| The wind was little more than a forgotten breeze, picking up the sand that stretched out across the desert and throwing it back down haphazardly like a tempered child. The rumors of the ruins that extended out from the sandy depths had intrigued Theo enough for him to take the journey. He didn't know if anyone else had actually bothered to venture across this boiling deadland already, but, it didn't really matter. It wasn't a race to see who could reach where first after all.
"Are we there yet?" Oswald whined, as he fluttered past Theo.
"Nope."
"Are we there now?"
"Not yet."
Vincent trudged behind them with, surprisingly, Atreyu by his side. "Maybe we'll find treasure in there?" the red penguin uttered, tilting his head to look at the Lopmon. Atreyu shook his head. "I doubt it." "How can you be so sure?" "There is just this particular feeling that I'm getting. One where there is more of a chance of an attack from a feral Digimon than a chance of stumbling across an amassed hoard."
As the jumble of spoken words continued on, the ruins slowly loomed up from the yellowed horizon. It looked nowhere near as intimidating as one might expect, instead it seemed to beckon the wanderers. The intricate runes that lined its walls seeming intriguing and exotic. As Theo advanced ever closer, he noticed how parts of the ruin had crumbled over the years, leaving shadowed cavities in its exterior.
"It looks different to how I imagined it would look," Theo spoke aloud, pausing to study the dark structure for a moment.
"Well, yes, it would do. A multitude of objects and various miscellaneous things appear different to how a person first pictures them to look in their mind's eye," Atreyu said, stepping forward to stand beside Theo, whom shrugged in response. "Mm, I guess."
"Woooow! It's so big! Are we going exploring, huh, huh?" Oswald chirped, staring up at the walls of the ruins.
"Yup," Theo replied, shoving his hands into his pockets and rocking backwards on his heels for a moment. "Who knows, maybe we'll find something cool in there."
Oswald giggled and whizzed away from them, heading into the shade of the ruins gaping entrance and away. "Hey, wait!" Theo yelled, reaching out in a sub-conscious attempt to grab at the small demon bat, however, the Digimon had already disappeared into the depths of the ancient building. "Ugh... Looks like we're gonna' have to go after him. Who knows where he's gotten to already... He's way too fast." He shook his head and stepped into the darkness of the ruins, the remaining members of his pack trailing after him. | Words: 455

partners summery kate is already in the ruins to hide from some of the heat and wind. theo's demidevimon flies in, startling her and causing her gabumon x to attack, the move hitting the wall rather then the digimon due to its speed. notes ily im excited to rp with you~ There was sand literally everywhere, and when she said everywhere she meant absolutely everywhere. As to why she had chosen to explore this place was beyond her, though behind the haze of annoyance and complaints on the environment she knew why she had come. The idea of ruins had intrigued her and her adventurous outdoorsy nature had taken over and brought her here. Sadly she had thought of the dessert surrounding the ruins and engulfing them as something she could handle, and although she was still alive she wasn't exactly pleased. Shaking her head and wiping her face from the sand that hit her Kate and her three Digimon had rushed into the ruins without thinking much of it but from some form of protection from the sand and heat. Oh god the heat. The ruins had fallen apart, making their appearance sad and forgotten to the girl but there were some spaces where she could hide from natures assault on her body. There, in some corner of what may have been a room back in its day, she dusted her long gray dress off. Her normal everyday clothing choice for the Digital World wasn't something made for heat. It had protected her from the assaulting sand that blistered her bare skin but the heat was something near unbearable for her in what she was wearing. Making note to shop for something a little less dark and long when she returned to her respective city Kate eyed her three Digimon near her, shaking their fur to get the fur off their pelts. Walking over she helped the best she could, softly panting from the elevated exhaustion this place was giving her. The ruins were quiet, she could hear basically everything though majority of the noise was the wind rushing through holes and caved in walls. There was something that caught her attention, it sounded like a voice but with the loud whistling of the wind she couldn't really be sure if that was what she heard. “ Guys...” Kate began, her voice low as she stood back up straight beside her Gabumon X, “ Did you hear something or was it just me?” Her question was never really answered by those she asked, instead her eyes darted towards a fast moving object coming towards them. Letting out a small squeal Kate ducked down again, afraid whatever that was flying would hit her if she stayed standing. The Digimon she stood closes to was the first to attack the flying Digimon, despite its aim and move hitting a part of the wall it passed in quick speed. A burst of flame erupted from the snarling Digimons jaws, bursting against the wall in a small cloud of embers. “ C-Calm down, I don't think it was trying to harm us. It's okay.” she said, her hand resting on her Digimons paw as she slowly stood back up. “ I don't... I don't think that thing would be living here. Maybe I did here a voice.” she whispered mainly to herself as she blinked in slight confusion, her hands dusting her dress down yet again.

