COME WHAT MAY | After stopping by the Coliseum, they had finally trekked outside of Hikari City. The main use of transportation to the other cities was a Digimon called a Locomon, a train like Digimon that could take them to Kurai City and the Academy. When she had first seen the train Digimon, she stared at it for a long time. Did they have every type of Digimon here? Were there appliances also? Did they have a microwave Digimon? She would love to see one of those actually. The others noticed that she was acting strangely and ushered her along towards one of the teleportation portals that would take them down to the Digital World.
Before they left, the four of them stood together and decided to think of a location in mind to explore. They did not have a site in mind when they decided to leave, only that they go somewhere that would interest all of them…or the majority of them. Noir was only interested in going back to the Coliseum and fighting whoever showed up next. While she did not mind fighting to gain the experience of it, there were others places inside the data world. Rouge explained to her that there were places such as canyons, jungles, forests, and even an island. Verte expressed interest in the Resistor Jungle, saying there was a place with a waterfall somewhere inside that was perfect for sightseeing. Putting that location towards the top of their list, they all decided, Noir reluctantly, to travel to the jungle.
The first thing she noticed about the jungle was that it was extremely humid. Lorelei fanned herself a little in an attempt to wave cool air onto her face though her effort was useless. The Resistor Jungle was a colorful place ranging from the bright colored flowers to the canopy of trees above them. The tropical forest was thriving and she could only stare in awe at the magnificent sight. Verte looked happy to be in this place judging from the way she ran forward laughing. Rouge followed along at a slower pace with Noir grumbling. Not to be left behind, Lorelei followed along while still taking in the sights.
“This way will lead us to the ocean.” Rouge waved his wings to the right to show the direction of the ocean. As always, he knew almost everything about the Digital World, including where everything is located.
Verte spoke up and waved her arms cheerfully. “And this way will lead us to the waterfall!” The Aruraumon ran forward and left them behind again.
The two other pack Digimon sighed at her excitement and Lorelei chuckled. “Let’s follow her before we she runs into trouble. I would hate for any of us to get lost in here.” The three sped up the pace and followed after their cheerful teammate.
“It’s not like know-it-all over there will get us lost. We’ll be fine.” Noir pointed accusingly at the Hawkmon who only glared back. Lorelei sighed and looked between the two.
“As much as I want to hear the two of you start arguing again, I would really like to catch up to Verte.”

ICY_MOON Shit it is hot out here. By what hair on Izanami's head did Kate figure that coming to a hot and humid jungle to explore was a good idea? I released a sigh as I processed these thoughts, my eyes darting around the surrounding local scenery as both Farore and Din trudged beside me. Similarly, they did not appear to appreciate or enjoy this environment to the point that Din willingly remained near my side instead of going on her own. Nayru wandered several steps forward in her place to examine the path I took and I was thankful for it. I had not told them yet the specifics on what we were out here doing nor who we were meeting considering the facts. If I did, it would not go over well.
I mean, I did not anticipate receiving a message from the Oblivion girl from the other day asking to explore. It was abrupt and strange. Nevertheless I did not decline because of my boredom and due to the experience this would grant me. In addition it would be beneficial to get to know this Oblivion girl as well as bolster friendly relations between our digimon considering the last incident. Despite the fact that she is an enemy player she appeared to be a rather nice girl. I suppose I shall simply see how this trip would turn out.
I felt the humidity cling to my skin and it made me feel rather disgusting. As if I had recently worked out despite the fact that I was merely in a game. My body grew weary and my eyes followed Nayru as she persisted. It is a wonder that Nayru could still function. Now that I am looking around however, maybe I could piece together why Kate had asked me to join here out here for an exploration. I approached a nearby flower bush and raised my hand to touch a blushing pink petal with my fingertip. The silky texture enraptured my sense of touch as a smile prodded at the corner of my lips. "The flowers here are very pretty."
Nayru had stopped and turned to me out of the corner of my vision. "Indeed. This jungle is known for its abundant flourishing plant life." My lips pursed. One day I should give Nayru a talk about her lectures. I suppose she has gotten better ever since the first day however it could be better. Farore had come to my side and raised a paw to break off the stem of another flower of a vibrant white. I rose an eyebrow at this. I half expected the flower to dissipate in data instead of remain solidified like a plant in the real world. She had turned the blossom to me and my other hand reach forward to receive it. "Be careful of thorns and toxins if you decide to pick some for the home server." I would have responded however the blossom entranced my eyes.
"We should hurry if we intend to meet your contact." My eyes parted from the flower over to Din as she stalked over towards Nayru. Nayru did not speak to Din and I shook my head as they passed each other. I could not deny that Din was correct however. I should get moving before I lose my way or become late for the meet up. "I suppose so." Thus I managed to turn away from the current flora and return to my pathway lined with other flowers in full bloom that amused me. That is when suddenly one of the bushes rustled causing me to pause momentarily to look back at it. Within moments a wild plant with a pale purple flower upon its head had flown out of the bush to my surprise. Din was swift in returning to my side despite her clear annoyance at the humid heat. Farore did the same with a step before me. However the plant thing did not appear aggressive or confrontational. "Hold a moment."

