A black cloak was draped over every inch of his form and a hood was drawn over his head which cast his face in shadow. The tamer registered under the name of Zero made his way to the secluded ring in which he would begin his first sparring match initiated by the Tamer's Academy established by the CrossWire staff. Either he or his opponent would emerge victorious, even though it was only meant to be a simple training exercise he planned to do his best as he also wished to test the abilities of his three Digimon partners. This tamer of Oblivion was confident in his abilities, his skills and strategies. Still, there were always other styles and those that he was unfamiliar with, there were always powers he had not yet seen or could not quite comprehend. It was foolish to underestimate any opponent for it was unclear what they knew or what tricks they held up their sleeve. Each and every Digimon was rather unique. This would be a challenge that was for sure, and Ryan would welcome and enjoy it. Stepping up the the ring now, he reached up and pulled back his hood as he revealed his long, messy brown hair that covered his ears and hung down in his eyes. The dim light of the room in which the sparring match was being held lit up his skin and the black cloak that covered his body from the color of his neck and down. Grabbing the cloak by the collar, he pulled it up over his head and then threw it off and allowed the thick and heavy cloth to fall to the ground as he revealed his outfit beneath which was just a simply pair of jeans and a black t-shirt at the moment. As a twenty-one year old male he was fit and lean. He was tall and his chest was broad and firm as he held himself up in a straight position, keeping good posture almost as if walking on his toes for his footsteps were not heavy as he walked up the steps slowly and entered the ring. Walking over to one of the red markers, he aligned his feet up with it and faced the center of the ring and the other marker where is opponent would be. His three Digimon all lined up directly behind him. Wrath the BlackAgumon was ready and eager to battle, Pride the Kotemon was quiet and still as he always was, and Envy the Lopmon was having some problems remaining still and quiet since she was simply bored like always and wanted to play a game...she even treated fighting like it was nothing more than a game. Ryan had chosen a rather basic setting for the sparring session. He had the simulator set up just a plain stone arena and set the rules so that it was one on one, so basically it would be the best two out of three. Each Digimon would have a chance and be matched up against one of the opponent's Digimon. He was a patient individual most of the time, but still he was rather eager to see who the Academy would be assigning him as a sparring partner. Whoever it was he was at least looking for some sort of challenge, or something that would allow him to thoroughly test the abilities of his Digimon. That was not to say that he was not looking to win, even if it was only training he wished to prove to himself and everyone else that he was a worthy trainer.[/style]

once upon a time on the same side once upon a time on the same side, in the same game Once upon a time somebody ran Somebody ran away saying fast as I can, I've got to go! Another fight. This was going to be a recurring thing for her she assumed, and if that were to be the case she couldn't quite say she minded the thought. She enjoyed fighting with her pack, much more then she had thought upon entering the game for the first time as well as during her first battle. Was that a good sign? It possibly was due to it being a good motivator to strengthen her Digimon as well as herself in the process but she couldn't help but ponder her enjoyment for battle in a negative way. Maybe she was getting too into the idea of fighting anyone she could get her hands on with her fellow partners. Her Digimon seemed to have no complaints over the fighting and consistent visits to the coliseum, if anything they liked the idea and physical activities more then she herself did. Maybe her pack was rubbing off on her since her time here in this strangely real game.
The more then possible idea and thoughts clouded her mind as she shifted in her seat of the Locomon taking her away from the Oblivion home city. She could have easily taken a portal, one of the quickest and most convenient ways of transportation she had ever seen, but unlike the first she had time to spear. Transportation by train was something she was more then used to but the fact that, despite it's train like inner and outer appearance, what she was riding on was a Digimon just like the three laying around her feet. Probing the hard seat with her index finger Kate's nose wrinkled from a mix of confusion and disturbed thoughts. She couldn't shake the idea that she was sitting on the innards of a living creature, digital or not.
The train ride hadn't taken that long though its time lapse was considerably different when comparing it to taking those quick portals. Never the less she made it to the coliseum yet again on time for her scheduled match. Unlike the first time she didn't know her opponent nor did she go looking for one on the BBS forum. She had just signed up for a sparing match with an anonymous partner, no specifics just a surprise. Letting her hand fall atop her Gabumon X head and brushing its fur down with a small pet Kate continued forward with no words spoken to her pack. They all knew what they were here for so why would she need to tell them.
Stepping up to her designated training room for the sparing match her foot steps slowed and the noise of the soft taps became a small echo. Her Digimon had already mastered walking with little to no noise from their footing, it was a skill she had yet to get used to but had gotten better at it with the small amount of practice she did. Getting to the final step the area's room came into focus; she had expected an extravagant or different location to be fighting in but as her eyes adjusted the look of the room was still rather simple with nothing strange about it. It was rather depressing to see – she liked the challenge of a strange environment, even if the odds were stacked against her.
Pursing her lips in a frown Kate's attention went to her Digimon as they took the lead in front of her, only to stop at the line painted on the ground. It wasn't until she stopped completely did she look to the opposite end of the training room to her opponent – the sight before her took her by surprise. He seemed... familiar; the physical features of the boy screamed out to her as déjà vu eclipsed her thought process. Did she know him? It was possible but if that were the case then who? A name stuck into her thoughts as she pondered the question, just one name and one face.