| Theo hadn't realized just how blisteringly hot it had been out there until he stepped inside the cooling shade of the ruins. He'd stopped for the briefest of moments to soak in the cool air before continuing to chase after the receding shape of the digital bat, Vincent and Atreyu at his heels. "Ozzie! Wait!" Theo called out, feeling just the teensiest bit stupid for throwing the Digimon's nickname out into the atmosphere. There's probably no one around anyways, he reassured himself.
However, those mentally spoken words of reassurance were quickly shot down, when an alien blast of noise echoed down the dark hallways and bounced in Theo's direction. He paused, panting from exertion. A burst of heroic action from me for approx. two minutes and I'm worn down... Hopefully, it won't be as bad the further down into the ruins I go, but, what in heck was that noise? He frowned. Was someone else (or worse, something else...) here?
"You two, stay close to me, alright?" Theo turned, glancing back at the pack of two. Vincent shrugged half-heartedly, as Atreyu remained still in thought.
"It's of my best interest that we approach with caution from here on out," Atreyu said, stepping closer, his face as carefully blank as per the norm.
"How about the little whizz-bat?" Vincent asked. "We just gonna' leave 'im?"
"For now," Theo replied. "He usually comes back, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem."
"Yes, but, what if that particular noise was, in fact, warning us that he's been hit?"
"Uh..." Theo faltered. He hadn't thought of that. Oswald was just made up of data, or whatever, right? It wasn't like he was particularly alive, and yet... His unique personality - all of the personalities of each and every Digital Monster he'd seen so far... They were all so, different.
Without a word, he set off at a run in the direction the noise had come from.
"Hehehe! What was that noise? Did I just pass something? I dunno~ Whatever it was, it went shwooooosh~!" Oswald sang, twirling around yet another corner. He had no idea where he was going, but, possibly, he'd find something shiny and treasure-like. That's what they were searching for, right? Then, once he found it, he'd return with it and be given a pat on the head for his good work! Maybe they'd even let him keep what he finds! "That'd be awesome!" Oswald chirruped, dancing on the spot, before hurtling down yet another corridor.
Meanwhile, Theo had skidded to a halt in one particular room, where he swore the source of the sound had come from. Vincent bumped into the wall adjacent to the blonde. Atreyu immediately leapt into the air upon turning the corner, his ears outstretched to give him added oomph, before landing on Theo's head.
Typical of practically all of the corridors and empty spaces of the ruins, the walls of this small area had caved in here and there. However, what wasn't typical, was a young woman and her own pack of Digimon standing near one corner of the room. It took the blonde by surprise for a moment, considering the fact that, a short while ago, he'd thought no one would actually bother to traverse the desert to come here. However, that was short-lived.
"That noise... Was it you?" Theo shook his head. "No, never mind... Listen, have you seen a DemiDevimon pass by here? He'd probably look something like a dark grey, flying version of Sonic the hedgehog."
"I thought you said you were gonna leave 'im?" Vincent muttered, rubbing his aching head as he got to his feet. Theo shook his head slightly, but, didn't respond. The Muchomon fell silent. | Words: 627

partners summery datsonicref. kate tells theo she's seen something that probably was what he's looking for, pointing to where it flew off and offering him her assistance in tracking it down. notes sorry this took me a while to post up, dat procrastination spirit within me. ; 3; Kate hadn't really excepted her assumption to be correct nor did she really expect to see another person standing before her. Her eyes met his figures before he spoke up to her; her Digimon all stared in the direction of the new company, her Gabumon X staying behind her legs as it's eyes turned away to look at the direct of where the flying creature had gone. Blinking twice at the boys words to her Kate simply laughed at the comparison to what he was trying to look for. Sonic the hedgehog? That was funny. She wasn't much of a gamer but even she knew what that was, and with a quick image popping in her head of the iconic blue hedgehog with wings Kate snickered again as she tried to calm her fit. Settling down her laugh Kate thought for a moment about what he had actually said minus the humor of the example given. A flying creature, or rather not creature but a DemiDevimon. That could have been the thing that flew past her head and caused her to duck, and also be what Summer had shot at in defense. Placing her pointer finger on her chin, she tapped it twice before nodding to the blonde boy in front of her. “ Well, there was something.” she began, “ Something fast flew past me just a second ago but he was long gone before I was even able to catch a good look at it. It may be your DemiDevimon.” The fact being that it was his Digimon was yet again a guess, though from only seeing two of the three normal standard in a pack for CrossWire it was an easy assumption. Turning a little bit Kate pointed her finger towards the corridor it had flew through, or rather the only pass it could have gone other then back or out one of the cracks and holes in the wall. “ He went that way since it's... well, the only way to really go other then back the way it came.” she began, her point getting interrupted by her Psychemon piping up. “ It could have gone outside in that horrible sand.” Laughing a little at the thought Kate simply rolled her eyes, “ Why on earth would something or someone want to do that?” she said. “ That's like setting yourself on fire.” Smiling down on her colorful Digimon Kate returned her attention on the boy, her smile going to him as she lowered her arm down. “ I can help you find the little guy! It seemed pretty fast so it would be better if you had more sets of eyes to track it down!” she said, her voice beaming at the chance to do something she found fun, plus prolong her time in the shady system the ruins gave her. “ My name's Katherine, but you can call me Kate!” Putting her hand out for the boy to shake she smiled again, hoping to get a good reaction while her three Digimon stared at the Muchomon and Lopmon near the boy, her Psychemon and Black Gabumon giving small smiles and slight bows of the head to them while her Gabumon X kept her eyes on the corridor she assumed they'd be going through.

| Theo hadn't truly noticed the Tamer's Digimon until now. The fact that she had a trio of wolf-like reptiles was fairly intriguing, being that this was one of the few times that he'd seen a person who had picked out a team very similar to each other in looks. It made him wonder, briefly, if they all had similar attacks... But, that was merely the gamer side of him kicking in. That trail of thought should be blocked off before his mind delved deeper into it and he found himself asking about it out loud. As he focused back in on the present, he realized that the girl was just recovering from a small fit of the giggles. It brought the briefest of smiles to his face. At least humor wasn't dead and gone. Many people he'd walked past back in the real world didn't really seem to have time for laughter. It was all about heading to work or rushing to get home... Things like that.He felt just a little relieved at the mention of something that may have been his DemiDevimon. It was better than nothing. "Well, that's better than nothing," he repeated aloud. "Saying that it was a practically a blur, I'd guess that was probably him." The only matter now was, where the heck Oswald had got to. It was a shame he had a speedy demon bat for a Digimon. The Psychemon's words caused a ball of worry to settle in Theo's stomach. Oswald was a little on the mad side... He wouldn't put it past him to circle around and head back outside, where he could easily get himself lost. However, Theo covered up his concern with a grin. "Yeah, I doubt he'd be crazy enough to do that."At the offer for help, he smiled. "Thanks, we'd be able to track him down much quicker if we had a couple of extra helpers on our side. It'd probably take me and the gang yonks to find the little speed-devil by ourselves." Introductions were quick to come after that, it caught Theo by surprise when the girl actually revealed her name outright. Usually, a Tamer would call themselves by their username. So, it took him a moment to consider if he should reveal his own name. It wasn't like he was giving the whole thing out... So, it couldn't really hurt."My username's Nameless, heh. But you can call me Theo." He took Kate's hand and shook it. Atreyu glanced over at the other Tamer's Digimon, giving them a small polite wave. Vincent nodded in response to the pair's greetings. "Soo, uh, this is the first time I've seen Digimon of this sort, are they, like, related to Gabumon, or something? No offense to you guys, just wondering." It almost brought up the question as to whether they were rare, or something to that effect. But, it might just be the fact that Theo hadn't really done enough exploring as of yet. Or conversing for that matter. Too intent on messing around and generally chillaxing in the Digital World.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY

