I did not blame him and merely nodded as he confirmed that we were done here. “Good job everyone.” A slight amount of praise could not hurt. That said due to my attention to the Digimon I was caught a hint off guard as I felt a warm touch grab my left hand. I blinked as I turned to see what had caught me only to realize that Bunny was the cause. Momentarily I had wondered why however I let it go despite the fact that it was causing more heat to coax my skin. In fact he had already swiftly guided me forward before I had a chance to say anything of importance.
For a moment I glanced to the yellow fox to see if she was going to attack me however I do not think she noticed. My own Digimon were looking on at the scene but because they were all recovering and focused on moving forward, they said nothing further as well. In fact now that I looked back to them, they all appeared to be concentrating on something as if something was plaguing them. How unusual. Even Din had such a curious expression on. The only thing that had ripped me away from wondering about them was the light at the end of the tunnel which meant that we were nearing an exit. My hope was that it meant that we were nearing the end for this flag so we could leave this forsaken wasteland. If I had my way however I am sure that the game would consider that too kind of an act for when we emerged from the exit tunnel I saw nothing that indicated the location of the flag. Once more I was greeted with the blackening red skies and the expanse of black sand below of feet. “Seriously?” I said this to myself, or I suppose to the game as well for messing with me. I had not even heard what Bunny was saying to me but I had heard Nayru.
“We are running out of time. This location is about to go volatile.” Delightful. I cannot tell if this is the game’s idea of a horrid prank or if the programmers designed this to make my life appear like a living hell. No matter I suppose. As expected before I could take another step the earth below me quaked with intensity. We were no longer in the tunnel so there was no longer a reason for me to protect myself from falling debris so I merely concentrated on keeping my balance. However the ground immediately stopped shaking to which I raised a brow. Were the game programmers being merciful? “Eruption!” No. Of course not. I looked up to the sky where the large glowing orange ball of mass was flying upwards signaling the start of another wild event I could only assume. I was already weary from the last few. I suppose now would be the time to ask the nerd. “Nayru!”
The pup looked to me and I could tell she was attempting to brainstorm. Her eyes were not focused and kept traveling as she addressed me. “Lava is highly viscous; however the degree of this lava’s viscosity appears relatively low comparatively based on my observations.” Din was glaring into the sky and while none of the lava had come close to hitting us yet I did not wish to remain standing here to wait for that to happen. “Okay what does that mean?” As I said this a cough surfaced from my throat, the smoke of the atmosphere attempting to smother me by forcing a lump in my throat. I attempted to pay it no mind and act normally but water did sound pleasant right about now. Regardless I imagine Din was thinking the same in terms of Nayru’s details. Or perhaps she did not wish to die in this manner and wished her to hurry. “Get to the point.”
Instead of arguing corresponding to what Nayru might usually have done when Din spoke, she persisted and decided that saving our hides were far more important. “Lava will flow fast and freely. Luckily it appears that this is basaltic lava thus it will merely take ten minutes or so to form walkable crusts from cooling as long as we remain patient. As long as we avoid the main flow I believe we will be safe.” I do not know how that helps us now. We could run back to the tunnel and wait for the lava to pass however who knows how long it would be for the eruption to subside? We needed to move swiftly. I released a large exhale which was somehow hotter than the atmosphere. Am I to resign to failure this time? What was Nayru attempting to figure out? Luckily it appeared that Bunny was buying us some time however what good could I possibly have done during this time? He had pointed out earlier the direction we should move in however despite the fact that lava was coming down as long as we were quick about it, I believe we should make it before the lava overruns our route. I was more so concerned with the raining pellets of molten lava.
Bunny appeared to be out of idea and was turning to me for help however I did not know how to react. I smiled to him and parted my lips slowly however I was speechless. “Allow me to attempt something.” I swiftly turned heel to face Farore who had spoken at the time. I did not expect that however Farore was known for being the most courageous of the three of my digimon. If she was willing, “By all means.” Farore nodded and began to dance, however her steps differed in that they appeared unusually complex for the stuff that Farore usually had done. Though hastily done her movements were precise and done in a way as if there was a chorus of music being played that only Farore could hear. Regardless I had a gut wrenching feeling that ripped my eyes from Farore upwards to see a large mass of lava overhead. This was truly a do or die situation and even as I thought that I could not force my muscles into movement.
