cuddle. Day one of the beta was going by quickly. After arriving in Akihabara by plane, which disturbed Bunny for it was his first time on a plane and bunnies on planes typically don't mix well, he was introduced to the suite in which he was supposed to be living in. After receiving some of the first real information on the beta he had received yet, Bunny was transported into the digital world and acquainted himself with the three Digimon partners that he would be taking his journey with. While this was all interesting and definitely something new, the teen was much more concerned with the actual city in which he would be living. He needed to gauge the beauty of the citizens, find other beta testers to have his back (if this was anything like Compton, he'd be the weakest dude out there and would need people to back him up), and of course he'd need a little understanding of his surroundings.
The rumble of the train had at first lulled the Bunny to sleep, for the metallic noise about him and the people speaking quiet amongst themselves was covered by music playing through the buds in his ears. He sat there slouched with his back against the seat, his head hidden in his grey hood and his pockets as far down in his pockets as they could be. A familiar screech, much like the one or two before it, resounded. It was nearly muffled by the black headphones stuffed in his ears and not being entirely loud in itself, but apparently it was enough to wake the teen. Bunny didn't know where he was, but if this was anything like he expected he was now far enough away from the Crosswire Suites and the surrounding video game stores that didn't interest him. Slowly, his right eye opened with a series of blinks. He groaned low, opening his other eye and looked down at the phone that he procured from his left.
Four o'clock. He would need to catch up on some more sleep, since he hadn't slept on the flight at all and thus had been awake for a little too long. Nothing new. The doors slid open, and the other people on the train stood and made their way to the nearest exit. Bunny himself pushed himself up to sitting up straight, only to lean forward to start collecting himself. He reached up and pulled the hood forward some more to better cover his head. A woman's voice, speaking something unintelligible, was heard under the music he was still listening to. The Bunny tilted his head up and sure enough some lady was there, speaking something to him as if he was supposed to understand him.
"Huh..." He took out his earbuds, looking at the woman quizzically. "Uhm. Hello beautiful?" She didn't say anything and exited. The Bunny probably needed to do that too, on second thought. So he did that, stretching a bit on his way out and then looking over the crowd that prepared to enter the same train he just left. They all looked like genuinely friendly people. How beautiful they were, going about their daily business. He could only imagine how beautiful they were in moments of beauty, surrounded by beauty, committing acts of beauty. Bunny made his way through the crowd up onto the streets.
It looked like how he heard New York described; nothing like LA and surely nothing like Compton. It was loud. It wasn't the good kind of loud either, the kind that set an ambiance or was really alive. If the teen wasn't used to finding beauty in the roughs, he might have overlooked this place as just another soulless metropolis. It wasn't that, though. Aside from a little lack of diversity and how people walked like they weren't going to stop for anyone or talk to anyone aside from their bluetooth, this place actually had something... almost special.
Bunny realized that his yellow was unnecessary pretty quick. Bunny went about walking on the sidewalk, tugging on his kerchief and freeing it from its rightful place around his neck. Furthermore, the teen even decided that he didn't actually need the hood for the weather here was nice and no one else was wearing one. Interesting, no one here even looked somewhat hostile to him even if he was quite different. He continued walking for a while until a window displaying clothing caught his interest and drew him off his walking. As he stopped to gaze through the glass, someone bumped into him and he pardoned himself. It was then he learned that people here actually knew English. Beautiful.
It may have been a little unusual for 16 year old boys to walk into women's clothing stores, but the essence of beauty simply could not be ignored by the Bunny. Row after row of clothing, most of which would probably cost way too much for him to hope to buy with what money he had here. Of course, this was woman's clothing and he wouldn't need to worry about buying anything as he walked through the store. All he wanted to do was find the source of the beauty.

While the digital world was cool and all but sometimes a girl had to indulge in the guilty pleasure of shopping. Plus it did not hurt to stretch your legs every once in a while. That is what I would assume anyway. I have to limit my spending slightly though as I am using my own credit card and father dearest is cracking down on me for excessive spending for some reason. Whatever. He had to understand that I still need to shop for clothes and food. Sure Crosswire provided some at the suites but sometimes the food there is so lame. Regardless here I am in this nice little boutique looking at all the nice clothes. The weather was nice so I did not have to worry about the rain coming down suddenly or my hair getting frizzy. In fact this was a perfect day to get out of the digital world and experience a normal day. The longer I stayed in that game the more difficult it became to distinguish what was virtual and what was reality.
This skirt looked incredible by the way. It was made from a lovely satin that was silky to the touch. Plus the color went well with my complexion. I lifted the hanger from the rack and overlaid the cloth over my left forearm. I think I'll purchase it. No reason not to I suppose. I had a large amount of clothing that I wanted to purchase as it is. Plus with the sound of the door opening again, it sounded as if more people were coming in and heavens forbid I get stuck in a crowded clothing store. As I approached the register, I took a subtle glance outside and recalled how busy it was on the streets. I mean I could not say it bothered me. As I walked around I know I turned a few heads both here and back in Okinawa, but more so here if anything. It was rather satisfying.