partners summery Kate takes Theo's hand when they shake, holding it and pulling him forward towards the corridor. Shares her username as well, answering his question about her Digimon and asking her own. notes hand grab and pull of friendship! She felt a tad bit bad that she couldn't have fully confirmed if what she had seen and ducked from had been the DemiDevimon he was looking for. If she could have given him a better description she would have but sadly with her fear of getting hit in the face with whatever was flying so fast and her moment of dodging it she hadn't exactly had her eyes on it the whole time. If anything her Digimon had gotten the best look, mostly Summer being she had been the one to try and strike it down after her small scream, and even then. A part of her felt a little guilty for not being able to help fully and give the boy a one hundred percent guarantee on a wild goose chase he was sure to be on, thus why she had offered to help in his search. Of course there were other reasons as to why she had offered her hand, mostly being she had nothing better to do and she wanted to look through these ruins herself anyways. Killing two birds with one stone, or blue hedgehogs since he was looking for something that resembled sonic. Although this was a game and though it was usually custom to share a username rather then their real name Kate had never gotten used to doing so. It wasn't as if she had forgotten she was in a game, loosing herself in the extreme reality trip it brought on, but rather it was due to her lack of gaming experience in the past that made her treat this like meeting someone new at a party. If it wasn't for the BBS system installed on CrossWire she probably would have forgotten it and thrown it in the back of her mind with all the other information she never used. On the upside to using her actual name most of the time she was given theirs back, it was a friendly gesture after all or so she assumed. The smile she wore bounced on her lips as the boy replied with his introduction, sharing his first name as well as what his username was. She was happy he had given her his actual name in response and not just his username, she never really like addressing people by it unless they could be made into cute nicknames or sounded like names already. For his it would have been difficult: Nameless, she couldn't even think of anything to make that even remotely normal to say in a sentence. Grabbing his hand in a soft hold before he could pull it back Kate nodded happily, pulling gently forward as she began their way towards the corridor entrance. “ It's very nice to meet you Theo!” she said, making sure she wasn't too far ahead or pulling too much. “ Nameless huh? That's an interesting username to go by, I like it. Mine's CryWolf, not as cool or clever but I myself like it a lot.” Looking down at her three Digimon Kate motioned forward, Valar and Nymeria staying behind while Summer darted forward away from the crowd. Hearing his question about her Digimon Kate's smile grew, feeling a little proud to be told they were the first he's seen. It made her feel original and happy. “ They're sub-species to Gabumon, so yeah they are related in some way. Those two in the back are Valar, a BlackGabumon, and Nymeria, a Psychemon.” Kate said, nodding to what he had said before motioning behind them where the two Digimon stood. “ And the one in the front's a Gabumon with the X-Antibody, Summer.” When she motioned to her two Digimon behind her eyes fell to Theo's team, or rather what was left of the usual three. She knew of the rabbit-like Digimon, her friend Ryan had chosen one as part of his team as well, but the orange one she couldn't place a name on. “ So... is the DemiDevimon we're looking for part of your team right?” she asked, despite already knowing the answer through assumptions. “ And that one over there, the orange bird-like Digimon. What's that one called? I know the cute little rabbit one is a Lopmon.”

| Theo hadn't expected to suddenly be tugged gently along in the wake of Kate, but, he took to it easily enough. A small smile of amusement played on his lips and he glanced back to Vincent. The Muchomon seemed to take to the sudden change from standing around to walking casually enough and simply tagged along after them at a slow pace. Atreyu huffed quietly, not used to such a close proximity to anyone but Theo and the pack. "Likewise," Theo replied with a nod. "Being used to spewing out clever things, it just popped up in my head quite naturally. I think CryWolf's pretty cool; fits."As Kate motioned to her Digimon, answering his question, he looked back at them. "Ah, cool. I didn't know there was such a variety." He turned back to look at her as she asked her own question. "Yup, and he's a bit of a nuisance. Always going off and doing his own thing, haha." Vincent tilted his head in Kate's direction as she gestured his way with a mention of his looks and Atreyu huffed for a second time, burying his face in Theo's hair. He wasn't fond of all this chatter. "Oh, Vincent? He's a Muchomon. They're like... the tropical version of Penguinmon, I think." Theo reached up to adjust his askew shades. "... I wonder if Oswald's gotten into any trouble without us around..." Even though these guys were nothing but a bunch of coloured pixels. Thoughts just kept revolving around in his head, nagged at him, telling him that there was something more to it than that. It was almost as if they were children that you had to constantly keep watch of - well, in Oswald's case anyway - with memories, personalities, connections all of their own. It was almost disconcerting to think it over for too long a time. That these creatures, creations of a game, could be so complex in nature and thought. Theo had to stop himself from physically shaking his head in awe. It must be something to do with the programming, he mused. Not that I could achieve such a thing... Unless I suddenly took up coding classes, or something, of course."I wonder how far down these ruins go?" Theo asked aloud, drawing his mind away from the theories rising up in his brain. - - - - - Oswald giggled to himself as he rounded the next corner, his wings silently taking him to where he wanted to go. "Wheee~ I'm like an explorer, or something! I wonder if there's any secret entrances or tunnels down here?" He stopped to ponder it for a moment, before dropping to the floor and waddling along. "My wings are tired~ I'm gonna' walk for a bit."He hopped along a few steps, humming to himself. As he gained a little altitude during a hop however, something caught his eye in the distance. "Oooh~ Shiny!" He headed in its direction, his face alighting with curiosity and excitement. "I wonder if it's treasure!"------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY
- Theo allows himself to be dragged along by Kate. Exchanging her questions for his own answers, as well as throwing a random question related to the ruins up to rid himself of his train of thought. Meanwhile, Oswald finds something that catches his interest and heads over in that direction.