In an instant several colored blocks surrounded us. During this time they swiftly adjusted around and planted themselves around us. Some formed a wall to our left and right while others aligned above us as if to create a provisional shelter of sorts that covered my sight of the falling lava. I heard a strange splatter sound so I assume it made impact but I did not want to stay around to find the answer to that in case the walls falter. I looked about to check if the others were coping adequately as well. “Excellent work.” Nayru praised but Farore did not end her movements. The emerald eyes gazed to me instead as she persisted however was slowly moving forward in the dance steps that almost appeared to look as if she was skipping. More blocks formed and gathered in the same fashion as the previous ones that shielded us from harm to which I comprehended what Farore was attempting to do. I shook my head at the recklessness however it could not be helped. Oh, I was gaining my movement back. A good sign. “Will you be alright keeping this up for an extending period?”
For a moment Farore did not answer as more blocks shifted to form an extended hallway of protection. Another moment passed and Farore spoke, “If you hurry.” I hesitated at this response. Farore was going through so much trouble to- “You heard her. Let us move.” I looked away towards Din and the grey pup was already dashing towards where Bunny directed and the blocks were forming a passageway for her. I suppose we should do the same. Farore better not die because of this. I should buy her treats after this is done with. Nevertheless that is something to think of at a later date. “Bunny, let us go quickly.” I did not stop to hear a response as I made it a point to rush forward, if not to chase after Din then to not force Farore to hold this construct any longer than she must.

I'm a mountain lion! Rawr! | this was not cool. wow a pun already i can't... whatever. bunny didn't actually know what to do, and as a sort of last resort actually put stock in ava somehow pulling out some miracle to make this able to be crossed in time. considering the fact that neither him nor ava was usain bolt (this was probably more than 400m anyway), this did not seem all too practical. he felt a sort of pressure upon him that wasn't quite the same as the lumps in the throat or the heat causing his skin to moisten with sweat. instead, it was more like... "hey, you forgot about astra!" and yeah, maybe he did forget about astra. maybe it was an outside entity that totally forgot to mention it or whisper into his mind about it, but let's not blame anyone. so bunny looked around for astra, because he wanted to know where it was. finally his golden eyes locked onto a dark koala flying through the sky, a black being leaving an afterimage of red as he sailed through the air with those tiny little wings. it seemed to be moving forward to scout ahead or something, or at least to save itself. seemed rational. luna noticed this as well, but her stare at the phascomon did not reflect any anger or harsh feelings.
meanwhile, bunny got an earful of encyclopedic information. that puppy thing apparently knew every single thing there was to know about lava, which was more than convenient. it was missing that one thing called a solution but hey maybe knowing that the lava was bath-saltic would somehow come in handy later or even save their life in an unrelated incident. not this one, though. he turned his head to ava and nayru, noticing that ava had smiled like this was all good. he must have missed something. they were totally dying, right, and luna had just lied to him a moment ago? now at times like this all bunny wanted was her to say something so whatever fear was getting close to being shown would be suppressed. and just because he wanted her to reassure him or have any idea it seemed that the blob of color would try to help. that actually sounded like the exact opposite of what he wanted, because that thing may have been link but it was pre-adventure link and what did he do?
as it turned out, this thing was dancing. usually bunny's mind would have made some bizarre comparison to make this sort of humorous and acceptable to himself. but then again this was a reptilian manifestation of psychedelia dancing as a remedy to lava raining down on them. hm. that's how penguins must have danced. this was definitely pretty trippy. not only was this thing an incredible dancer, it was a psychedelic architect, a psychedelic builder, and their savior because it created randomly colored blocks that looked like something from a children's show. definitely the trippiest thing ever. get that thing a medal. bunny chuckled as the blocks created a hallway and looked down the passageway. "love you forever, rainbow thing." bunny looked back at farore. that medal would have to wait as he was being urged to run forward. luna quickly pushed bunny forward and sol ran as well with her ears flailing behind her.