One thing had caught my eye though. This teenaged boy wearing a styled hoodie was standing in the store and it was quite curious. Most boys would not bother to come into a women's clothing store unless they were dragged in by their mothers or their girlfriends. With mothers you could tell with the look of annoyance and dissatisfaction however this boy appeared to be here of his own volition. I can not think of a reason as to why other than accompanying a girlfriend but strangely that did not appear to be the case either unless this girlfriend dove into the aisles rather quickly. Perhaps I should attempt to talk to him. Maybe I could get an idea of where I could explore next in this big city.
I handed the cashier my card to pay for my clothing and swiftly took hold of the bags with my left hand and my card in my right. With a one hundred eighty degree turn I locked onto my target and made an effort to be friendly. Casually walking up behind him, being careful to take note of silencing my footsteps. In one motion I draped my arms over the guy's shoulders and pressed myself against his back, the cotton of the hoodie brushing over my skin. There was surprisingly a large amount of warmth, but considering he was wearing it should not have been so shocking. I leaned into his ear and while I was sure he was either going to brush me off or welcome the surprise embrace openly, both of which did not matter to me, I whispered slowly with candy laced words. "Did not expect to see a cute guy like you to be here. Here with a girlfriend?"

cuddle. So far, sadly, Bunny had yet to catch onto a whiff of beauty nor did his beauty radar start to go off. He remembered distinctly the places in which he used to roam and spend his free time, and perhaps the reason he could detect beauty in those places was because he had spent so much time there. This store, however, was an entirely new thing both as a specific location and as a type of experience. Bunny just kept walking, looking over at the aisles lined with clothing and eventually at the cashier which, at that moment, had been unoccupied save the chick working the register. He kept onward, still scanning the area for that source of beauty that might occupy a bit of his time. Luckily for him and his defective beauty scanners, he wouldn't actually need to search much at all. In fact, the suspect would bring herself to him before he could locate and pursue her. Chapter one worked out like that, which is why you give it a name like cuddle.
Suddenly Bunny was caught off guard by a pair of arms reaching over his shoulders and a warm embrace against his back. At first all he did was make sure not to stagger or stumble forward, and instead only rocked forward a little and then held still with the arms still around his neck. The first thing he could take notice on were the bags in one of her hands, which Bunny could only assume meant she had just bought what it was she wanted here. He tilted his head down, his eyes closing and a smile appearing slowly as she spoke to him so sweetly. That was usually his thing, but Bunny had encountered this type of chick before. Judging by her being forward and speaking in the way she was, she was actually trying to flirt with him before anything else. What she could gain though, he didn't actually know.
But the Bunny was more concerned about having the pleasure of speaking and meeting whomever this was as she was clearly a bearer of beauty. Bunny chuckled at her statement, reopening his eyes and turning his head a little to see her face. She'd probably be considered pale, but if anything that only contributed to her overall beauty creating a light - almost angelic appearance. 'course she wasn't angelic. Seeing how beautiful and attractive she was just from the glance only confirmed pretty much exactly the kind of chick she was. " 'ey babe," he said almost instinctively, "Nah, I'm here alone... well, not anymore, I hope." He had to see how good she was at playing the game. If she was, by some chance, good at this, he'd only see how long they'd be able to go at this and where it'd go; which probably wasn't anywhere she might want. She had already bought her clothes or so it seemed, so the chance he'd have to buy something here was low and thus this was low risk.
Bunny's hand brushed against the top of hers, stroking it lightly to feel the smoothness of her skin before slipping his fingers between hers and attempting to find the thing by which she held her bags. "I'll take your bags, m'kay, beautiful?" Bunny slipped from her arms, her bags in his hand and holding them down at his side. Turning around to look over her a single time, the Bunny spoke again, "And you'll show me 'round this beautiful place in return, 'cause I'm kinda new here and stuff. I'm a Crosswire beta tester." She looked sort of like she might live here, although she did have a sort of strange and entirely entrancing appearance unlike most of the people he had seen. Still, it was worth a try.
"Sounds fun, yeah?" For now, though, he figured he should at least see if she'd waste his time on him.

The man's words were akin to a sly fox easing his way though his words. Hearing what he said though made me hold in a laugh and caused me to bite my tongue to restrain myself. Oh? So we are to play this game? Perhaps this will be fun. He made an effort to glance towards my direction to which I merely offered a smile for him to observe. In a slipping hand motion the boy managed to brush against the back of my hand, the warmth tickling my skin as he held my hand tenderly. I noticed that this was done with the hand that held my bags which was curious considering if her was attempting to rob me blind he should have went for my credit card but whatever.
He swiftly claimed his intentions of taking my bags as he escaped my grasp. Not a simple effort to be sure and commendable nonetheless. As he stole his warmth back and my bags of purchased clothing, I stood back up casually. Most of my weight was focused on my right foot as my left hand wandered to arch at my hip. My irises examined him for a moment as he appeared to attempt to do the same. My right hand brushed a few free strands of silver that tickled my face just as the boy admitted what he wished for exchanged. The first thing I began to notice was his excessive use of the word beautiful, considering he said it twice within the first few seconds of contact. Perhaps I should be worried? As I processed his words in my mind, I felt my eyes briefly widen but they softened quickly as I realized that I was not acquainted with any other beta tester from Crosswire.
