| Darling, I want to destroy you. | It seemed that Sylver had rather a 'thing' for canyons and valleys and the like - Indeed, he found himself wary of those places with little of the open sky: It was rather difficult for him to put his finger on as to why - He supposed that it was because his digimon couldn't fly, and thus, couldn't focus entirely on fighting, if they had to worry about hitting a tree or something, but it just felt like there was something... Something more to it than that, and for the life of him, Sylver couldn't quite put his finger on what it was.
Still, Sylver eventually pushed such thoughts aside, and set about seeing if his partner in this so-called 'Capture the Flag' challenge was here yet. He had very little idea of what to expect, as far as that went - He'd heard that there were some challenges to be overcome in it, but what exactly that. Entailed, Sylver couldn't be sure. If it was a 'Capture the Flag' challenge, perhaps they'd be racing other teams to the flags? Or, looking at it, perhaps the challenge was the gorge itself? In any case, the red-haired tamer was conscious of needing to do well - In the BBS, this Ryan fellow had wanted somebody who could hold their own. He himself felt he was able to live up to that expectation, but the issue was more his digimon: Sylver had very little idea of what exactly they could do. He knew a few details, but they were mostly quite insignificant, as far as that went.
Said digimon were clustered around their tamer's feet. Their general mood seemed quite excitable - They enjoyed playing games almost as much as Sylver hated them doing it, so the prospect of what seemed to be a giant game was one that appealed to them immensely, although, as usual, Hel, the Biyomon, had her concerns: "What's going to happen if someone falls down there?" She pointed to the chasm, and after that, adjusted a feather on her chest nervously. Also as usual the Hawkmon, Sven, reckoned that he had all the answers: "We'd fly down an' save 'em, obviously!" "But... But what if more than one fell? We can't save everyone at once... We're... We're not strong enough..." Sven huffed: What a stupid question! The solution was so blindingly obvious! "We'll just have to save our own, Hel." "For once, I have to agree with him," This was Slade, a Hyokomon, who usually picked holes in everything Sven did, although, considering the stupidity of the little hawk sometimes, this was usually just, "Our loyalties should lie with our tamer, and with each other." In the face of such aggressive dominance, Hel looked away, at the ground, and scratched a wing with her claw. "I suppose... It just seems so.... Selfish, that's all..." The others said nothing to that - They had nothing to add, really - Hel was right, really. Merely protecting their own, as Slade and Sven had said, was, in a way, quite selfish, but what else could they do? It wasn't as if they could digivolve just yet, and that left them with just their Rookie stage as their strongest, and even then, it took all three of them to lift one person. It was a pretty hopeless situation, all in all, and that left them with just one course of action.
Still, the sentiment was there, at least: That meant that they did have the capacity to think generously, so all was not lost. Not exactly, in any case.
As they chatted amongst themselves, they had largely ignored Sylver, trusting him to tell them should he need them, which considering he was standing near the edge of the canyon, was quite likely. It fascinated him, though - This was merely a game: He couldn't die in it any more than he could fly in the real world, but the sight of the drop below terrified him all the same. Did the part of his brain that governed fear think this was real? e supposed that it must - If it hadn't been fooled by the digital landscape, why did he feel fear? This thought, along with many others of its ilk, made Sylver want... Nay, need to know how this place worked - What had been written in its coding, to make it so real? So deep? How had this effect been achieved with such splendour? Surely it took a lot of computers to keep this place running? Perhaps a few super-computers? Sylver didn't know, and had no clues on finding an answer, either, but still, he was driven by an intense desire to know.
Turning away from the edge of the canyon, Sylver perched himself atop a small hump of rock, and awaited the arrival of his partner for the challenge they were to undertake. He should just forget his other thoughts, for now, at least. They wouldn't help here, and he wouldn't be able to concentrate, either. No, his focus had to be on the here and now - Thoughts of the future and curiosity were for those nights where sleep eluded him, and nothing more.

Meanwhile, his digimon, Hel (Biyomon), Sven (Hawkmon) and Slade (Hyokomon) talk about what they'd do if somebody fell down the canyon.