bunny ran forward, ignoring all fatigue and the heat to run across the generated hallway as fast as he could. he had faith in that rainbow thing and all... but it was a rainbow thing, there is only so much faith one can have in such a being. his digimon paced alongside him and they finally reached the end, panting a little but trying to regain themselves. bunny pulled his jacket off, casting it to the side. even with just his white t-shirt on it was far too hot. he needed to finish this as fast as he could. "yo ava. sorry 'bout bringin' us out here," this, unlike previously, was actually true regret. still, they couldn't just stop here and had to find that flag. luna nudged bunny and spoke, "let us continue, bunny. astra isn't far ahead."--"i need a minute, bro."--"you fine, girl."--"nuh-uh. i'm dying like forreal forreal. you don't even know." whatever. didn't need her acceptance to keep going on this.
there was astra. he was standing up on higher ground across from a strange fire digimon thing. another enemy? he wasn't all hype on the concept of another battle because it seemed like they just fought something but at least this thing wouldn't be erupting with lava everywhere. (checking its moveset to making sure i didn't jinx myself..). bunny grabbed his digivice and loooked up the information on the thing. luna, however, apparently knew that this thing was champion level and understood that astra was in a great deal of danger if it were to face off against that flarizamon alone. luna closed the gap between her and astra quickly. the flarizamon had a thing against yellow foxes or something. understandable, racism was a thing. raising its arms into the air, flame engulfed it and began to circulate its body. the circle of flame expanded and stretched into the air, creating a pillar of flame. bunny, in the meantime, read some facts on this thing. the entry said nothing about burning everything in sight with fire pillar things. apparently that was negligible?
renamon sprang into the air, spinning before holding its arms out to its side. a barrage of shards were at first created around her. moving her arms forward, the shards all sprang forth at the fire dragon and pierced the fire pillar and stabbed into the body of the digimon. it let out a screech of pain but retaliated by launching the pillar anyway. unable to do anything about this massive amount of flame, phascomon strafed backwards to avoid it. as luna landed, the flame reached and scorched her body. staggering back, luna fell to the ground singed and not moving at all. it was just a matter of time until she degenerated, but bunny didn't know what to do about that. astra glanced at his fallen comrade before sending a barrage of sleep waves at the flarizamon to make it drowsy.

ICY_MOON
Din and Nayru were running forward in an equivalent pace together and my eyes trailed behind them as they had. I wish that the same could be said for me but I was well aware of my body's limitations. Even if I had not before I had now. I swear that my body was overheating from these temperatures and I was placing further exertion on myself and my aching muscles to save my digital life. On top of that we were sprinting for far longer than I thought we would have and that alone caused my further worry of Farore. Neither Din nor Nayru appeared concerned however and for that I wondered why. Nayru at least should have been. Never mind that. My chest is beginning to hurt and my heavy breathing was not helping my situation.
Ironically the light at the end of the makeshift tunnel was a welcome sight because that meant that we were likely nearing the end of our trials. I could see from where I was that the lava storm was not affecting outside this area so I suppose it was safe enough. Once everyone else crossed the threshold, I glanced over my shoulder to check if Farore managed to keep up despite being limited by dancing. Unfortunately I could not see her but I still retained some manner of hope, which reminded me I am about to keel over. Quite literally I felt my body on the verge of collapse. I held myself together somehow by supporting my hands on my knees as I bent over to help recover my breath and saw that Bunny's jacket hit the ground quite a distance away from me. Why did we choose to explore this place again? "We must keep moving." No. This heat is killing me. I want to log out and go back to my air conditioned suite now. I should respond to Din regardless but I need to catch my breath.
I heard Bunny's conversation and this made me chuckle. I shook my head at the silliness as I assume this was how Americans spoke for some reason. "Do not worry yourself about it. Besides we are almost done." I did not know if what I said was even true however I sure hope it was. Even at a time like this Bunny never fails to amuse. Nevertheless I attempted to stand upright again when the sound of footsteps were heard. "Bunny's team is moving forward. I suggest we do the same." I would sigh but my breaths were too heavy to have sounded any different to be distinguishable. "Yeah, got it." I took a final glance backwards to check for Farore however again I was left without her in sight. I suppose I should concentrate on the task before me however. I followed Bunny's trail and within moments Bunny had stopped. When I reached him I understood why.