I mean of course I lived with them and on occasion I would wave hello or something of the like. However when it came to being in the suites, life was either to enter the game where I would not have much interaction with any other beta tester or resting within my own bed. This was a rare opportunity to get to know another beta tester and outside the game at that. Plus he was a rather cute kid. "Oh really?" This meant that I could not approached this as I did initially as I would most likely see much more of this man in the suites but no matter. I'm not against making friends. "No girlfriend huh?" I could not say that was a shame but it still left the question of why he was in here in the first place. Guess I should not concern myself with tiny details such as those. "Anyway, I would not be the best candidate to show you around. You see I'm a beta tester for Crosswire too." Huh. Perhaps that would have been cooler or more efficient if I had shown some proof but it was not like I had anything like that on me. Whatever. I took a step forward and bent down slightly as to approach dangerously close to his face. His eyes looked rather interesting but I do not believe they were cause for alarm. It was almost alluringly cute actually.
"The best I could possibly do is take you to the suites if you have not been there already." I felt a smile tug at the edge of my lips. My voice gradually minimized to almost a seductive whisper. This was not intentional but it would not and did not hurt anyone. "I have personally only stayed a few days so even a tour of the suites would be a stretch but I could show you my room if you want." I mean, he did have my bags and they did need to be taken to my room and all.

cuddle. Bunny, watching her as vigilantly as he was in his endeavor to study and completely absorb the intensity of her beauty, noticed the moment when her eyes widened. She was surprised, perhaps, that he had been a beta tester. Perhaps she would need to cast him to the dogs or pull her gat out on him 'cause he was a beta tester, he didn't really know. Maybe there was a general contention against the citizens of Akihabara and the tourists visiting here due to the Crosswire beta. Of course, this hardly looked like a girl that'd be toting any sort of heat, and she was cute and flirty so it'd be alright. She seemed surprised, both at the statement regarding the beta and the fact that he had no girlfriend. Well hey, he would take it as a compliment seeing as how apparently it was sorta hard to believe he didn't have a girl. The Bunny didn't actually date back in Compton, he thought it'd ruin his neutrality if he had to stand up for some chick he wasn't really into. Or maybe that was just some excuse.
She admitted to being a beta tester as well. That might have been an inconvenience on the grounds of getting a tour around the city, but that hardly mattered. Such beauty ought to be experienced on all mediums, and the digital world was just one more. Bunny made a bit of a late effort to mask the surprise on his face, disguising it into a bit of a laugh of disbelief of sorts. Bunny didn't really knew girl gamers were a thing that existed, but he wasn't really into that sorta thing anyway and Crosswire wasn't exactly a game. Well, the people at Crosswire seemed to think it was more than a game anyway. The lady took a step forward and bent down to look into Bunny's face, where she hovered a while. Made him feel a little short.
Then she mentioned her room. Bunny looked into her eyes, looking for the joke or the chuckle. Just looked seductive. Amazing. Bunny decided not to break away from staring back at her for the time being, allowing the moment to linger on for a few seconds before looking down and grinning a bit. "Slow down girl, I don't even know your name yet," he said jokingly. "I'll tell ya what, doe." He took a half step backwards and then tilted his head back up to meet her eyes.
Bunny offered his free hand out to her. "I'll hold your hand," he continued in the same joking manner. It wasn't that she was suggesting anything by offering to take him to her room, its just that she really sort of was suggesting something by offering to take him to her room. "And we'll see a bit of the city together, a'ight?" Bunny really wanted to see more of this city, he wasn't about to lie. Maybe it was a little selfish, given he could accompany this gal elsewhere but it was cool. He was beautiful, thus allowed to be selfish from time to time.
"After we're done, I could come back to suite with ya, if ya really want. But first, the name's Bunny."

AVALYN
Unlike most men this one kept eye contact with me for a prolonged period until breaking it suddenly. My eyes followed his movements slowly as he removed his attention from me as I resumed neutral standing position. Amusing. Was he disinterested? It was not often that men would be disinterested in me when I showed them consideration. As of now the facts that stood out most prominently is that fact that this one is most definitely not a timid type of individual. Perhaps he is too young? Or perhaps he was simply not interested in a person such as I. Regardless a grin shown on his lips and played off the act. Even had the gall to play hard ball. This amused me. In addition, I took note of the strange accent he held as well. It made it quite the bit clearer that he is a foreigner, not only of Akihabara but perhaps of Japan as well. The boy took a step backwards and met my eyes once more, to what end I was not aware.
He offered a hand to me and stated that he will hold my hand, almost as if he held command and the rights to do such. Perhaps this was a foreign thing. No matter. I glanced down to his hand then back to his features as he began to speak an explanation. He stated that he would company me back to the suites which were the ideal end point. There were no negatives to this. The day was rather pleasant so casual travel and exploring is ideal. Continuing around the city meant additional locations to shop and as a fellow beta tester it was ideal to associate with as many of them considering we are living together. I suppose we shall let the games begin. "Oh? Is that a promise?" A sly smile crept onto my lips as I sidestepped and latched onto the man's free arm pressed carefully to my chest.