partners summery Kate talks to Theo, commenting on things he's said and wondering about the ruins due to his question. notes ; ~; im horrible. took so long to post for you but it's okay cause ill be posting faster for you now! ily. also, i was wondering if you wanted to have a wild Digimon appear for fun~ either by a admin/ mod posting up a Digimon or us having one appear. She hoped he didn't mind her grabbing his hand and pulling him towards where she assumed the little devil bat had gone; of course if he did he wasn't reacting like it. Her hand was still holding his and he hadn't made any attempt to give her a hint – subtle or not – to stop what she was doing so her worries were pushed out of her head. Rolling her eyes in a friendly manner to his comment of being able to come up with clever things Kate bit her tongue to stop the need to laugh. She wasn't sure if he was serious or not but either way she found what he had said funny, though with evidence of his user name it was hard to disagree her could think of something clever. “ You think it's cool? Yay!” she said, a short laugh escaping her lips. “ Coming from someone who can think of clever things naturally that's quite a compliment.” Her tone was playful, teasing even, which made her hope she wasn't crossing a line with her small fun, they had just met after all. Nodding slightly to his comment about the DemiDevimon they were on the hunt for Kate smiled in amusement hearing the way the boy talked about his Digimon. The way he described the little guy made her wonder if this wasn't the first time it had wondered about to do its own thing, leaving its Tamer and team mates behind to either search or wait for its return. If that was the case she understood why Theo had used the word “nuisance” to describe it, she would as well if her Digimon pulled the same stunt. Luckily she didn't have to worry about such things; her Digimon had their faults, quite a lot of them to be exact, but they were obedient to near everything she said and they stayed put where she was unless to check if the coast was clear or entering a battle they wished for her to stay out of for safety reasons. They nearly always stayed within eyesight of her, for her sake or theirs she never really knew nor brought up to know the answer. Keeping her eyes on the orange penguin like Digimon she had asked about Kate nodded again, smiling at the creature before turning her head to face forward again. “ I like him, his coloration is pretty. Very bright, but in a good way!” she said before giving Theo's hand a soft squeeze as her tone softened. “ Don't worry, I'm sure he hasn't done that. We'll find him fast, kay?” As they kept going Kate let the silence fall between them only to be interrupted by Theo's question. She doubted it was asked to be answered by her, and if it was she wouldn't be able to answer it seriously or with any specific information. Shrugging her shoulder a bit Kate rubbed her eyes with her free hand, fixing her glasses as she brought it back to her side. “ I'm not sure really but I'd imagine far, that is if the sand hasn't buried the rest...” she began, her attention and eyes tracing the corridor they had walked into, shivering a bit at the thought of the blistering sand she had escaped from. “ At least there's light though, it would be hard to find our way if there wasn't...”

| From outside, the ruins looked fairly big, yes, but not gigantic. Oswald just over-exaggerated on details a bit. Well, when Theo thought of a bit... No, he really meant a lot. The chatterbat was just as likely to say a small pond looked like an ocean, as the ruins were bigger than they actually seemed exterior-wise. Although, Theo did think that these ruins, once walking around inside of them, were going to turn out to just as labyrinthine as his mind believes them to be. He smiled as Katherine teased him lightheartedly. "Glad you think so," he said, his expression turning serious for a moment, then he chuckled. Atreyu sighed quietly and straightened up a little; letting his gaze wander as the group walked along. "I'll keep a keen observational lookout for our missing confederate," he told them, keeping his eyes focused purposely away from the Tamers and their Digimon. "Who knows, he might not be as lost as we judge him to be; we might stumble across him very soon.""Or he might be flitting about way ahead," Vincent added, causing Theo to glance back at him with a subtle frown of worry. The Muchomon merely shrugged in response to the look. His crested ears twitched a little as Kate mentioned him once more. A twitch of something that could have been a smile seeped upwards from his beak. He loved his colouration and to be told it was bright in the right way was a good thing to him. "Yeah... Shouldn't be too much of a problem with so many eyes to rely on," Theo said, his smile brief, but, still obvious for those few moments it was there. Oswald was just such a pain... But, he was kind of glad he'd picked him. At least he hadn't ended up with grumps for Digimon. Even though Atreyu seemed to act it at times. He still retained that polite attitude, even when he wasn't feeling all too good when around too many people at any one time. Theo soon ended up pondering about the many corridors that extended outwards throughout the ruins. If sand had covered up some of the entranceways, then it would save them some time, at least, in finding Oswald. Besides, the Digimon couldn't hold that burst of energy for too long before having to rest... How had it got back on the subject of him? Why did he worry so much about him? There were just recreated data in a game... He frowned a little, trying to push out the crowding thoughts. "Yeah, that's true. At least that'll help us in finding the little rascal," he replied, with a nod. "Plus, we're safe from all of the heat, too." Theo shook his head at the thought of braving the desert once more. He'll have to do it again eventually though. And it'll probably be like venturing through Hell again, but, eh, what could be done? It was still pretty amazing how much details could be put into a game like this. What with the difference in weather and things. "Oh, hey, that reminds me... What brought you here? Was it the theory that there could be treasure here, or something else?"------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY
- Theo continues chatting away with Kate, and throws another question her way. It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, without the million. xD Atreyu has also decided to keep a keen eye out for Oswald.