The four of them moved through the trees as they strolled through chip forest and continued toward Task Canyon. Over CrossWire's BBS, Ryan had arranged to meet another tamer and his Digimon there in order to participate in the CTF (Capture the Flag) event, which was unfortunately a team event. Tamers had to partner up in order to participate, otherwise this tamer of Oblivion would have just done it by himself with only his own pack of Digimon at his side. It was unavoidable however, and thus he was going to meet up with Sylver Black whom was another tamer of Oblivion. The two of them and their Digimon would work together for the end goal of this event, he was rather curious to see what it would all entail including the end game of it. Wrath, the BlackAgumon, was right alongside Ryan the entire way. Step for step the little reptile kept up with his tamer, his green eyes were scanning the trees and forest as he was looking for some trouble. Wrath was always ready and willing for a fight and his personality showed it too due to him being rather rash and blunt. Ryan supposed it was good in the way that this BlackAgumon was determined to become stronger and Digivolve, and he himself would not mind seeing their abilities put to the test. Pride, the Kotemon, was by far the most reserved of his three Digimon as the masked and clothed reptile trailed slightly behind the group. His kendo sword was at his waist and his arms were down at his sides with the sleeves of his kendo outfit completely covering his kendo gloves. He was more relaxed in his movements, calm and yet focused. The Kotemon showed promise, the the reason he was nicknamed Pride was due to its overwhelming amount of arrogance and confidence it had in its own abilities. This was not a Digimon that sought to be more powerful because it believed it was the best already, only defeat could prove him wrong. Then there was Envy, the Lopmon, who was far different from the other two. She was outgoing and playful and all over the place. She only fell behind to run back up in place, sometimes going a bit ahead or even circling around the group. She was an eager ball of pure energy and no doubt would treat a fight like it was a game, however no matter how hard she tried she could not get Wrath or Pride to play along...which often lead her to bugging her tamer or other they encountered for some kind of entertainment. It was not long before they reached the edge of the forest and walked out of the trees and into the huge, gaping opening created by the rather impression canyon. Ryan stopped on the edge of the cliff and peered down in the valley below. It was a rather steep drop, however there seemed to be narrow stone paths lining each side of the canyon, the formation was natural of course...or at least programmed and designed to look naturally as if this had happened over a great period of time and was caused by some body of water moving through it. "Over there!" Envy the Lopmon exclaimed as she spotted the other tamer and his Digimon not far from where they were. It would seem that Sylver and his pack of Digimon had gotten here first, as was to be expected. Ryan had told him to pick the place and that they would meet up with them here, hopefully he had not been waiting too long...though Ryan had not really been delayed so he doubted it, unless of course the other tamer showed up early. The only benefit to this would be to scout the area. It was suppose to present some sort of challenge to them for this event after all. Now the tamer known as Zero, for that was his registered username, and his three Digimon slowly approached the other tamer and his team. His hands were still deep within the pockets of the cloak that he wore, a dark cloak that was draped over his entire body with a hood drawn over his head which cast a shadow upon his face. "Hey, it's me Zero. I take it you must be the user Black Cat?" Ryan's face held a blank expression, his voice was calm and almost monotone as he used both his username and that of the other Tamer's which was exchanged over the CrossWire BBS.[/style]

| Darling, I want to destroy you. | Sylver turned, at the sound of a voice. So, this was his partner, was it? How... Interesting. Sylver really didn't have much of an opinion in this guy - All he had to go on was his current appearance, his digimon, and his username, which really didn't say an awful lot about him... That said, Sylver supposed that it would have been quite awkward if he had known something about 'Zero' that was less superficial. "That's right." Sylver answered the question with a brief, slight smile. Just a hint of 'kindness' seemed to have a profound effect on some people, although it was rather more effort than he reckoned he could be bothered to go to. Indeed, Sylver made no effort to give an actual name - He didn't feel particularly obliged to, and, if he was honest, even if he had, he didn't intend to if this 'Zero' character didn't. In any case, he supposed that the one thing he was obliged to do was move the conversation on somewhat, otherwise, they'd just be standing there awkwardly: "So, I guess we're partners, then..."
If Sylver's pack had anything to add to this rather redundant comment, they said nothing, but then again, they were quite preoccupied with examining the other digimon present. Or at least, Slade was. Hel was glancing from them, to the surroundings, in a nervous sort of way, and Sven had become rather preoccupied with a cloud that had appeared in the sky, in the general way that clouds do. Still, the Hyokomon was attentive enough for the three of them (and if he wasn't, then there was still nothing he could do), and was turning over a few possible strategies in his head, though it was probable that, when a fight inevitably broke out, it'd simply be a case of who could hit hardest and fastest. Still, Slade discounted this thought - It was useful to predict what allies were capable of, whether it was so that he might inform his tamer, and thus fight better with them, or to fight against them, should this situation go sour. Of course, the Hyokomon was certain that the situation was under control, but you could never, never be sure.
Oddly enough, it was Hel, the Biyomon, who plucked up the courage to speak first: "...Hello..." The speech was soft, and barely noticeable, but she had spoken, nonetheless, and even if no one else heard it, her fellow pack-mates certainly did. Indeed, it was, although just barely, even enough to get Sven's attention away from his cloud, causing him to give a nod of greeting, and then look back to his cloud.