Tilting her head a little to the side Kate kept her eyes locked on the man before her. She hoped she was right and they did know each other or else this first impression of gawking would be in bad taste. “Ryan? Is that you?”

However, Ryan was not someone whom could just clear his mind and thus it started to wander. He was a computer programmer after all, he analyzed, observed and processed information. Right now his mind was drawing assumptions about this tamer he would face. They were all beta testers so perhaps he could expect someone whom was just as intelligent as he was when it came to computers, or maybe another game enthusiast. Of course there were those who got in through raffles, contests and lotteries. They were almost like wild cards and were meant to represent the general public as testers for this game. Of course there were the rich snobs whom had enough money to pour into a ticket for this opportunity. How he longed for the day when he was once making enough to be able to afford such expenses. Right now though he was just a student in college looking for a job. If everything worked out here though then perhaps CrossWire would offer him a steady job, he did get in as a beta tester through an interview after all. While he did not have to wait too long, his mind had already dwelled deep into his thought process. He just barely noticed the sound of approaching footsteps. In fact it was Wrath whom informed him that the opposing tamer and their team were here as the BlackAgumon let out a deep growl. His fingers flexed and outstretched as he flared his nostrils and bared both his sharp teeth and claws. Pride, the Kotemon, was silent but stared intently as he slowly reached for his kendo sword that was at his waist. Envy was the one whom chuckled softly and exclaimed, "oh look! Finally they are here!" Ryan opened his eyes to see the female tamer and her three Digimon whom just so all happened to be from the Gabumon family. It was actually quite the interesting choice in partners. However, he did a double take from her Digimon and back to her face as she seemed very familiar. Raising an eyebrow, he observed her familiar face. Soon she would verify his suspicions as she questioningly called out his name. "Kate..." He whispered softly in disbelief so that even she could barely hear it. Yes, it was her. He could tell now, while looking upon her in person was different than looking through a computer screen or observing a picture, there was no doubt about it. It was Katherine Palmer, one of his online friends that he had known for a couple of years now. They had become rather close in fact, though never physically like this due to the two of them living in completely different states, thousands of miles away from each other. And yet...here they both were now in this place, paired up as sparring partners. The odds almost seemed astronomical. They had not talked in about a month due to Ryan going off grid to interview for CrossWire and then he had to go through the long process of coming here and getting other things situated. During that time she must have also come here. It would seem that fate would bring these two friends here at last. How unexpected, but it was not an unpleasant surprise. "I must say, I never expected to see a familiar face here." He was still somewhat shocked and bewildered, uncertain of what to say in such a situation for he felt like all of his speech and language classes had never prepared him for such a scenario as this. "What are you doing here...or how did you get here? I mean don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to see you as well as finally meet you in person like this, but I must say I'm very curious as to how you ended up here." There was a small, friendly and pleasant look on his face. Meanwhile Wrath seemed kind of lost at the turn of events, Pride was still just observing and Envy seemed very amused and was grinning from ear to ear.[/style]

once upon a time on the same side once upon a time on the same side, in the same game Once upon a time somebody ran Somebody ran away saying fast as I can, I've got to go! Well this was one of those moments she'd never forget, one that would more then likely burn into her brain for years to come. Luckily her stares hadn't ended in a situation of awkwardness and apology on her part, though the fact that her small guess as to whom was standing before her as her opponent was something she didn't truly believe to be real. Out of the who knows how many beta testers occupying the CrossWire server he had been the person she was fighting in the game? The odds of this little pairing and meet up actually happening were so low she couldn't even assume a percentage for it, but she guessed even the digital realm was a small world. Her body was still, or rather she didn't feel like she was moving; she couldn't really tell, her mind had stopped for what seemed like a half an hour of pure shocked induced stand-by. A sudden rough tug on the dress she wore caused her to jump, jerking her head down a little before looking around until her eyes met that of Valar, her Black Gabumon.
“Are you alright, or do you wish to stare at our opponent for longer with no disturbance?” The sarcasm and judgment in the Digimons words caused Kate's eyes to roll as she brushed off the paw of the creature from her clothing. “Stop it, there's no need for you to talk to me like that. I just...” her voice trailed off as her eyes caught the boy on the opposite side of the arena, half expecting to see a totally different person standing there. She could feel her Digimons eyes on her, staring at the odd expression she could tell she was wearing on her face – she wanted to snap out of this stunned trance and take this as nothing but she couldn't, this wasn't nothing, and she couldn't stop how she was feeling any time soon.
Her teeth brushed and bit down on her lower lip as a smile quirked into her lips as the joy that had been held down by stunned silence slowly emerged from it's hold. It was Ryan, it was him in the flesh and blood – or whatever someone would call this digital construction of their bodies. Whatever it was, even if it wasn't truly face-to-face in the real world, the boy she had become close friends with years prior was right before her at long last. On occasions they had talked about how it would be like if they met but due to living in different states the idea of which was costly and something they couldn't quite do on whim. He was easily one of her best friends during her time of social isolation.