"If so then I have no qualms with traveling with you as long as you keep me entertained." A chuckle escaped my throat and wasted little time leaving the store and dragging the male with me. At this point lingering there any longer would be inappropriate. The name he stated was a strange one as well and one I attempted to commit to memory. Bunny. Usagi? I suppose that is to be a nickname? I have never encountered anyone with the name bunny except females holding the name Usagi. I suppose it is nothing of pressing concern. If he was going to give me a nickname I guess I shall grant the same courtesy. "I'm Ava. Where ya from?" As the male I fully expected that he lead the way. It was not as if I knew where he wished to go.

cuddle. This woman, whether intentional or not, was actually relatively entertaining and funny. She knew how to play better than anyone ought to have, and it was almost bad if he really thought about how she might have got so good at this. Of course he didn't, she was beautiful and was thus excused or rather immune to the possibility of being one of those. For whatever reason, the woman wanted a promise. Aside from the idea of "promises" being adorable, he guessed that she really just wanted his word. Usually he didn't really hold people's word in high respect and didn't trust it all too much, but this place was supposedly different. Promises might have been a legit thing here. "Y'have my word, beautiful." It almost hurt to say that without making a joke out of it, for that cutesy promise thing wasn't really a real thing. Bunny's word was trustworthy enough, though. She held onto his arm, holding it against her chest. He smiled at her. Mmm.. she was cute. He probably mentally noted on that a little too much.
She directed them out of the store. Guess she didn't want anything more there knowing that Bunny was gonna have to pay, which was alright. Now, after all, he'd probably have the responsibility to guide her and take her around. The opposite of what he wanted to do, but whatever. She wanted to be remain entertained, that was really her only condition. Well, stated condition. There was probably a million other mannerisms he'd have to adjust to, as well as common courtesy. She was beautiful, though, so it was worth it more than likely. Bunny began walking, glancing around without any true direction and instead just searching for something that caught his interest that he might want to drag her into. He had only gone a few steps with her before he decided to speak, obviously still amused by the promise thing, "No worries, doll. An' if I bore you, you can always cash in that promise early."
Ava. Beautiful name. It might have been short for something, like Sha'Avalon or something, but regardless it suited her. Ava was a kinda angelic name, but not like one of them cliche ones, so it really fit her almost pale skin which also made her look angelic. Had to mention the pale thing again. It was a really good name. More than likely, he was just making up how good of a name it was based on the fact she was the only Ava he knew now and she was beautiful. "Ava..." he spoke, tilting his head a little bit as if contemplating and attempting to commit the name to memory. "Pretty name." He put his attention back into scanning over the neon signs and other such signs in English and Japanese that might interest him. Bunny looked at her for a moment, latched onto his arm still, and then looked forward and walked forward slowly -- delaying the time they'd be doing something other than just talking and enjoying one another's company. Whatever, though, he'd have to find something sooner or later.
"Cali. How about you - where you from? Y'don't find girls as beautiful as you back in Compton." Bunny stopped walking again. He looked over to a building where, through the windows, he saw a series of tables empty and occupied - mostly empty. "You hungry?"

AVALYN Is it me or does this guy appear rather complacent? Regardless I suppose it is none of my concern. He assured me that he would uphold his word and threw a smile in my direction. I would do the same. For now he appeared to be enjoying himself. He did not even complain or debate on my single condition, not that it was a difficult condition to fulfill. Instead we began walking. I kept onto his arm if only for the fact that in a large city like this it was relatively simple to become lost. In addition I was sure that we turned a few heads but it was not as if I would ever see or need to knows these people ever again if they were to judge me. I am not going to lie. The boy was rather cute plus he was complimenting me like mad. It was rather nice.
The streets were hustling and bustling. The colored signs that lined each street were probably more so for the evening use to attract attention though it amused me how many were in use currently. Even in Okinawa which was known as a tourist attraction had been more spacious than these streets. Most likely due to the beach scene rather that the city scene. The boy however did not appear interested in many of the locations that we passed. I will not lie and state I was disinterested in everything as well, a few high end clothing shops in particular at that, however that was the consequence of forcing the male to lead instead. I will live. He would periodically slow his pace however which was rather peculiar as well.
He stated his place of origin is a place called Cali. Did this mean California? I recall that the particular state was known as Cali by some. If that was the case then this boy is indeed a foreigner as I though, but also an American foreigner. So Crosswire's beta test stretched its influence even to the Americas? I felt a smirk creep onto the corners of my lips. Good show. As for the Compton statement, I did not know to what he was referring but I suppose if I had to guess this was the district he lived in. It was nothing of significance. "My thanks. Believe it or not I am from Okinawa, a coastal zone in Japan just like Cali correct?"