partners summery She keeps talking to Theo as they continue on through the ruins, answering his questions about why she had come here in the first place and explaining her reasons before asking him the same. notes :U Minotarumon sounds good yesyes! though make sure it's the champ. version or else we'll die... we aint ready for the ultimate ; - ; Keeping quiet as she listened to the Lopmon perched atop Theo's head as it talked she couldn't help but compare the Digimon to the first Lopmon she met in this game. It was a Digimon of one of her friends from before; it was female, or at least that's what she assumed given the way it acted, and a pretty cheerful one at that. Theo's Lopmon didn't give off the same first impression as that one had, though it was pretty easy to assume every Digimon – even those of the same species – had their own personalities that set them apart. That aspect about Digimon was always intriguing. On one hand they were made up of data and numbers, yet they held personality, thoughts, and aspirations like people. In truth the whole topic was both intriguing and confusing to Kate; if she thought too much of it she'd end up getting a headache and contradicting her own ideas and hypothesis. Nodding to what Theo said in regards to this excursion not being much of a problem due to the amount of eyes looking for the rambunctious DemiDevimon Kate took a small breath, her eyes peering into the distance the best she could for hopes of some sign of the Digimon or something interesting they could go up to on the way for a moment. “ Yup, plus my Digimon have a good sense of smell. Especially Summer over there.” she said, pointing towards the Gabumon X that kept its distance in the front, its head rearing from side to side as it surveyed the corridor and ruins. “ Think of them like tracker-dogs, even if two of them aren't actually beasts.” What she had said was true; Summer was the only actual beast/ dog-like Digimon she had in actuality. Though Valar and Nymeria appeared like canines they were actually reptiles hiding their bodies under fur; in the beginning she hadn't known this and the surprise of finding out had scared her in a surprise-party/ loud noise/ slender static type of way. Of course that didn't mean she loved them any less, it was those odd quirks that made her find them rather adorable despite never using that word out loud. Shivering again at the reminder of the heat they had both escaped from Kate was reminded to never wear what she was to this place ever again. Though the long sleeves and length of the dress had kept her safe from the sand the dark, heat storing colors of the fabric had made the trip outside unbearable and frankly annoying. She had been lucky to find a place in the broken down ruins where she could hide from natures assaults, take a breather if not for a moment, and dust off the sand that seemed to stick to her. In the back of her mind she made a note to take some form of a bath or jump in water; she had yet to try out that function in this odd game. She wondered how it would effect her actual body since all of this was triggered and broadcaster in her mind... or something. In truth she wasn't listening to the technical stuff they had told her when registering nor really looked into it herself, it was all too elaborated and detailed enough to make her just nod along. Tilting her head a bit she looked at Theo as he asked his question about why she had come to the ruins. “Um...” her gaze drifted from the blonde boy to what was in front of her as she pondered the reasoning for coming to the ruins. She had heard about the possibility of treasure or something of equal value hidden in the ruins but no one had actually documented finding what they talked about. A part of her knew those rumors had triggered her curiosity quite a lot, the idea of being the first person to find something amazing and show it off had sprang to her mind every so often. “ I guess you can say that... I mean, I wasn't really set on finding something today though it would have been cool! I just wanted to explore really... I don't exactly like the feeling of being in a cramped space, you know?” she said, nodding her head as she mentally accepted and agreed with her answer. “ Even if it's a game I don't want to feel like I'm just crammed in my room. If that was the case I would never have come here! Plus this Digital World place is pretty cool... it's like traveling the globe in less then a week and with non of the bills to pay for it!” Smiling at the boy she cocked her head a little to the side, “ What about you? Did you come to find some treasure?”

| "Yeah, that too." Theo nodded. "Oh yeah, I keep forgetting that Gabumon's a reptile... The same goes for those two, huh? You wouldn't expect it, what with the fur." He gestured at the aforementioned pelts, studying both of the Digimon a moment in thought. "There's a lot of knowledge still hidden from us in this world, huh?" Way too much to focus on at any one time. Each new piece of information about this place had to be taken step by step, due to the bizarre nature of it. Like, that jungle with all of those odd giant mice and keyboards cluttering about the trees and earthy floor, or the randomly placed signposts littered about the desert during his journey here... Yup, in order to actually make sense of the true order and nature of this world, you would first have to keep a wary distance from it - view it from afar and keep a single eye on it until you could finally grasp at the meanings and data of the digitally created world. Theo doubted he'd ever be able to truly understand this place. It made as much sense as Wonderland did to Alice. As Kate replied and mentioned the feeling of being in a confined space, Theo nodded in agreement. "I know what you mean." He fell silent soon after to ponder for a brief time on her return question. "Yeah, kinda. Pretty much the same as you really," he finally said with a shrug. "Thought there might be a chance of finding something here, as well as just finding an excuse to get out and do some more exploring. The Digital World has a depth to it I haven't really seen before."Atreyu, meanwhile, had lifted his ears swiftly in alarm. Although his expression remained typically neutral, something flashed by in his gaze that could have been taken as worry. "I heard something," he uttered. "It sounded like something impacting the wall.""What? Where?""Further along, but, of course, I can't pinpoint the exact location."Theo glanced Kate's way. "... That could be him." And then he was off, with Vincent calling after him to wait. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The shiny item looked more and more gleaming with every hop Oswald took forward. He couldn't make out much, but, it was definitely there, shining away. He hummed happily to himself as he continued along his route, smiling joyfully. "I'll take it back to the others, and they will be so proud~" he half-sang. "Maybe I'll get to choose our destination for the next time we go exploring? Ooooh, that'd be so fun!" He grinned and hurried as quickly as his short legs would allow him, flapping his wings every so often to extend his bounds forward. As he got nearer, however, he found the shiny object to be a little on the big side. Way too large to drag all the way back with him. "Maybe I could whittle it down a bit," he mused aloud to himself. "Ahaha, yes! And then I would be able to take it back easily!" So saying so, he readied himself for his favourite attack and flung out a couple of syringes at the metal cylinder - they pinged off of it harmlessly. Confused, Oswald tried again, and this time something moved. However, it wasn't anything of what Oswald was thinking it would turn out like. Instead, the gigantic demon arm lifted up and slammed back down, propping up the half-asleep Minotarumon. It grunted to itself before heaving to its feet, staring down in distaste at the Rookie Digimon. Jumping at the motion of the beast, Oswald leapt into the air, the space of which he had to quickly dodge as the same metallic arm came crashing down where he had been moments before, cracking the wall in the process. "Uh, hiya?" Oswald attempted a sheepish smile, which was soon cut short by a growl. "I didn't know the shiny thing was yours... Should I leave?"The Minotarumon bellowed in answer. "... I take that as a no, then?"MINOTARUMON (CHAMPION) Earthquake Drill - Thrusts its Demon Arm into the earth, creating a gigantic earthquake. Demon Arm - Punches the foe with its Demon Arm. Slam Dunk - Slams down on the foe with first the Demon Arm and then its normal arm. Rusted Fog - Breathes out a fog that can poison or blind if breathed in. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY
- Theo answers Kate's return question, but any further conversation they might have had is cut short by Atreyu's spoken concern of a strange noise he had heard. Theo goes running off hoping they're close to Oswald.
- Oswald finds 'treasure' and attempts to move it or whittle it down some to take back with him. However, he finds out that the shiny thing is in fact attached to the end of a Minotarumon Champion's arm.