He was saying something, something towards her, but for the life of her she didn't catch it. She was too busy controlling the ever growing urge to tackle the boy to the ground and hug him in joy. Blinking twice her smile frowned in confusion as she tried to piece together the blurry memory of what may have been speech. Her efforts weren't doing anything but get her even more confused and waste time – she wanted to give into her emotions and just do as her body and mind pushed her towards. Seconds of pushing away these thoughts Kate finally forgot about restraint; dashing through the small arena, leaving behind her Digimon in a confused mess, Kate made her way towards Ryan before jumping up and hugging the boy as she laughed happily. “Hehe, I'm sorry but I just couldn't help myself!” she giggled in amusement as she stared at the boy with wide as and a wide smile, letting go of his body and tip toeing on the ground as she got off him.
“How did you get here?! I bet you didn't enter some silly old contest huh? You probably did something all cool, right?” she began, her words and speech quickening with her excitement. She could feel herself bouncing slightly as she stood still, “Oh wait! Did you ask me that first? I didn't hear you before... strange huh? Guess this surprised me more then I expected, though I didn't expect this. Not in a million years actually!” Taking a small breath Kate realized how fast she was talking and how strange she probably sounded. “I... I'm getting to excited huh? Should I calm down?”

In fact she seemed lost within her thoughts, he was not sure if anything he was saying or asking her was even registering. The only reason Ryan had managed to form a word or thought in this moment of complete surprise was because typically he was not the type of person to really have shock effect him. Always was he calm for the most part which allowed him to collect himself. Even if he was uncertain upon exactly what he wanted to say he could at least make small talk until his mind actually registered what was going on. In the blink of an eye it seemed that Kate went from standing still in awe to a full out sprint right at Ryan. The male tamer of Oblivion froze in his tracks, uncertain of what to do other than accept whatever she had planned which he assumed as going to be quite the hug. His arms opened up halfway, hesitating as he was caught off guard by her reaction. That was when all hell broke loose behind Ryan as his Digimon reacted. The tamer was uncertain about the events that occurred behind him as he was too focused on the girl sprinting at him, but he did hear quite the commotion. "It's a frontal assault!" Wrath the BlackAgumon roared as he drew his head back and outstretched his claws. The sound of Wrath alerted Pride the Kotemon as he swiftly withdrew his kendo sword and stood in a ready stance and looked around, completely bewildered by what was going on and unaware that Wrath was just overreacting. Wrath drew his head back and he unhinged his jaws and bared his fangs, flames forming in his throat as he threatened to launch a fire ball directly at Kate in order to 'protect' his tamer and counter the oncoming 'assault'. Envy, as clever as she was, was too quick however as she twirled around and yelled out in a playful voice. "Tackle hug!" The Lopmon glomped the BlackAgumon, tackling him to the ground and interrupting the attack before he could fire it. She then proceeded to cover his face with her large ears. "Calm down hot head!"Right around that time it was when Kate threw her arms around Ryan and her body up against his. He let out a small grunt of surprise but returned the hug by wrapping his arms around her back before she slipped away. Pride finally realized what was actually going on and just blinked before he straightened himself out and placed his kendo sword back at his side, pretending like it never happened. Wrath and Envy continued to roll around on the ground behind him. "I...uh...well...uh..." Ryan was a bit lost and had a hard time keeping track of just where Kate's state of mind was since she seemed to be all over the place, consumed completely by her excitement. She was literally speaking way too fast and not even really giving him enough time to say anything in return which caused him to start and stop a couple times, his hand half raised with a slightly outstretched finger. He finally just decided to let her wind herself down and run out of breathe. Once she finally seemed finished, he smirked slightly and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I think calming down just a little bit might be a good idea." He chuckled softly, she was making him feel a little bit uneasy but he did not really mind. It was somewhat awkward to meet her like this after all this time just seeing her through a computer screen. Still he knew how she could be and get excited, it was rather cute in a way. Had he not known her then this whole thing would have been overbearing and irritating, but of course she only acted like this because they did know each other and they were good friends. "I was interviewed for the position and I got in. That's all there really is to the story. They shipped me off to the Akihabara district, I registered for Team Oblivion, picked my Digimon team and here I am...standing here with you out of all places. It's actually quite nice to see a familiar face and to have someone here I know." Ryan removed his hand from her shoulder, noticing he had held it there for a bit too long. Casually he had his fingers flow through his hair, removing the strands from his eyes before he stuck his hand within his pocket.[/style]

She hoped she wasn't coming off weird or dumb, she was just excited and though she tried to restrain herself from doing what she did it had happened anyway. Maybe she didn't have much restraint or maybe she was just so excited the restraint she did have just got complete toppled over by how she felt. Either way it didn't stop her actions; she had darted clear through the battlefield and hugged the boy she had missed for the time they didn't talk. Thinking back on that now she easily guessed it was because he was getting prepared for being here in CrossWire. She was happy that was the case. During that time she had begun to think maybe she had done something wrong or something bad was happening in his life. It was one of those cases where she was glad to be wrong.