Oh, we stopped. My gaze lowered to the ground then swept upwards to check what it was we stopped for. What beheld me was a restaurant of sorts and for the most part emptied. This meant that either this place was an unknown treasure or something within left something to be desired. Whether it be the food or the service I hesitated to accept. I was unused to haphazard dining though I suppose on the rare chance that this was indeed good that I will take the chance. It caught Bunny's attention after all that we had passed previously. I required a regular place to visit after shopping to dine anyway. If not then I could easily call father and have the location taken out of commission so I would never have to encounter the place ever again. Thus with a shrug I tugged upon his arm to lead him towards the doorway. "Sure but you're treating." Common courtesy of course.

cuddle. After a moment or two, the woman hanging onto him by his arm was also smirking and enjoying herself. Bunny thought this must have been a result of beauty resonance of sorts, for those things were very real and were actually dangerous. If he didn't control his beauty output a nuclear meltdown might occur, so this was sort of a serious thing. Ava explained that she was from an area called Okinawa, which sounded almost familiar to him. He would have guessed that it was some city in China, but she explained that it was actually somewhere here in Japan. The beta was really getting around, huh? It was actually quite a global effort, but maybe that was to get different perspectives and ideas brought into the beta. Even he, almost poor and struggling to get through day to day with his father, had been invited. He wondered how she had gotten here, and what circumstances she lived back in Okinawa. Listening to her, Bunny just peered through the glass and looked over the few people that ate. They looked rich and foreign. Two things he wasn't exactly sure how to blend in with, two things the streets didn't help him with.
Ava requested that he pay. Yeah, he figured that would be a thing over here in Japan too. Cause he was supposed to have money or something. He had brought his savings and what his father could afford to him here, and Crosswire gave him a little bit of an allowance for him to live off of, but he still wasn't in the best situation to spend much money. This game better be fun, because if he ran out of money too quick the fun he thought he might be able to have here would be a little limited. "'Course," Bunny's gaze slipped over to Ava whom shrugged and then guided him forward towards the door. He focused on what was in front of him when he perceived that he would probably have to open the door and lead her in as was also more than likely expected. After pushing open the door, he elected not to hold it open and let her walk through and instead tug her along inside. Bunny enjoyed her warmth for what it was worth.
A lady looked at Bunny expectantly when he got inside. "Table for two," he had seen enough movies to know that this was probably what he was supposed to say. She understood his English. Perhaps more people knew the language than he, pretty much ignorant of anything farther than Nevada to the east, expected them to have. She suggested that they should follow her. After a couple steps, she made a subtle gesture to a small table near the wall with two old-looking chairs set at the table. They were probably antiques, but Bunny wasn't into appreciating that sort of thing. Bunny finally freed himself from her, hesitantly of course. "Here we are," he spoke. Bunny found her soft hands once more, holding it delicately to help her into her seat. Dunno, it seemed like something rich people'd do.
"So, Ava," He spoke the name with such relish, clearly still amused by it every time he spoke it. "You asked me but I didn't think anythin' of it. I dun have anyone, but d'you have someone waitin' for ya?" Perhaps he should wait for that lady to return to ask them for their drinks or whatever it was she might do, but instead he intended to just look intently at Ava and learn every last detail of her face... she was cute. "Didn't come to to Akihabara all alone, didja?" He chuckled, sort of ruining the little bit of concern he managed to sprinkle into his last statement. "How'd you get here, anyway?" Bunny didn't mean to ask so many questions, but when he really thought about it they were just chilling and hadn't really talked too much about each other. Besides, he liked her voice quite a bit, so he sort of wanted to provoke her into speaking a bit more.

AVALYN He had agreed without much argument. Amusing. Most men would have hesitated over the fact of treating a girl to food the first time they met. However perhaps it was due to Crosswire granting us beta testers money occasionally. Not that it was enough for things I wanted to do but it was something. Enough to pay for food I'm sure. Thus as we approached the door the boy who dubbed himself Bunny opened the door but pulled him along with him inside instead of holding the door like most gentlemen would. Perhaps it was just me being used to the actions of my butlers in the mansion. No matter. I did not mind. He was cute and had a penchant for compliments. In fact it is surprising he accepted my advances rather than shy away like most innocent school boys.
The boy requested a table for two and we were swiftly directed towards a table by a wall. They looked rather old and finely crafted. An unexpected twist. Perhaps this location had indeed been a gem. Early to say I suppose but I will give this establishment a point for elegance. I loosened my grip around the boy's arm and he appeared hesitant to allow himself to release me as he lingered upon my touch however he had managed to do so. He took my hand instead, the warmth of his fingers slipping over my palm alerting me to such, and guided me into my seat which was relatively strange. Almost felt like a date. We shall see how this plays out.
The waitress departed and left the two of us alone, the menus were also already visibly on the table to my amusement. As I opened the first page of the catalog the boy spoke again, managing to get most of my attention with the way he stated my name. Strange. It sounded almost as if he enjoyed it, of what I could not say. Perhaps the situation at hand was simply getting the better of him? My eyes fell upon his eyes as he began to string about a line of questions. Some of which were strange and others of which I should come to expect from a foreigner. No matter.
The first question I laughed at softly though stifled it with my right hand. Honestly after the stunts I pulled did he believe that I had a boyfriend or anything of the sort? "If I did I would not be out here alone that is for sure." Maybe I was getting his hopes up or maybe I was not. Bottom line is that I was not going to lie about this of all things. Sort of pointless. As my laughter subsided I returned my attention to the menu and listened to the rest of the questions that the boy needed answered. It was a strange question but it could not be helped.