| Notes: Yup, I'll make sure of it. I actually didn't realize that the Minotaru Champ was an error until looking back at it today. Buh, hope the attacks are alright, I had the idea of a Minotarumon attacking Ozzie for a while. xD | | |

partners summery Kate begins to reply back to what Theo had said about the Digital World before stopping to hear what the Lopmon said. Seeing her Digimon react to whatever was ahead Valar comes up to Kate, telling her the plan should be to go slow and take caution. Before she can relay the message she sees Theo run off ahead, following behind after him. Once she gets to where he is she stops, seeing a large Digimon ahead before trying to quietly pull Theo away so they can be safe. notes i hope it's okay that i had kate run after theo and see the Minotarumon .... if it's not then i can just easily remove that part yesyes ILY CROW Listening to Theo state there was a lot of hidden knowledge about this world Kate merely nodded in agreement. The Digital World and the CrossWire game itself seemed like something that could easily be classified as “too good to be true”. Of course a lot of things had advanced over the years, or at least that’s what her parents told her. She had been born in this day and age and all the “advanced” technology was normal to her, but even so this virtual reality game seemed too real. The Digimon that were supposedly creatures made of data seemed just as real as a living puppy or cat; the way they entered this larger than life world was amazing and something straight out of the comics. It all was just so... confusing. As they walked Kate turned her attention to the two Digimon behind her and Theo, her eyes gazing upon the BlackGabumon and Psychemon that had stayed quiet the entire time they had been here. It was normal for that to happen, or rather when people were talking; she assumed Nymeria or Valar's silence had been caused by both the group of strangers around them and the continuous chit chat the two Tamers had been doing since stumbling upon each other. She wouldn't – nor couldn't even if she tried – to force her Digimon to speak to the Muchomon or Lopmon within ear shot. They'd speak when they wanted and if they decided to keep quiet until they left then so be it. Giving them a small smile Kate turned her attention back forward, watching Summer sniff the air and steadily walk forward. She was really trying to find anything before it found them, or so it seemed to the girl. She was happy to hear Theo agreed with her reasoning for coming to the ruins as well as understand where she was coming from. Feeling cooped up in a confined space made her feel anxious, made her remember things she didn't want to remember and cause her to have a bad taste in her mouth. That was why she was nearly always out and about except when she returned to her Home Server to rest. She slept so much here... they had warned her activity in the Digital World would bring on exhaustion faster but even so it still felt like she slept more then the average Tamer here. “ This place really does have depth... It all feels so real, it's hard to believe it's some form of g-...” Her sentence was cut short though her message was clear. Her attention had drifted to the Lopmon as it spoke then to Summer in front of them. The Gabumon X had begun to growl as it's nose stayed raised in the air with ears perked to the sky; she hadn't caught the growling when she was in thought or talking but now that she paid attention she wondered how she had drowned out the noise. “ Summer, stay. Don't go on ahead anymore.” Kate spoke up to her Digimon, stopping her step as she felt a small tug against her dress from behind. It was Valar, his claws wrapped around the black fabric before letting go once the two made eye contact. “ We have caught the scent of something, proceeding with caution should be our next step.” Giving a quick glance to Nymeria who nodded in approval of the BlackGabumon's plans Kate nodded at her Digimon, turning her attention to Theo to relay the message only to hear his small comment and watching him run ahead. “ W-What...” Kate blinked, slowly registering the Tamer once beside her going off before shaking her head. “ Theo! Theo you can't just rush into things!” Whimpering as she looked to her Digimon and the direction the blonde had went Kate rushed the way Theo had gone, trying to catch up with the boy the best she could. “ Theo wait up!” she called, her Digimon following behind the girl as she dashed forward. It hadn't taken that long to catch up with the male Tamer and her Digimon, her breath slightly winded as she stopped a few steps behind him. “ T-Theo... you can't just run off like that.” She said, taking small breaths in as she eyed the backside of the boys head before her gaze ventured off to what was ahead of them. The tall beastly figure of a upright bull came into her vision, her body taking a subconscious step back as her mind tried to wrap around what she was looking at. “ T-Theo...” she whispered, forcing herself to walk forward before taking the boys wrist in her hands gently. “ We should leave, that thing is huge, it can kill us. Let's go...” She could feel the fur of her Digimon's pelts rub up against her clothes as they got close to her, willing to attack the Minotarumon if necessary but holding off at the moment. “ Theo...”