Taking small breaths to fill her lungs back with air after speaking as fast as she did Kate blinked in slight confusion as her eyes went to the Digimon behind the boy. They were doing... something. She couldn't quite put her name on exactly what nor did she really notice the three creatures until now, but whatever two of the three were doing it looked pretty silly. It took a moment for her to stifle her need to giggle at the scene going on unnoticed by Ryan but as she noticed his hand on her shoulder and his words to reassure her to calm down her mind was distracted by his words and presence.
Letting out a small sigh Kate listed to what he said, nodding slightly to what he was saying. She knew he had gotten into the Beta testing line in a cooler way then just entering silly contests. Rolling her eyes Kate shrugged a little bit before letting out a small laugh, “Well aren't you just something special with your interview. You would do something like that to get it. No silly contests for you like how I got in, huh.” Her words were much slower then before, what she was saying could come out without blurring with each other and making her speech song like a jumble of nonsense. “You're on Team Oblivion too?” she said, silence filling in a few seconds before she spoke again. “Well isn't this just a bunch of coincidences rolled in one!”
As his hand left her shoulder Kate watched him move the hair from his face before glancing down for a moment. Now that the excitement was calmed down to a controllable level the entirety of what was happening seemed to dawn on her. “It is nice, you know.” she began, her voice softer then before as her hands scooped up her and parting it to one side. “To finally meet you after all these years, especially in such a place like this. I'm glad it happened...” Bringing her head up Kate smiled at the boy in front of her, a small blush coating her cheeks as she stared up at him. With the realization of this being their first face-to-face meeting Kate couldn't help but feel a little nervous, embarrassed even for her earlier actions.
“Kate! Is this still a match or what?”
The voice of her Digimon sent her attention and gaze behind her, her body turning to see the three partners standing where she had been a moment ago with confused and annoyed stares. A small smile quirked up on her lips as she mouthed an apology to them; she had sorta forgotten they had been there with her and left them standing in confusion as she dashed to meet Ryan. She had also forgotten the reason for coming this way as well – she was here for a sparing match. “I...” her words fell into silence as she glanced at Ryan, his Digimon, then back at him. “Yeah, it's still a match.. right?” she asked before taking a few steps back. Her eyes stayed on the boy for a moment before she turned and walked back to her position, an apologetic look on her face as she got beside her Digimon. “Sorry guys, I'll explain late alright? I promise.” she said, her voice a whisper for the three Digimon to only hear. digimon. gabumon x, psychemon, blackgabumon word count. 0720 words. summery. basically nothing. notes. letsfightnow.

While he knew her, it would still take him some time to warm up to her in person before he could really loosen up and let go. They had only known each other from the internet after all, and since Ryan was not very social he was typically even awkward and distant from most family members. In fact, Kate knew more about him than most of his family, probably more than anyone in his family in fact and including all of his friends. The two of them had grown close and had gotten accustomed to talking about anything and everything together. While he had figured that she had probably gotten here through some sort of contest, lottery or raffle, it just seemed so bizarre that she was here. What were the odds after all? Her odds of getting in like that was at least a hundred million to one or something like that. Ryan himself faced better odds, but they still were not all that great as thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, had all applied and been interviewed for beta testing by CrossWire representatives all over the world. It was almost impossible that the two of them were both standing right here at this moment, these two individuals that were once only connected by voice and computer screens. It was almost like fate had brought them to this point even though Ryan was not one to really believe in fate, it was still interesting to consider and think about. In moments like this there simply were no other explanations rather than fate in order to explain the astronomical odds. They were both in Oblivion too after all, the coincidences continued to stack upon each other...such as the one that had them paired up here and now randomly as sparring partners. Ryan closed his eyes and smirked, he had to admit it was quite nice to see her here as well. As he had already told her it was great to see a familiar face, to actually have someone he knew here that he could get along with. While he had his Digimon to already tag along with him and keep him company he liked the idea of also having another Tamer in which he could communicate with on a regular basis. It would seem like their conversation would be cut short by their Digimon though as Kate's interrupted and Ryan's were already gathering themselves up behind him again, Wrath was growling and ready as well as he stared at the opponent Digimon whom had asked about the match. "Yea...we still got a match to do."Opening his eyes, he shot her a smirk and then offered a proposition. "How about we hurry up and finish this here and then we can catch up afterward? We are both in Oblivion after all so we could get together in the city, or even in one of our Home Servers...how about winner of this sparring session chooses where we go to play catch up?" That seemed like a good idea since he himself was unsure where to really go or what she had in mind, that could all be decided by the victor once this was all over and done with. By then his Digimon should be someone spent of their energy and therefore more relaxed and quieted down. "The rules are simple. Three matches, one on one each time. Best two out of three wins. I suppose Wrath here will be going first from my team since he is so eager." Ryan shot a glance at the BlackAgumon whom stepped forward and flared his claws a bit before exhaling a puff of black smock. Wrath was always ready for a fight, wanting to prove his strength or push himself to the limits against a strong opponent in order to better himself and reach new heights. Pride the Kotemon continued to stand by quietly, not having anything to care nor did it really matter to him. Envy the Lopmon did let out a little grunt of disapproval, she was always bored and looking for something to entertain her short attention span, including a fight which she often treated as a game.[/style]

The small blush that showed on her cheeks had been a sign of her uncertainty with her prior actions when she had realized the boy in front of her was indeed Ryan Shepard. It was obvious she had gotten excited, probably too excited to be exact, but she wondered if her up front hug had been okay or if she had pushed some sort of boundary of personal space. She knew how social he was, or rather lack there of but even so that wouldn't be the case with her, would it? They were friends after all but maybe she should have taken things a little slower then darting through the arena to greet him so closely. If it was too much she wouldn't know unless she asked which at this moment didn't seem like a good plan to her – this was still a sparing match after all. Possibly later would be best.