"Of course I did silly. Was I not supposed to?" I mean, who else was going to come with me? My butler? I doubt that they'd even let him into the suites if I had brought him along. Plus butlers could be annoying at times. No freedom. The pasta looks interesting. Not much into the soup or seafood scene as of this moment. The choices. I suppose I should start with the appetizers first though. The boy asked how I arrived and it was rather strange. He is a beta tester after all, he should be well aware. Not that I took the flight that Crosswire provided for the other beta testers to arrive at Akihabara but who honestly needed to know that? It was but a minor detail.
"Huh? That is a strange question. I took a plane. Did you not take a plane as well?" I questioned with mild curiosity in my tone. If not the only other option was taking a boat and then another mode of transport however the plane appeared to be more efficient both time and cost wise. Perhaps foreigners have a strange way of doing things? Nevertheless it was an amusing theory to be sure. Oh maybe this? "What do you think of beef wellington?"

cuddle. Recognizing the current situation of being in a restaurant and needing to assess what it was he was getting and deciphering the unintelligible foods of the upper echelon from... yeah, whatever it was he might have a chance of guessing the contents. Whatever, though, it wasn't really as bad as he thought. Bunny looked down at the menu, overcoming the difficulty of actually shifting his gaze from Ava onto something of lesser beauty. She seemed very relaxed in this setting, and as they were indeed almost competing in the way that people playing this sorta game did, he would have to mirror the relaxation as if he was accustomed to this setting. No big deal, just wing it. With beauty as his guide he'd do just that, no problem. Bunny had ran his finger down the small little menu, his thumb playing with the laminated corner. Y'know, it might have been useful if he had chose a place that he was relatively familiar with. However, this place didn't have a distinguishable theme or specialty that might influence his choice. Bunny eventually abandoned the effort, his eyes trailing up to her face as she giggled to herself. Hm? He didn't do anything funny, not on purpose anyway. Maybe it was his line of questioning.
Yeah, it was. She didn't have a boyfriend, but he sort of figured that. It more or less just to set up the opportunity to say something or another about how it didn't seem realistic that she didn't have a boyfriend. He honestly expected a different answer, a more... open to interpretation one. Ava was straightforward enough, though. He probably could have figured that out when she approached him and draped her arms over his shoulders before anything else. Whatever. Ava claimed to have came alone, and her answer was worded in such a way that he could actually use it for something. "I was under the impression beautiful ladies such as yerself weren't allowed to be alone. Guess it doesn't matter anymore," in reference, of course, to himself existing now. He didn't figure this would amount to much of anything, but if there was anything that mattered more than those little lines that promised himself to her or made it seem as if they had to be together forever than he didn't know it.
Bunny smirked. Her response sounded pretty naive, which may have been intentional and just an effort to be cute, but he doubted it. People usually weren't good at feigning that sort of thing. "Heh, not what I meant, silly," she called him 'silly' first, and while it wasn't in his top-list for pet names it fit the situation well enough, "I mean... why did Crosswire choose you as a beta tester? Y'know, how'd ya get noticed?" Bunny was actually curious as to how people were getting here from all walks of life, especially how Ava in particular ended up here. He chuckled a little. "But yeah. I took a plane too."
He looked down at the menu once more. He wasn't sure what exactly he was looking for, but surely something would catch his eye. Bunny slouched a little, in fact he was almost slouching forward and holding his head close to the menu as he reviewed it. As soon as the woman sitting across from him spoke up, his hurriedly tilted his head to look up to her - not doing well to conceal his eagerness. Beef Wellington? What... what was that? He tried not to look disarmed by the statement. "Huh...?" Seriously though. Did anyone know what that was. Could he please phone a friend or something, even though more than likely they didn't know what a beef wellington was. Sounded almost like a name of sorts, but given by the context she was probably referring to a food. "Um."
A lifeline appeared in a different way. A server came up to the table, and Bunny straightened his back and looked away from Ava, being saved from the question by the server. She set down a glass of water for each of them. The lady then inquired as to what Bunny wanted. Bunny didn't really have much time to think, so said the thing that sounded the most tactful at the time, "The beef wellington, please, dear," he spoke with his usual suavity and smile. He looked to Ava.

AVALYN After my statement the boy made it a point to counter my statement with a hint of what seemed to be humor. I could not tell if what he said was a compliment or sarcastic humor however. For one reason or another I was leaning towards complimenting me yet in addition to that the male taking the role as my date. Perhaps I was giving him too strong of an impression and he was taking it seriously? Perhaps a tad too far but I suppose I did not mind. He is treating me to a free lunch after all. "Is that so? Guess I should thank you for keeping me company then." I smiled teasingly as my eyes moved back towards the menu.