| There was a click of the tongue from Vincent as he watched the shadows engulf Theo's receding form. A flash of worry settled itself in the Muchomon's brain and he took up the chase at the same time that Kate did, mentally battling it out with the foreign feeling as he ran. Soon, Theo came to a sudden stop, his breath quick from the sudden dash and additional concern that circled his mind again and again. It took him a few seconds to realize what he was actually seeing, and when he did, his hands clenched into fists; a flurry of fear rising up in his stomach. The nightmarish bull turned to stare down at him, its face set in darkness, its eyes alight with fury. Beneath its silhouette, merely a miniature half-masked ball beneath the horned giant, Oswald looked up at the feral Digimon. He noticed his Tamer and waved a wing at him, completely oblivious to the actual danger he was in. "Hey! I found a shiny thing, but it actually belonged to this guy, and I was like-" His words were interrupted by the Minotarumon immediately changing targets and lashing out at Oswald with its Demon Arm. It struck him square in the face and sent him flying back into the wall opposite, where he landed in an unconscious heap. "Damnit," Theo cursed, his brow creasing in anger. Out of anything he had been expecting when catching up to Oswald, it definitely wasn't this. Especially when this abomination had just slammed into his team-mate. He heard Kate stop behind him, but remained silent, simply shaking his head slightly as she warned him about running off. Vincent stepped up besides Theo, his gaze taking in the sight before him with as little care as possible. Theo pulled away from Kate's touch, his face set in determination. "Oswald's in trouble, I can't just leave him."Atreyu leapt to the floor, his face blank, but his eyes radiating anger. "We cannot abscond without facing down this adversary. Additionally one that has harmed a member of our team." There was hint of snarl to his words, directed at the monster before them. "So... what kinda thing are you supposed to be? A minotaur-wannabe? Ha, yeah... I'll tell you what it means to pack a punch." Theo lowered his head, his blonde hair slipping over the rims of his sunglasses, and brought his fists up. "... Atreyu, could you do the honours?"The Lopmon splayed his ears wide and fired multiple bursts of iced air at the Minotarumon. It raised its left arm to protect itself, the shots bouncing off of it harmlessly. It grunted and lifted its Demon Arm once more - and was immediately subjected to fiery bullets. Vincent shut his beak again, satisfied that he'd put off the creature a bit. A growl rumbled upwards from its throat and it began to move forward towards them; a distorted snarl running across its features. "Keep distracting it," Theo said quietly. "I'll go in and get Oswald." He inched forwards; Atreyu glanced sideways at him. "Stay, me and Vincent will deal with this. And hopefully..." He trailed off for a moment to glance back at the accompanying Tamer and her Digimon. "If Katherine will be joining us; we will have the assistance needed to bring this thing down.""The longer I leave it, the worse his situation will be." And with that, Theo darted forwards, heading over in the direction of the silent DemiDevimon. "Ugh," Atreyu uttered, however, he launched another dozen air shots at the Minotarumon, who's gaze had drifted from the group of Digimon and the single human to focus on the moving target. The words: The bigger they are, the harder they fall began to play like a mantra in Atreyu's head, as the Minotarumon lifted its Demon Arm once again. 'The bigger they are, the more difficult they are to kill,' he thought bitterly to himself. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY
- Theo comes to halt before the Minotarumon and notices Oswald. However, the DemiDevimon, in the middle of a speech, is sent flying backwards and knocked out by the Minotarumon's fist. Theo refuses to leave, only wanting to save his team-mate and has Atreyu and Vincent distract the Champion level so he can go in and save the chatter-bat.
- Atreyu launched his technique Blazing Ice at the Minotaru, it did next to nothing.
- Vincent followed it up with Ardent Flare to win them some form of distraction.
- Atreyu shot off another Blazing Ice to keep the Minotarumon preoccupied.