"You have got to be joking." No of course not. The game is out to kill us. What other reason would there be another large dragon looking thing blocking our paths? I think simply being near it caused my body temperature to rise another few degrees. In addition the thing is wrapped in flames. How are we to hit it? "Nayru, need a game plan." I said to the pup. Nayru stood there silently observing as she always had and looked to Din momentarily then to me. "Flarerizamon is a Champion Level Data Digimon whose whole body is wrapped in flames. Without Farore it will be difficult to hit because Din and I focus on physical attacks." From the corner of my eye I saw the yellow fox had dashed past Bunny to engage in the battle first. If Nayru had not caught Din's sight and said what she did I was positive that Din would have done the same. My irises moved towards Bunny however he was holding his digivice to get more information. I should begin doing that one day rather than rely on Nayru.
Thought for another day. "What else?" Nayru shook her head. "The flames of his body are his high temperature skin burning, but because his skin has a surprising regenerative power, he can continue to burn until his breath is extinguished." Great. So Din and Nayru really cannot hit it physically without being damaged in the process. What can we do then? As I thought on this I heard a loud screech followed by a bright flash on the battlefield. When I looked up a pillar of fire was there that caused my eyes to widen. If it was not already hot enough. One minute. Was that Bunny's fox in those flames? "Damn. Din, go in and assist." Din's claws outstretched and I could not see her face but for some reason I felt as if she was smirking. "You do not need to tell me twice." Within seconds the field was then covered in that familiar thick purple cloud of poison that Din breathed which I suppose would be as effective as one can anticipate. After our discovery with the smokescreen it would be best not to use it here in this case.
The monster of a thing appeared to be affected by the poison as it noticeably cringed but perhaps it is due to what the koala looking thing was doing to it. It also did not seem pleased. I believed it flailed about momentarily then unleashed a roar. Another bright flashing light appeared but this time it was literally a flash rather than a flare but the thing was this one came with a powerful wave of pure heat. Delightful. As if I was not hot enough already. I swear I am sweating a river right now and that is not attractive in the slightest. If this thing does not get me then the dehydration likely will if that is even an aspect in this game. Knowing how this game is out to kill me however it probably will be. As I regained my vision after that flash Din was nowhere to be seen. I suppose that is to be expected. Din often moves in silence and the cloud of poison was not helping me locate her. Not that it makes much of a difference. I could not help even if I had known.
Next thing I knew that big flaming monster looked as if it was fumbling around and about to topple over. I was about to question this but I barely saw Din jumping backwards after emerging from the ground near the thing’s right food. She must have done something to the ground below that beast. This battle is moving quickly but at least this one did not have wings or else that tactic would not have worked. The monster groaned or something and with a brief inhale it caught sight of Din. The cloud of poison lightened after the inhale so I could only guess that it was badly poisoned now. Nayru then screamed which caught me off guard blinked in reaction but then as my eyes redirected to the battle I saw a few bolts of fire being shot towards Din, grazing her left paw instead of making a direct hit on her. Din landed on all fours however her left side where she was hit immediately gave out under her. “Din!” I called out to her and Din slowly attempted to get back up. The creature then turned its attention towards me and I made eye contact with the thing as it had. This was probably not going to turn out favorably, especially without Farore’s long distance attacks. I think Nayru saw I was in trouble however as she began running and screaming away from me, somehow drawing the monster’s attention away from me and towards her.

I'm a mountain lion! Rawr! | the scene before the two groups was actually pretty grim; luna, team beautiful's breadwinner and the one whom he knew to carry the team on her back, seemed to be for the most part incapacitated and no longer capable of continuing combat. nayru, the intelligent coach of ava's team had identified the fact that direct contact with a being like this would be undesirable and thus other means of attacking should be found. bunny drew the same conclusion, albeit a bit late as he had to scan over the digivice entry to come to the same conclusion. nonetheless, astra knew his limitations and moved to deal damage despite being restricted by the inability to make direct contact. astra had converted inner data into the form of waves before sending them towards the flarerizamon which made no visible effort to dodge or somehow negate the impending ailment. drowsiness began to set upon the mind of flarerizamon, however a digimon with a spirit and willpower as that would not so easily succumb to such a technique from a rookie. emphasis on willpower, for that was quintessential for one reason or another.