This place had a surprising amount of options. As I had moved away from the chicken related options the male had deflected my previous statement back at me. Silly, he said. I suppose I will let that slide. I was the one that called him that in the first place so it is only fair. Nevertheless he persisted to question me and clarified his previous question if he expected another answer. He questioned how I was recruited into being a beta tester and I focused my eyes on the words on the menu to think and delay answering. I would prefer that I not lie but I did not wish for anyone to know that I was some rich girl that did not know how real life worked. Come on Avalyn, think. In an effort to relax I released a breath and glanced up to look at him as I spoke. "It is not an interesting story. My father knows some people and through those connections I managed to become a beta tester."
I was not lying. It is due to my father that I am now a beta tester and through his connections getting the money needed to support and fund my selection as a beta tester. Either way the story was rather boring but this way did not give away the fact that my family is rich. I mean I came here to get away from that. Not that it mattered now I suppose. I took the moment to glance up at the male and strangely he appeared to be carefully scrutinizing the menu. A strange sight however the second I pointed out and ask his opinion of the beef Wellington, he appeared rather flustered. He stuttered and made noises as if he was unsure of what I was asking or even what a beef wellington was. Did he not know? I figured if he had selected this type of restaurant he would know what he was getting into. As I was to ask the problem the waitress returned with two cups of water and a pad to write down our orders. I withheld my question due to this because again due to common courtesy.
I relaxed my shouldered and leaned my back into the back seat of the chair, feeling the carvings and indents within the wooden back. The male had swiftly stated that he would order Beef Wellington which of course was rather amusing. I kept my features motionless as I watched the woman write down the order then turn to me for my own. I exhaled and decided it was best to play it safe for now. No reason to order the same thing. That would be boring and I rather liked variety when trying a restaurant for the first time. "Mushroom Tortellini and a glass of lemonade if you would?" The woman nodded to me to which I took as an okay. I traced the far side of the menu with my right index finger as I closed it and handed it back to the woman as a sign I was done ordering and turned my sights back on the cutie.
"Beef Wellington huh? Guess one of us should try it. Let me know how it is." I used the same index finger to trace the condensation of water that began to build up on my glass, the chill of it trickling on my fingertip. It was something I usually did when waiting at restaurants. "What about you? What is your story?"

cuddle. Bunny figured he had played everything off alright, but at any rate it didn't actually matter. More than likely, what he did not wasn't going to be of much substance to what she thought of him. If he had done what he needed to do correctly, it would be blatantly clear that his intent was little more than to compliment and enjoy his time with her. This was no article of deceit or anything, he truly did want just that. Now he would just have to duck and weave through their conversation, and hopefully receive her as some sort of friend or any other branch of companion by the end of it. One person wasn't much, but it was a start to reestablishing his network of connections that might protect him or vouch for him when the time was right. It just so happened that his first encounter was a chick that smiled teasingly and did other such seductive things that only put him off a little. She might not have been Miss Bunny, but that did mean she'd go along with the whole date thing for however long it might last.
Ava claimed that her father had connections, and said connections allowed her father to talk her into the beta. She had used the term "knows some people", which Bunny could have been amused by if he had not already decided that Ava looked far too clean a woman to be involved in shady business. Besides, shady business didn't actually happen here in Japan, did it? Hm... was there? Bunny doubted it, but it didn't hurt to have a little curiosity. Perhaps he might come off as prying, but he rationalized that most women liked it when he took deeper interest in them. Of course, their father's business might not have been included among these things. "What connections get you into this sorta thing?" He chuckled. The question sounded pretty rhetorical which he realized, but if she chose to answer then by all means he would listen to her response. Bunny leaned back in his chair, realizing that he had been slouching and almost hunching over the menu. Whatever, he folded the menu idly and held it out to the lady that had taken their order. After Ava ordered something, that wasn't Beef Wellington (she said something else that he also didn't understand, so he didn't really take note) she made a comment in surprise that he had chosen it.
Mmm. He didn't know about her. Bunny didn't get upset or show disbelief in her decision, and instead reached out to grab his glass as he looked up to listen to her. Bunny, by some miraculous coincidence that can be blamed on nothing at all other than pure, pure chance, had looked down from her face enough to see her trail her finger along the side of her glass. She liked the condensation, the cold glass, something? She had asked about his story. Bunny didn't actually know what to say, which was strange because question deflections were a sole part of conversation, especially in scenarios like this. He brought the water glass to his lips, stopping for a minute to think before taking a small sip of the ice water. Replacing the glass on the top of the table, he seemed to have settled on an answer. "I won a beauty pageant. An' I know people. Connections. 's only a lil' more interesting than yours."
Bunny tapped his fingers against the table, one time for every finger. Apparently this did enough to jog his mind to think of what to ask Ava next. After focusing on his hand on the table for a moment, he looked up to Ava with a small little smile on his face. "Are you enjoying the city? Oh, have you gone in the game yet?" Bunny almost forgot to ask about that second part. He had been in the game for a couple minutes, but only to get acquainted with the process of entering and exiting the Digital World and choosing his Digimon team. Maybe she had been here long enough to give him a bit of information on what was going on.