Tilting on her heels a little once she got to her side and standing near her three Digimon her gaze stayed on the three similar beasts around her. She could tell they were all confused on what exactly had transpired between the boy and herself, even if they silently accepted the manner at this very moment. She would have to tell them more about Ryan, or rather that she knew him and that this was their first official meeting of one another. Sharing this wasn't something she minded nor was regretting, they were her family to her so they deserved the information even if they found little interest in once it was told. She'd do so later on when they were home and alone.
Hearing his proposition Kate smiled happily, nodding her agreement to his words. She wanted to spend some more time with him outside the arena they had been paired up to fight inside. “That sounds perfect!” she said, her voice raised loud enough for him to hear despite the empty distance between them. “Though I'm not sure if I can hurry up this battle super fast. My team likes to play with their prey.” Her voice lowered as she said that, though she was sure he could hear her last sentence. It wasn't as though there was anything else to block out her words. Her eyes drifted to her Gabumon X, Summer, as she stepped forward slightly so she was ahead of the rest. Placing her hand on the beasts head, petting the fur of its pelt for a second Kate let her hand fall to her side as she watched her friends Digimon step onto the field first.
Listening to what Ryan was saying Kate eyed the black reptile, her stare staying on it for a moment before she nodded her head and bringing her attention to the Gabumon X pacing in front of her. “Alright, that sounds good.” she began, “With those rules we may be out of here if one of us gets two wins in a row.” Staring at Summer who looked up at her for confirmation Kate nodded to her Digimon before watching it walk towards the BlackAgumon Wrath in the designated battle field.
Summer watched the BlackAgumon flare his claws, her tail swiping against the ground as the rest of her body stayed still. She waited a second to make sure this was it, that the battle had actually begun before pushing her hind legs against the floor and propelling herself forward towards Wrath. Her claws gathered fire energy within them as her body flung towards the opponent Digimon, outstretched and ready to hold and tear at the Digimon if contact was made. digimon. gabumon x, psychemon, blackgabumon word count. 0610 words. summery. He was actually looking quite forward to catching up to her, it had been a month since he last spoke to her after all. Besides that, they were good friends whom had finally come together face to face and thus he wanted to spend some time with her and get more comfortable around her in person. He knew they both had a lot in common, that is why they became such close friends to begin with, that is why they constantly confided in each other as well. That would all have to wait until after their sparring match though, and Ryan hoped he was not being too awkward for her. Hopefully it would not take him that long to loosen up and he imagined it would not. For now it was time to focus on the task at hand. Wrath was ready to fight and it seemed her Digimon were as well. It almost seemed like Kate was cocky in a way, but really she was just competitive like he was. That Gabumon X she had looked just as fierce and ready to fight as Wrath. It seemed to be a good match up, he was curious to see how it would turn out. He was more curious about her Digimon and their variety of techniques, or perhaps lack of variety since they were all sub species of each other. Wrath's green eyes glowed brightly as he let out a growl and watched his opponent intently, he was ready to begin whenever Summer was. The Gabumon X actually made the first move by charging and outstretching its claws as flames formed around it. Wrath's eyes widened as his pupils dilated. Letting out an eager grunt, he took off sprinting right at the oncoming opponent as he outstretched his claw as well and formed flames over it, utilizing his Pepper Claw technique. Wrath slashed to counter, his flaming claw clashed with Summer's as the two similar techniques just canceled each other out like two swords clanging together. The flames between their claws cackled and roared with the might from each digimon's charged flames. The contrast between the normal orange and hot red around the Gabumon X's claws was great when it clashed with the blue flames provided by the BlackAgumon. Wrath let out a growl as the attacks seemed to be on equal grounds, meaning he could not overpower but could simply counter and deflect at this point. Withdrawing his claw after countering, Wrath jumped backward as he propelled himself with his powerful legs. As he put distance between them his mouth opened and flames formed in the back of his throat as he prepared his next attack. "Pepper Blast!" He roared as three condensed balls of fire shot out of his mouth, sounding like the boom of a cannon as the spherical flames now all rocketed toward the Gabumon X, each one threatening to explode upon impact. As Ryan examined the fight, it was Envy his Lopmon whom came to his side and inquired, "so what was the hug fest all about?" The Tamer of Oblivion just glanced over at his Digimon and then at Kotemon who was silent but was obviously curious as well. Wrath had seemed to be the only one of the three who did not seem to care about the exchange of events that had just happened. "She is a friend." Ryan said softly before returning his gaze to the battle.[/style]

Summer had hoped her first move would have landed, if not just a little instead of being deflected as it had just now but that feeling was natural for anything delivering any sort of attack. Her claws clashed with her opponents, the sound of their natural weapons producing a scrapping noise from the forceful contact they made. She let out a small growl from the back of her throat as her eyes adjusted to the situation, she figured this was better then having an opponent who could be taken down easily. Her eyes grew larger from the light of the two different flames shining from both their attacks before returning to normal as she brought her arms back once the BlackAgumon withdrew his counter. The attack she had started as her first strike dissipated into small embers around her arms before disappearing completely, her attention set on the dark skinned reptile as her back claws dug into the flooring of the arena.