bunny didn't know what avalyn was up to or how she intended to help him, but for whatever reason as he glanced over he could not locate any of her digimon aside from the puppy. he supposed that it didn't truly matter what it was they were doing as long as they ended up victorious somehow. the rainbow thing had disappeared, probably never even caught up due to having to create a hallway for them to have even got this far. but that was inconsequential all the same, for all that bunny considered important at this moment was establishing a trump card and hoping luna would stay alive to see it through to that point. the trump card part would be simple enough if sol were to cooperate with his wants, however whether or not it would choose to do that was questionable given just how stubborn sol was. bunny was about to speak to her, she was now hugging his leg as a form of resting instead of moving forward with combat, when all of a sudden poison began to flood the battlefield . at first bunny didn’t know exactly what to think of this... but soon enough he caught onto the fact that this was the doing of one of ava’s digimon.
luna, upon the ground with her fur singed at the ends, cast her half-closed eyes up to witness the toxic mist filling the air above her. as she was luna, she did not get excited or scared - in fact she seemed to just peer through it interestedly. her breath was shallow but as she continued to breath she noticed that no effect was beset upon her as she inhaled what had the appearance of poison. she tried to move her body but was met with definite resistance in the form of soreness and near-complete lack of feeling in her limbs. the poison may not have affected her but the flames had done quite a number. still she tried to come up with the strength to bring herself up, attempting to ignore her body’s pleas to degenerate to save herself. if only crosswire hadn’t disabled digivolution she figured she might reach her next form now. it was that strange feeling within that felt like a hidden power was near the surface. perhaps it didn’t matter, but she didn’t want to degenerate. luna turned her head towards the flarerizamon, noticing quickly that it seemed riddled with fatigue. it also cringed due to being subject to that poison. the group was suffering presently so it was clear that going straight against this thing would be foolish and result in being stopped in their tracks. this method was much better, though it was a method luna herself was not great at. still, her eyes betrayed a hidden will to participate and protect bunny even in her current state.
sol did not let go of bunny for one moment, wagering that if she were to let go the flarerizamon would not hesitate to incinerate her. bunny did not intend to tolerate this at all for her ranged attacks would be what could turn the tide against the enemy. flame spouted from the flarerizamon as it, with the passion of vengeance, attempted to destroy the gazimon. said digimon may not have epitomized beauty like all of bunny’s digimon, but he didn’t want to see it have to take on this thing with just astra supporting it. “ey sol, step it up.” he shook his leg violently, the lopmon letting out a cry of defiance that sounded almost like a whimper for mercy. she still tried to sound like this was all okay, like she was still a real gangster that would stand tall against everybody. “nah. i’m tired bruh, can’t do it. astra’s got it, really--” “kid, i’m not playin’. i’ll abort you ‘n’ feed ya to that ugly dog.”--”mmm. don’t joke about dat, bunny..” bunny didn’t actually want to deal with this thing, but he knew that he would have to. sol talked a lot and that was almost a shame because its bite was ten times as bad as its bark. whatever, more important things were at hand.
for instance, ava over there looking all fine drenched in sweat. she seemed to be in mild distress, and even though this distress was over a very ugly dog he didn’t enjoy seeing it. perhaps sol would notice this as well and feel inclined into action, but that was a long shot. the flarerizamon, for some strange reason, had lost all focus on astra, luna, and gazimon and instead was now intently staring at ava. “ava.” he spoke under his breath, the battle’s toils, his worry, and his fatigue weighing it down to a mere whisper. nayru, the cute puppy, began running off to the side and letting loose a howl of sorts that distracted the flarerizamon from anyone irreplaceable onto itself. quite a heroic act, but in this situation heroics would only go so far. bunny knew how fights worked; it wasn’t heroics or cinematic victories that truly happened. it was whoever had grinded the hardest beforehand and whoever was fixing to pull the most tricks.... or whoever shot first.