Envy always was rather outgoing, her personality was sort of the sore thumb of the group. "Why is everyone so quiet? It's like someone died around here or somethin'?" She laughed and twirled around before gesturing to the three birds like Digimon "everyone needs to loosen up if we are gonna play game of capture the flag!" She laughed again and looked back at her Tamer and the other two Digimon that were on her team and winked. Ryan just sighed and refrained from slapping himself in the face with the palm of his hand. Ryan cleared his throat as he felt like some introductions were in order since the two of them were going to be partners. They needed some form of communication if they were going to be working together after all. "Username Zero, as you already know. This is Wrath the BlackAgumon, Pride the Kotemon, and of course...you all met Envy already." He gestured to his Lopmon whom gave another twirl with her body, letting her ears twirl around her as she greeted the avian team. He tended to avoid giving out his real name, he saw no point in it really anyways. It was not like it defined him or gave up any valuable information. Right now he was just a beta tester in this so called game environment, he was user Zero. This 'Black Cat' person seemed to have a similar view, or at least he had no intention of giving out his real name. Not that it mattered, Ryan was not really here to make friends or get all warm and cozy with a tamer. There was a game and a prize at steak here and the two of them simply had to work together to take on the challenges ahead of them in order to reach the end of this canyon. While his BlackAgumon, Wrath, would have preferred to fight this tamer and his Digimon rather than team up, it could not be helped. Wrath would have his fulfill of fights and challenges on the road to come, that was certain. Even so, the BlackAgumon sized up the other team, his eyes locking onto the Kyokomon whom seemed just as interested in them and he gave off a slightly hostile growl. Ryan eyed Wrath out of the corner of his eye, but ultimately ignored the hot headed reptile. Pride the Kotemon was as clam and collected as ever, but he was still observing the other team, specifically the Hawkmon which was captivated by the clouds above more than what was happening right here and now. "So shall we get going?" Ryan asked as he motioned toward the canyon, he was eager to get started. He was not one for small talk after all, it was awkward, so the quicker they got past these introductions and straight to business the better.[/style]

| Darling, I want to destroy you. | Sylver frowned, watching the Lopmon's antics. That was sure to get annoying quickly. Indeed, she seemed to scare Hel, at the very least, who cowered behind her more confident companions. The other Oblivion tamer, judging by his sigh, apparently found her annoying, so at least Sylver would not be alone in that. Even so, he had to suppress a slight smile. If nothing else, This was going to be an interesting experience.
As Zero, as he wished to be called, spoke, Sylver realised that he hadn't actually introduced his team. That said, they usually did it themselves, so he didn't have to bother, but, as they clearly didn't intend to now, he supposed he should just get on with it. "This is Slade, the Hyokomon, Sven, the Hawkmon, and Hel, the Biyomon." He pointed at each of them in turn, although he assumed that the other tamer was likely worldly enough to know their species already, but there was never any harm in making sure, of course.
After they had been introduced, Sylver's avian monsters relaxed, just a little. Now that they were somewhat familiar with each other, even if it was just names, they felt that the other pack was much less alien and scary. Not that any of them really let their guard down, though. Sven, addressing Envy, spoke, in a somewhat more confident way than his teammate: "Hey! I like your style, bunny-girl!"
Sylver bit into his cheek to avoid laughing at that particular sentence: Perhaps if Sven had known what a bunny-girl actually was, he would've have been so confused when he saw his tamer's expression. Now, Sylver thought to himself, this wouldn't do at all: His ally wanted to get going, and all he was doing was standing and giggling like some inane school-child. Thus, he took a rather painful moment to swallow his laughter, return to his neutral expression, and to form a reply to the beautifully rhetorical-sounding question he had been asked. "Yes, we should get moving quickly."