COME WHAT MAY | Verte was happy that she got to show her tamer where the waterfall was. It was a very pretty sight and she just knew Lorelei would like it. Maybe the other two would stop fighting and bask in the beauty of the sight. She was so excited that she just could not wait. The others were quickly following behind her so they must be excited as well. She couldn’t slow down now! The faster they got there, the faster they could all have fun together!
The Digimon was so excited that she did not see the group once she exited the bushes and almost ran into the human and her pack of Digimon. Luckily she stopped just in time and jumped back in surprise. The Aruraumon stared curiously at the pack group, not even bothering to take a defensive stance. They did not look dangerous and even appeared friendly. But then again, she thought everyone was friendly. “Hi! Are you here to see the waterfall too?” Verte said cheerfully, not at all bothered that they may not be as welcoming as they appeared.
---
Verte had an almost upbeat spring to her step as she dashed through the bushes. The three other pack members were following as fast as they could, keeping an eye on their team member in the distance. It was obvious the Aruraumon was very excited about going to the waterfall that was here. Lorelei didn’t even know the plant Digimon could move so fast. The reasons she was so excited could be that this was an environment the plant could thrive in. They were around plants after all. Whatever the reason, Verte was ignoring their calls and leaving them behind as she dashed through the trees and bushes.
“Verte wait for us!” Rouge shouted from in the air, flying overhead to catch up. Lorelei and Noir were following close behind, taking a bit longer because of the trees and bushes in the way. Noir had to stop her a few times to go around a particular bush that was either poisonous or dangerous to cross through. They had already left off the main path and were now roaming aimlessly after their friend. Did Verte even know where she was going? “Verte!”
Noir rolled his eyes in annoyance as he guided his tamer away from another suspicious looking shrub that held sickly green flowers. “You are wasting your breath. She can’t hear us. The best thing we can do is catch up to her.” The Hawkmon grumbled at the statement but continued onwards after their companion.
Lorelei sighed in defeat. “Even if she can’t hear us, we have to keep trying…I hope she doesn’t run into any trouble while we’re out here.” The other two sighed as well but continued to give chase. It was not long before Rouge shouted down at them that their friend had stopped and was chatting with another group up ahead. So there was another tamer out here just like her? She would have guessed the humidity here would keep others away from the jungle climate. But then again, it wasn’t that bad out here and it was a beautiful place to visit.
The three stepped out of the bushes to find Verte chatting with another tamer and her Digimon. “You have a lot of explaining to do!” Leave it to Rouge to be the first to reprimand someone. Lorelei didn’t bother scolding the plant Digimon since Rouge had it covered. Plus Verte looked extremely cheerful and the words appeared to be going over her head.
So instead she focused her attention on the others. The girl appeared around her age and seemed nice. “I hope she did not cause you any trouble.” She glanced back towards her Digimon who were still talking amongst themselves except for Noir who was staring at the strangers. “My name is Lorelei and this is Noir, Verte, and Rouge.” She pointed to each individual Digimon as she spoke their name.