AVALYN I waited for the waitress to leave before I decided to answer any more questions, most likely due to courtesy. I should not be surprised that he questioned the connections that I mentioned. Frankly I was unaware of most if not all of my father's business connections thus I would not be lying if I stated I did not know. It was rather common for my parents to keep me rather distant from any business related deals. It should be none of his concern regardless. "Not sure. As I said my dad knows people." I flicked my index finger on my thumb so I would lightly hit the glass, the brightened sound reverberating off of it clearly. Droplets scattered off my finger as well onto the table however they were minuscule and would evaporate quickly.
I looked back up to notice that Bunny had adjusted himself to relax and lean back against the chair instead of hunching over like an old man. He even lifted the glass of water to take a sip of the contents. I watched as he placed the rim of the glass to his lips and smiled teasingly as the water met with his lips. I could not bring myself to drink the glass of water before me however. One of the maids had always told me I must drink only fresh spring water or mineral water as a child so I suppose I have not gotten out of that habit. Never said anything about teas or lemonade so I never stopped ordering such things because of that.
As the boy finished his drink and placed the cup back upon the table as he answered my question, I could not help but raise a questioning brow at the answer I received. It was nothing bad I suppose yet I highly doubted it was true. As a female I was acquainted with the ideal that pageants were for females. Not that I would ever attempt to enter a pageant of any sorts. It was not my thing. However the concept of a male to participate much less win one was strange. Or perhaps America truly is a strange place.
"Beauty Pageant? That sounds like a rather unorthodox method." My finger went back to the cup, now tracing the rim with my mildly moist index finger. In addition to this contest the word connections was used. Perhaps the pageant story was a cover up? If so it was not a good one but nevertheless I suppose it was of no concern. A smile marked my lips again as I played along with this winning a pageant theory. "Congratulations."
I suppose we both grew bored of the wait for food as the boy began tapping his fingers on the table top. I honestly believed that we would have more to converse on. Just as I was going to release a breath Bunny had perked up and asked me another question, this time about the city and the game. The city was a new experience however it was not much different or exciting as Okinawa. I suppose this is due to the popularity for both as tourist attractions for different reasons. Still it is times like today where wandering the city instead of going into a virtual reality was more appealing. "The city is amusing at times. Good way to pass the time when I'm not in the game." As he questioned if I had gone into the game, it had almost slipped my mind that Bunny was new and most likely had not entered the game or explored yet. I personally had been able to explore and become well acquainted with my Digimon after all. "I have gone into the game. A few times now that I think of it. It's fun and rather realistic."

cuddle. Really though? You need to flick the glass full of water? Maybe he couldn't appreciate music like that, but the sound wasn't even really amusing. Man, that's how you make heads turn -- other than being beautiful, that is. Bunny dismissed it, caring much more about what she had to say than what her mannerisms were when she was waiting or bored. She actually did give him an answer to the question he tried to make subtle (because subtly was totally Bunny's thing), but it wasn't actually the most satisfying answer she could have given. Perhaps she really was ignorant of whom her father knew. Maybe her father was a drug dealer over in Okinawa, maybe he was rich, or, most likely, he was some cold-blooded killer wielding a zanpaktou and slaying little kids with bats left and right. That's how you got into the Crosswire beta, after all. That and beauty pageants. Beautiful little balance. Looking at the bright side, this did mean that her father was now uninteresting and she was once again the center of the bunnyverse. Bunny sighed lightly, however, upon learning that she didn't actually know anything or at least was not going to tell him anything.
Ava commented on the beauty pageant thing, which he could have expected. He also could have expected she'd run her finger along the side of her glass. To misconstrue her a little bit more, Bunny decided that she totally had a thing for that glass of water. Maybe that's why she didn't drink it. He could have saw that as almost condescending, because she did use a big word, "unorthodox", which usually meant people were trying to condescend him. He didn't usually deal with big words, 'cause he didn't deal with big people. Her congratulations, though, sounded almost like she was just playing along with it. Guess it wasn't that good of a story. "Thanks. I'm proud of myself, got my ribbon an' all." She didn't give him much of an elaborate answer at all in regards to the city and the game. Whatever. Bunny looked over to the back of the restaurant, admittedly a little impatient. Looking back to Ava, he watched her as she finished speaking.
"Yeah, I heard that a lot on the ride here. Can't say the idea of realism sounds appealin' to me, but I guess an escape is an escape. The city does seem pretty beautiful, too, 'course you're about all of I've seen of it. Can live with that." Bunny reached out for his glass of water, grasping it with two fingers and his thumb before loosening his grip and put his hand back down at his side. His eyes drifted up to the left as he rummaged through his thoughts, trying to put together what he wished to say next. After a brief chuckle, he tilted his head down. A smile lingered on his visage. "I'm a lil' nervous 'bout the game, to be honest. 'Course, you'll help me wit' it all, won't you? I mean, when you decide to go back into it." Bunny grasped the glass again, this time bringing it up for another sip and then sitting down after he had done so. He couldn't wait to start fighting people in the digital world. That'd be fun. But the true reason he had brought it up and attempted to rope her into helping him was that at this rate he suspected she'd have no intent of doing anything after today's so-called "date". That was no fun. She was best friend material, and as such he'd need to keep her around as his beautiful compass. As good her as anyone else to grow attached to.