Watching the creature jump back Summer braced her body to either dart in whichever direction to dodge or, if unable to, brace for impact and damage to try and lessen it the best she could. Her ears perked up from the roar given off by the Digimon in regards to his attack to only be flattened back down once the loud cannon like sound erupted with each ball of fire being hurled at her. They both shared similar element control, their attacks – or rather what she had seen in the small frame of time – gave her an assumption of what to look towards in terms of moves: fire. Propelling herself to the side, one of the balls of fire landing where she was standing before, Summer dodged the first two flawlessly, the third nipping at the end of her tail. The pain stung and the flames burned out after a few seconds and quick swats on the ground; her dodge was well executed but only due to know bracing for it prior. If she had faltered she'd have been hit by at least one.
Her best bet was to get in close, though with those fireballs and possible other hazardous moves she'd need to stay focused and ready. With a small plan Summer headed head first towards the BlackAgumon again, her eyes trained on the creature in front of her as her hind legs propelled her forward in good speed. Opening her jaws up flames grew in her throat, forming in her mouth before being launched out in a circular form towards the Digimon she still charged at. She'd give him three to work with, same about as he had given her.
As Katherine watched the battle commence her eyes were locked on the actions of her Digimon and Ryan’s, trying her best to analyze and keep track of what they were doing and possibly planning out against one another. She had picked up on the similarity between both Digimons moves, or at least the ones she'd seen so far, but with only that she couldn't say they were even just by that factor. Rocking back and forth on her heels she crossed her arms, silently wishing that the battle arena had been made out in a way that would allow more difficulty in environment. She had never been one for the normal arena vibe or rather the normal in-game like appearance of anything, where there was customization she took full control of it. At least she would be able to fully see her Digimon and their fights easily though getting the choice to not stand in one place or small area would have been nice. digimon. gabumon x, psychemon, blackgabumon word count. 0610 words. He had hoped that the spread of the technique would be enough to land a hit, if not even a partial hit due to the flames exploding with quite the fiery burst upon impact. As he suspected, the Gabumon X did manage to dodge most of them. This only proved that this opponent was a challenge and was at about the level that Wrath had expected when he gauged her power while their claws clashed and his blue flames danced with her red flames. To his slight delight, the last hit was a partial success for while his opponent tried to dodge her tail was still caught in the blast radius of the technique and thus was singed by the cyan flames that flickered at her rear appendage. It was nothing to celebrate though, it was not serious damage that would hinder her body or her fighting at all, still it was a step closer to victory. If he could hit her then he could hurt her and ultimately win this. Even the smallest burns, cuts and bruises could be very overwhelming over time, especially if so many were applied to different parts of the body. As it stood, Wrath saw himself at a slight advantage even if it was not much. The Digimon thrived on fighting and competition, it made him quite cocky and arrogant but it made him determined and persistent as well. He stood his ground and gathered himself up as he awaited for Summer to make her move as she quickly recovered from the burn on her tail by putting it out like a small camp fire with a few pats on the ground. Wrath growled and barred his teeth and outstretched his claws, challenging her to make a move as he was ready for the next scuffle between the two of them. They seemed to have similar abilities so that made it all more crucial for him to show that he was better, he had to prove it to himself that he was stronger even with similar attacks. Summer's barrage of flames seemed to almost mock the one he fired at her, all the balls of flames were fired from her mouth just like Wrath had did, there were even three of them. It would seem that she would be trying to return the favor. While Wrath did not have any classified defensive moves, he knew well enough how to counter and protect himself through the use of his natural offensive abilities. Opening his mouth, his throat emitted a blue glow as once again he formed more flames from the core of his reptile body. "Pepper Flame!" Instead of firing out a condensed, circular blast through, he unleashed a torrent of flames from his mouth like a flamethrower. Slowly he turned his head back and forth as he lay down the wall of flames in front of him, targeting and countering each ball of fire as it came within range. The orange flames were engulfed and overwhelmed by the intense torrent spraying from his mouth as he created a wall of fire in front of him. Closing his mouth, smoke leaked from his nostrils as he cut off the flames. Opening his mouth with a sigh, more smoke leaked out as he had used quite a bit to counter each ball of flames. It was the law of equivalent exchange, he had to expend enough energy in order to overcome the energy put into the fire balls hurdling toward him. With the wall of flames and smoke between the two Digimon now, it provided a little bit of a cover which Wrath took full advantage of as he readied his next technique. Focusing his energy into both claws, his blue flames started to swirl around them as they flickered to life. Condensing the flames to the tip of his claws, he slashed downward at the ground as he transferred the flaming energy into it. The blue flames struck the ground and sank beneath it, glowing between the cracks with a brilliant cyan light. The flames then spread under the ground and moved toward where Summer was. "Pepper Volcano!" With a commanding roar and an upward slash of his claws, Wrath made the flames erupt from the ground, aiming to have it burst right around the area of where Summer was standing in an attempt to engulf her with a blue wall of fire.[/style]

In a way her move choice and the fact that she had fired the same amount as her opponent was her form of mockery, or rather her way of mixing a little fun into it. Either way her move wasn't just for the ridicule, it was a way to either land some damage, gather more information on her opponent, or possibly get an opening to attack. As she continued forward her body jerked to a halt, her hind legs tensing as her claws dug into the ground as her body shifted in place until she was still. Like she had guessed her three consecutive moves were being blocked though not in the way she had expected them to be. Watching the walls of flames produce and protect the dark skinned reptile Summer stood still, watching the technique and blue flames of her opponent engulf and destroy the balls of flames she had shot. That was a surprise, welcomed though annoying to the Gabumon X.