he hadn’t even noticed that sol had left his side. “sol?” he asked, looking down to find that the digimon wasn’t there. seriously though, did it run or something? he tossed that thought aside to glance up, finding that his enemy was sonic the hedgehog. rolling into a ball, the flarerizamon now sped across the ground past luna despite being tired and poisoned. its target was none other than nayru the brave little puppy thing. it was so cute and cuddly, he didn’t want to see that thing get hurt either. luckily astra had apparently developed a crush on the digimon or something.. or bunny couldn’t think of another reason it would do what it did. astra’s body was covered in crimson aura as it always was when it intended to move quickly. the koala cut off the flarerizamon, the flaming skin of the digimon colliding with the tiny koala and causing it to slide across the ground as flarerizamon’s momentum gradually fell. the phascomon’s face was victim to, at first, first degree burns that caused the point of impact on the phascomon to begin to disintegrate.
the impact dragged astra back until finally flarerizamon stopped and sprang from its spherical form. the phascomon had taken the hit full on and that was evident by the deep red lacerations and burns that covered its upper body. “beautiful,” bunny whispered, staring wide-eyed at his phascomon. the flarerizamon’s eyes were half open and poison continued to eat away at its health, but as it stood over the koala all of that seemed not to matter. bunny was confident that this would be settled by ava’s digimon, however luna didn’t like that idea all too much. luna stretched out on the black ground, cringing as the urge to degenerate beckoned her in the form of pain. luna managed to scrape herself up to her knees, and then finally to her two feet. she staggered back, catching herself and staring at the back of the flarerizamon which stood over the phascomon and the nearby salamon.
“farewell,” the flarerizamon sounded exactly like how you’d think a humanoid fire dragon would. astra didn’t reply, simply because he never talked but whatever... it is more dramatic if you believe that he just didn’t speak due to shock or something. white beams of light began to cover the body of renamon with a grid-like pattern. after the pattern engulfed the entire body of luna, its appearance was rendered to something entirely different. she glanced up, her eyes finding the lopmon that stood quite a ways away from the scene. it seemed to have continued forward a little up the volcano for one reason or another. it was one of those moments where, just by eye contact, intentions were communicated. luna must have thought it’d work out. “kohenkyo.” luna whispered to herself. her posture was completely restored, but instead of a yellow fox standing there was a humanoid flame dragon with its skin constantly burning. while this may have only been the product of kohenkyo, it gave luna the exact image of flarerizamon. this illusion would work in distracting the flarerizamon from preying on astra... how long she couldn’t be sure. any time would allow the poison to progress and the drowsiness to take over more of its mind. any time at all would be desirable, it’d be beautiful.
“flarerizamon,” luna affected her voice to mirror flarerizamon’s, which apparently was enough to get its attention. the enemy glanced down upon its opponent, snorting wisps of flame from its helmet-thing before turning around to face what called its name. “do you have a problem with them?” luna felt like she was coming off like bunny, which probably induced a giggle fit from him. actually, it did. bunny would have had to add a little flair into that sentence but it sounded enough like him to amuse him even at this time. “why? have a problem with me?” bunny would have been trying to conceal a smile right now if this thing wasn’t a level over renamon. such confidence would get shut down so quick. bunny locked onto sol, who was running around with her ears flailing behind her. what was was she doing, really... at least he found her. luna let out a laugh that was deep, the sort of laugh that you would think would come from a flarerizamon. “indeed.” the retextured luna produced more illusionary flame that surrounded her like an aura.
if this was like anything else, the flarerizamon would totally say, “i’m not afraid of you,” right? “i’m not afraid of you.” oooooooh. okay maybe that wasn’t too extraordinary and just happened to be very predictable. luna noted that it was nearing sleep and yet continued on as if that wasn’t nearing. astra’s sleep waves, with a direct hit like that, wouldn’t fail to eventually cause this thing to drop to the ground. “of course you aren’t.” it was dozing off. right there in front of her. “so fight me?” if only this thing was viximon, i mean it’d be absolutely perfect. bunny was the proudest woodland creature in the entire world and all that seriousness from a couple moments ago had completely disappeared. just. so. beautiful. the flarerizamon didn’t think it was quite so beautiful and began to engage the disguised renamon to make sure that it was known that it wouldn’t get walked all over like that. sol began charging from behind, slowly making her way to astra and nayru. the flarerizamon slowly stomped over to luna. bunny knew that luna wouldn’t be able to stand up against that thing, but it looked like they were finna have some god-tier fight. sort of why luna was half-redeemable in the first place.