partners summery Kate is taken aback by the whole situation, finally realizing that Theo's Digimon is here after him telling her he could leave. As she watches the boy dart to get his partner and the Minotarumon loosing its attention on his Digimons attack she whistles to get its focus back on them rather then Theo. With the beast irritated by the noise her Digimon charge to attack it, Valar ( BlackGabumon ) using Napalm Shot and Summer ( Gabumon X ) using Flame burst on the Minotarumon normal arm and shoulder/ forearm of the arm with its Demon Arm respectively. Nymeria goes to attack before being stopped by Kate who comes up with a plan, only to be stopped before being able to tell it as fog from Minotarumon's Rusted Fog attack rolls in, blocking her view of Theo and the Digimon. notes i went extremely overboard with this post.. idk why i put so much unneeded detail that probably sucks into this. </3 Despite the dangers presented to Tamers who visited the untamed Digital World and the many warnings given Katherine had never found it that dangerous. The environments presented within this world were the only threat she found, or at least had ever found until up to this point. She had never really ran into wild Digimon who appeared threatening with an aura that made her freeze in her steps and made her fear for her life. Maybe she didn't explore as much as other Tamers thus making her rather ignorant to the dangers preached to the testers like a daily chorus. Deep within her slow, near halted thought process her inner self agreed with the statement of that being the answer to why she overlooked the danger notices she had gotten. A part of her cursed her ignorance and charge forward but the other part merely found the idea of shooting down her actions as idiotic and uncaring. Theo had ran forward before she was able to stop and slow his movement and if she hadn't gone after him he'd be facing this... beast alone. Her breath was caught in her throat as her emerald eyes continued to scan the monstrous figure before the two Tamers and their teams. It was large, that was for sure, but not only in height but in girth as well; whatever they had stumbled upon was strong just from appearance and threatening just by sight. She half hoped that Theo would agreed immediately to leave with her before the beast took aim for them, her hand clenched onto his both in fear and urgency to find a form of shelter. As the boy she had followed pulled away from her hands Kate blinked as she stared at the boy in confusion. He told her Oswald was in trouble and that he couldn't just leave him; her eyes blinked at the statement, her confusion taking over her fear for the split second as her mind registered the name to the DemiDevimon this search had centered upon. The creature was here? For the moment when her confusion took over she looked around the room, desperately trying to avoid the beast before them until she found the body of the small navy blue bat like creature on the ground. She could only assume that what she was staring at was Oswald, possibly injured from the large humanoid beast man that toppled over her and Theo with a snarl. Returning her eyes to the blonde Kate's hands retreated to her chest as she finally let her small breath escape her lips. She understood now why Theo didn't agree with her plea to leave for safety, she hadn't known the partner he had been searching for was here. An apology rang in her mind, forming on her tongue but she couldn't speak the sorry she wished to; her eyes had drifted back to the massive Digimon and with it her ability to speak and breath freely froze. In silence her ears picked up on his Lopmon's voice, the brief image of moments prior appearing before her like a blissful reminder, before hearing Theo's voice afterward. She watched in a daze as the Lopmon attacked the Minotarumon at the command of the boy then the Muchomon following up after the Lopmon's moves hit. Should she help? Her eyes went to that of her Digimon circled tightly around her legs in protection, a orchestra of growls emanating from each of them at the wild Digimon that had appeared. She wasn't worried about her Digimon not being able to get into the sudden battle vibe, they liked to fight – much more then she had expected upon entering CrossWire – but it was more so that she was worried in the way a family member would fear for the safety of their loved one going off to war. She didn't want her pack to experience pain but despite that she didn't want Theo and his party to stick this out alone; she liked the boy despite the short time of knowing him, if you could call small talk getting to know someone. Blinking twice to what Theo was saying about him going to get Oswald and the Lopmon looking back at her as he spoke Kate merely managed a small nod to the Digimon. Half of what it said registered in her mind but she had gotten the gist of the meaning: she would help them however way would be the most effective. Watching Theo dart towards the DemiDevimon still on the ground her attention drifted to the Lopmons second hail of attacks then to the Minotarumon who seemed to stray its eyes from them to just Theo. Her eyes narrowed in a glare at the lack of attention they were getting from the beast, “ Dammit...” she muttered to herself as she bit down on her bottom lip in frustration. Trying to think of a way to gain its attention quickly to give Theo enough time to grab his partner a small idea popped into her mind. Bringing her fingers to her mouth Kate whistled as loud as she could, the noise echoing and bouncing off the walls as it evaded everyone’s hearings in the general area of the room. Her Digimon all stared at her in confusion but her attention was set on them; her eyes met the turning head of the Minotarumon before it let out a loud roar of irritation from the noise she made. The plan to gain its attention had worked. Wincing at the roar Kate felt her Digimon brush against her clothes and legs as they moved in front of her, taking their positions near Theo's Digimon as the Minotarumon raised it's Demon Arm to thrust into the earth. Before it could the three sub-species of Gabumon shot their attacks towards the large Champion in attempt to damage and stop it from making an attack. Valar, her BlackGabumon, opened its jaws as a fury of fireballs shot towards the Digimon before exploding on impact of its normal arm; Summer did a similar attack, shooting fireballs at the beasts shoulder and forearm that carried the massive metal appendage replaced for its hand. Nymeria on the other hand stayed put without attacking, being stopped from doing anything by the small touch of her Tamer to get its attention. “ If we can get you close we might be able to slow it down with one of your attacks... but...” Kate began, her voice trialing off at the loud sound of the Minotarumon taking a heavy step back from the attacks dealt to it. She tried to find Theo within the mess of attacks but as her eyes caught the blondes figure a quick moving fog blocked her sight. A small whimper emerged from her lips as she backed away slowly, her eyes squinting and catching the image of the Minotarumon spearing the fog from its mouth. “ Cover your mouth! Don't inhale this stuff in.” the voice of her BlackGabumon shot through the foggy area, Kate's hands immediately covering her mouth at his command.

| Theo skidded to a halt beside the prone form of the DemiDevimon, the sounds of the Minotarumon's roars and booming footsteps echoing back to him. He crouched and gingerly scooped up Oswald. "You'll be okay," he murmured, cradling him to his chest. This was bad... With only two to fight with that Champion level could deal them some serious damage. It was obvious, what with a single strike sending the usually energetic devil bat into unconsciousness. Although... he had hit the side of the wall of these ruins. That might've been more to do with his current state than anything. He shook his head to clear it of the wandering thoughts that rampaged through his head. Now wasn't the time for that. The sound of blasts and the scattering of ashes made Theo turn back. Kate was assisting him with distracting the creature, and for that he was simultaneously grateful and relieved. However, as he got to his feet, her BlackGabumon called out something and a wave of fog came rolling in. With his mind screaming that this was bad, very bad - he held his breath with Oswald still resting in his arms. If he could just get through this and back to the others, it should be okay. He advanced forward, his eyes alternating between the giant silhouette of the enemy and the way from whence he came. Atreyu bared his teeth in agitation, leaping back as the waves of deadly mist came rushing forward to greet him. There was only so much that they could do, if they could manage to get at this Minotarumon and work as a team against him, they should be able to stop his attacks, or - if it was an open possibility - bring him down. Taking a breath as the fog overcame him, Atreyu hurried over to Kate and the remaining Digimon quartet. Spoken words were a danger at this time, and the only logical thing that Atreyu could think of was to gesticulate his plan of action. He leaped and hovered for a few split seconds close to Katherine's face, waving at her to gain her attention, and then dropped to the floor. Gesturing to her pack and Vincent, he glanced over in the direction of the vague Minotarumon shadow, circling with one paw around it and slamming the same paw down on his other one. In order to stop the enemy, encircling it and attacking with all that they've got was the only way to go. Vincent nodded, his eyes already drifting to the wild Champion level. A spark of embers fluttered out from his beak, fluttering through the fog to drift to the floor soon after. He was ready when they were. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY
- Theo finally manages to get to Oswald, however as he stands, after scooping him up, he notices the fog. Holding his breath, he proceeds to make his way back. Meanwhile, Atreyu is attempting to make a plan of action. He goes over to Kate and the remaining four Digis and attempts to communicate, through gestures, how they could go about bringing down the Minotarumon.