Bearing her teeth a little in a short growl her skin felt the warmth of the flames a little ways ahead of her, blocking her view of the Digimon she was fighting as well as leaving her blind to any sort of attack it may come back at her with. Letting the claws on her paws drag against the hard floor, a small scrapping sound producing from the friction; Summer had to think of something to do. She could try to go around the wall to get to her opponent, though she felt that would leave her open for damage too easily. The other option could be to wait, though that wasn't something she wanted to do given the wide range of things that the BlackAgumon could do to her. The last option she could think of was just going straight through.
Whatever time she had to think about her plan, reevaluate her moves, had shortened dramatically to seconds if that. Hearing the roar of another attack Summer quickly decided that running in either direction wouldn't due her any good given the minimal time frame; with that her body hunkered down into a tight ball, the deep blue coat she wore covering the majority of her weaker areas. Within moments her body was engulfed in the blue flames produced by the BlackAgumon, the heat of which radiating from the bottom up, covering her whole body and singeing the fur protecting her for the most part. Her skin could still feel the intense heat, her body stiffening and tensing up to try and keep her form perfect.
She paid attention to heat coming from below her, she figured once it started to cool down the move would be reaching it's end even if the flames were still around her. Keeping still the moment the heat reached a point where she assumed she'd be able to handle she uncurled herself, the flames that engulfed her burning her exposed skin and damaging her entire body. It was a price to pay but she could handle at least this much. Dashing out of torrent of blue flames using whatever strength she could muster up through the pain Summer readied herself as she made it to the flaming wall blocking her opponent. Jumping straight through the dulling blue wall of flames – the fur covering her body catching fire in small places as she emerged on the other side – she raised both her arms with claws engulfed in red flame, slashing them at the BlackAgumon now in her sights. digimon. gabumon x, psychemon, blackgabumon word count. 0589 words. summery. Summer (Gabumon X) used Shielding Withdrawal to protect herself from most of the damage from Pepper Volcano. Damage taken from that. Charged her claws for the attack Flame Hook before slashing at Wrath once she had him in her sights. notes. ----

While he could not really make out his opponent all that well through the wall of flames or smoke, his green eyes only being able to catch glimpses of a furry figure, he could still sort of sense and feel where his opponent was simply due to the fact that he had sent his flames through the ground which he controlled. Thus he could sort of sense that the opponent was getting caught in the flames as he let it erupt from the ground around their feet. He could feel the resistance of their body on the flames, however he could not tell the extent of the damage but simply that contact had been made. It was sort of like sixth sense, one that an individual may feel after they throw a ball or a rock and suddenly realize where the projectile is going to land or what it is going to hit or even miss. Gathering himself up after attack, he spread his claws at his side as he took a ready stance. His eyes gleamed brightly as he tried to look through the smoke. His gaze scanned left and right, trying to get a reading on where his opponent was. He growled, not really liking how he could not see but it was his own hot headed fault, besides it had given him the perfect chance to defend and attack. Still, this could give the opponent an equal opportunity to attack him as well. Wrath stood there as he waited for his enemy to come, almost welcoming the challenge. Ryan on the other hand just frowned as he observed, the foolish BlackAgumon was making himself an easy target by standing in the same spot. he had already given up his position by attacking, now was the time to move for evasive action. Wrath was too caught up in the heat of the battle to really think a few steps ahead, he was the kind of Digimon that took things head on as they came...and the enemy did come head on. Bursting through the flames was the Gabumon X. She looked rather burnt and singed, but using the cover of the flames and fire and making a small sacrifice for the sake of surprise, her strike would hit hard and true. Wrath's eyes widened with the sudden appearance of Summer bursting through the flames, he back stepped as he tried to compensate in order to try and counter or even dodge, but he was caught off guard. The claws engulfed in red flames slashed him, smacking his head to the side with force as he stumbled back and grunted with both shock and pain from the burning strike. Digging the claws of his feet into the ground, he halted himself and quickly bounced back as he turned and lunged at Summer the Gabumon X. Opening his mouth as wide as he possible could, he bared all of his sharp teeth as flames swirled around them and made fire fangs which he tried to sink down onto the shoulder of the arm that Summer had just used to claw at him with.[/style]

The constant flow of pain being delivered throughout her whole entire body was nearly agonizing enough for her to just stop all movements in order to stop the feeling. Of course she wouldn't do such a thing, nor consider it for longer then a few seconds at the tip of the scale when the pain hit her. She would go down a fighter if anything, not give up because her body was burned or the pain was relentless. Her sharp canine teeth glistened from the light of the constant flames surrounding the two Digimons battle field as she slashed her claws at the BlackAgumon. Her surprise attack had been just that, a surprise; the clawing move made perfect contact with her opponent, the sight of which spreading a small smirk on her lips and dulling the pain in adrenaline and pride.