sol needed to hurry up. she wasn’t hurrying up. flarerizamon sprang forward, the flames around its body growing before it utilized flame hit to shoot a barrage of bullets at the disguised renamon. renamon observed that the shots were all badly fired, most of which she didn’t even have to move to dodge. one of them flew pretty close to her, but as she stumbled forward she sidestepped that one without it disturbing her disguise. the flarerizamon charged forward, launching a point blank burst of fire that propelled the renamon backwards. as the flame slammed into her, the disguise first faded and it was revealed that renamon had been the one keeping up the retexture. as she shot backwards she reverted back into viximon and slammed into the ground. quite a blow, but hey, it seemed to have served the purpose that luna wanted. the flarerizamon was amazed as it stared down at the viximon. it growled, obviously angry that luna hadn’t been finished and even drew him off his second victim, astra. on top of that, he was only getting more tired and his vision was blurring and the only thing keeping it awake at this point was its body revolting against the poison.
lopmon ran right past astra with her cheeks all puffy, clearly having had stored a lot of breath.. exhaling a second later and coming to a stop, nine supercooled air bullets were shot from sol at the flarerizamon. the digimon was struck in the back and fell to the ground as the bullets landed one after another dealing sharp ice and wind damage. bunny was impressed by how this attack, obviously very effective against this thing, managed to knock it over like that. of course, this alone would not stop the digimon even as it drifted to the brink of sleep. sol kept running, breathing in once more and cooling the air in her throat. jumping forward, she landed on her ears before using them to bounce upwards over the top of the fallen flarerizamon. as she was launched over the digimon, she straightened out her ears to float downwards and faced the digimon. three more supercooled air bullets pounded on the back of the flarerizamon that knocked it down onto the ground.
astra knew better than to leave lopmon alone on this. sol may have been powerful when she got lucky, but it was just that -- she had to get lucky. astra shot forward, his front legs limping a little as they were in great pain from taking the brunt of flarerizamon’s somersault. the aura around astra intensified as it neared the digimon, a paralyzing poison secreting from the koala and infecting the aura. astra ran at the fallen digimon, slamming into the side of it with eucaly rush. the aura around him actually allowed him to not make direct contact with the flame, however as soon as this paralyzing poison was placed upon the digimon it immediately began to try to get up. with all those status ailments it was a wonder that the digimon didn’t completely give up at this point, but astra knew better than to think that it would be fine after that last dose of paralyzing poison. sol had landed on the opposite side of flarerizamon and now turned around to deal some more damage to it.
the flarerizamon began to stand a little but before its body, shaking from fatigue and two kinds of poison, gave up on it and it fell back down. astra wagered that this meant that it had finally fallen asleep, meaning that it could now employ its finishing move into the act of killing this thing. sol wouldn’t let astra get full credit for this, though, and from the other side of the flarerizamon began to spin around. astra closed his eyes, focusing on bringing dark waves from its body through all the pain that riddled most of its body. finally the phascomon opened its eyes and let out an invisible wave that began to cripple the digimon from the inside. the sleeping flarerizamon did not react but, being a champion, was resisting the attack and slowly the process of its death from within. sol was there, however, and moved to quicken this. “your ugliness will never be seen again!” sol finished spinning and launched an ice twister at the enemy digimon.
the tiny blizzard slammed into the digimon before erupting into larger wind rotations that coated the digimon in frost. the flames of flarerizamon all at once began to die, and as it lost the energy to regenerate its skin, it for a minute was nothing more than a fleshy corpse. of course the flarerizamon broke into data that dispersed and was absorbed by all digimon involved. bunny ran forward, no longer needing to fear for his life or anything with that thing defeated. he reached luna, who didn’t look too injured as a viximon. he scooped the digimon up, stroking its soft yellow fur and speaking, “luna, you ‘kay?”--”bruh you can’t forget me like dat.”--”i’m fine.” he smiled and continued stroking the viximon. turning back to ava, he tried to reflect a little more seriousness. “we moving on, yeah?” if they needed to fight anything else they would... he didn’t even want to think about it. at least ava and him were safe for now.