Smoke billowed from the patches of her fur and skin that had been burned enough to not go out after the first second or so. It was those spots that were causing her the post pain; although the initial flames were gone her fur hadn't been taken care of before the fire had reached her actual skin and muscle, making the throbbing of the raw injuries feel worse then the fire itself. Her breathing had turned into panting rather the steady silent breaths like before. She had taken a lot of damage to get to this point, to have struck her opponent in surprise and get closer to him for more attacks – though this plan brought on the question of if it was worth it. To her it felt she had taken more damage then giving out to Wrath, making her plan more of hindrance towards her and giving her a disadvantage.
Her body skidded to a jagged halt when her move had hit and the BlackAgumon and his body skidded back. Her back hunched slightly as she slowly brought herself up in a straight position, readying herself the best she could and going off the adrenaline of her attack hitting to dull the pain. Despite her ability to still prepare herself and her mindset to keep fighting she knew dodging an attack using her speed and body movements alone would be near impossible if not a death trap. With how much damage she had taken from her risky plan she wouldn't be able to outrun something or swiftly move to the side to counter. Of course this was a problem, a problem that would ultimately lead to even more damage but she had already accepted that.
Her teeth still bared she merely growled deep in her throat at the black reptile as it bounced back from where it had skidded to, coming at her with jaws of flames ready to strike her if she didn't get out of the way. Moving wasn't a plan, she knew this but there were other ways. Keeping still Summer raised her right arm up before the BlackAgumon got close enough to bite any other part of her body, shoving her forearm into the Digimons mouth and bite grip. The pain from both the flames radiating around its teeth and the bite itself shot though her small form instantly, shaking her senses as she opened her mouth and aiming her view right at Wrath's head. She needed close range and this was it. Gripping her claws against the BlackAgumon's face for grip, or at least a mild hold on him if he tried to pull away, Summer's throat burned with the red flames her body produced before shooting two consecutive blows at the Digimon biting her. digimon. gabumon x, psychemon, blackgabumon word count. 0604 words. summery. While it seemed all too easy and like Summer was offering it to him, Wrath could care less. It seemed like a defensive reflex coming from his opponent due to not being able to dodge. She did seem to be moving a bit more sluggish with the wounds that she had accumulated, the BlackAgumon was quite proud of this fact. He himself had only sustained one blow from her and thus Wrath believed he had the full advantage. So without hesitation he latched onto Summer's arm, sinking his teeth into it and delivering the searing pain from the blue flames that engulfed his fangs. He was unaware that he had just taken the bait, for a hit was a hit and damage was damage to him...even if he opponent did seem to offer it up, he would take it. Ryan was a bit more skeptical as he observed, so was Pride as he stood by his trainers side and studied the battle. It was like Summer had just given right into that rather than trying to resist or even dodge, of course the hot headed BlackAgumon did not really think things threw in the midst of battle. It was just all action, he always lived in the moment rather than thinking things thoroughly through or even a few steps head. It was all action and reaction, reflex and instinct. As soon as the Gabumon X opened her mouth and reeled back with her head, Ryan realized exactly what Summer had planned. "Wrath, get out of there!" He shouted in a commanding tone which would surely get the reptile Digimon's attention. Sure enough, his green eyes snapped upward as he looked into Summer's gaping mouth and spotted the forming flames. Quickly he released her arm and jumped back in order to try and dodge and put some distance between them. Just as he had released and jumped back though, his opponent had fired off the two fire balls right toward his head. In reflex, Wrath reacted within a split second as he quickly snapped his jaws open and blue flames erupted from his mouth. Frantically he fired off two bursts of blue fire balls from his mouth, both of the condensed spheres of flames shout from his throat with a sounding boom as he used his pepper blast technique. The blue flames clashed with the red flames and on impact the force created quite the fiery explosion between the two Digimon whom were just feet away from each other. The force of the blast sent Wrath flying backwards as he hit the ground rolling before he caught himself and jumped back up on his feet, the momentum still carrying him as his claws dug into the ground in order to bring him to a full stop. He winced as he was singed from the flames and got scraped up pretty bad too. There was now a large wall of smoke between him and Summer thus he was unsure how the blast effected her or how she handled it. He himself was recovering as his ears rang and body quivered. Ryan frowned slightly, while Wrath was strong and a natural born fighter, he was just a hot head. His opponent was strong too and using her head at least somewhat more than the BlackAgumon. Wrath could only learn through battles and experienced though, right now he was too arrogant and ignorant. It was Pride the Kotemon whom was standing next to Ryan that muttered "fool". Envy was silent as she just observed with a big playful grin.[/style]