ICY_MOON As ordered, Farore backed away without complaint while Din reluctantly lowered her stance but continued to stare at the strange plant. Then the strange plant flower turned to us with a smile which was rather strange. The plant talked? I pursed my lips as I thought. It seemed friendly enough and Nayru did not appear distressed. Actually now that I glance to Nayru I noticed her ears twitching as if she was attempting to listen in on something nearby. I suppose I will not disturb her. I should answer the plant digimon thing. I do not believe that it would get aggressive. I should answer regardless of that. "Waterfall? Not at all I-"
I felt a vibration in the pocket of my shorts where I kept my D-terminal. It was unanticipated since I do not believe many had my number thus I elected to immediately check what notification I had gotten. Farore had taken it upon herself to talk to the plant digimon as I had. I pressed the button to stop the vibration from the D-terminal then brought the device into my sight, my eyes skimming over the text before my eyes. I attempted not to allow my annoyance from the text message be written over my expression but I felt my brows furrow lightly. I figured it was a good thing that I had not told my digimon of who we were meeting considering what they had messaged me.
Really? This girl had the nerve to call me out here and then ditch me? I felt a scoff clog my throat as I began typing a message back to the oblivion girl. If I did not know better than I would assume she was leaving me for dead however she did not appear to be the type. Thus I simply messaged back that she owed me for ditching me and put away my D-terminal. No matter I suppose. My digimon should not have noticed my dissatisfaction nor concern themselves with this and at least we could explore and-
My eyes jolted upwards as I heard the bushes rustled again. Suddenly two more digimon and a girl appeared, causing my previously furrowed brows to raise. Immediately one of the digimon began reprimanding the plant so it was safe to assume this plant thing belonged to the girl. I could not help but compare this all to Nayru reprimanding Din who usually did not listen. Perhaps somewhat similar to the other digimon in a different way. Nevertheless it was an amusing sight. At the appearance of the new digimon I saw that Din was attempting to move away from the corner of my eye. I knew it was likely due to Din's disinterest in other teams however she stayed nearby rather than attempting to dive away somewhere.
Farore kept out of the argument between the two other digimon however she watched intently between them. Nayru on the other hand was looking towards me as I redirected my attention to the other tamer. She appeared to be a good person and though I was unsure of what team she belonged to, I doubt it mattered at this rate. Thus I merely smiled to her and shook my head. "Not at all. I did not expect others to be out here so it was a nice surprise." As she introduced each digimon, I glanced to each of them and nodded as I attempted to connect the names. It was interesting how many different names were surfacing for digimon so far. "Nice to meet you. Call me Ava." I turned and motioned to my digimon in order from distance away from me. "And this Nayru, Farore, and the grump over there is Din." Din glared over at me as her name was called which I assume was because she did not accept it yet, however I know she'll come around. She has not scolded me for it. That aside I suppose I should start a conversation. "What are you doing in a place like this?"

roachmon appeared !!champion level virus insect black blast - roachmon launches a wave of black energy at the opponent capable of dealing heavy damage and eroding any natural material it comes in contact with.
electro shocker - electricity forms around roachmon's body before being shot forward in a beam of crippling energy.
gyral punch - roachmon charges forward with its fist in front of it, spinning and attempting to land a heavy-handed blow onto the enemy.
dream dust - after tossing about trash everywhere, a dark powder is shed from its red wings that, when inhaled, will cause an enemy to fall asleep or at least grow very drowsy.
junk throw - generating a large amount of junk items from its body, roachmon then hurls said items at the opponents with its arms.

COME WHAT MAY | She expected the humidity to keep many trainers away from this area of the Digital World. While it wasn’t that big of a deal before, she was starting to see just why people stayed away from the jungle. After running through the jungle after their excited companion, she felt the heat beginning to take effect on her. Resisting the urge to fan herself with her hand, she instead pulled her hair to the side to give the back of her neck some air. At least she wasn’t sweating…yet. The faster they found this waterfall, the faster they could cool off in this hot tropical forest. Maybe they could even go swimming if it was safe enough in the waters. Verte didn’t explain much about the place.
The girl looked surprised to see her here as well so it appeared she wasn’t the only one. “I didn’t expect to see anyone out here as well. I heard many stayed away from this place because of the humidity. But we decided to come because Verte wanted to.” She motioned towards the Aruraumon who had finished being lectured and had walked forward to stand near Lorelei. The plant Digimon waved towards the others in a friendly manner, happy to see others traveling around. Noir was eyeing Din with interest. The Digimon looked to be a loner and disinterested in their group conversation. Noir was debating whether or not to ask Din for a battle while they waited for their tamers to finish…whatever they were talking about. But from the way Din was avoiding having to socialize with them, she might not be interested. After lecturing his companion who obviously did not listen to a word he said, Rouge flew over and stood by Lorelei, staring at the group with interest.
Ava introduced herself and each of her Digimon and Lorelei nodded at each of them. She smiled when the tamer called the Gazimon a grump which the Digimon threw a glare at Ava. From what she could tell so far, the girl was nice and she had a sense of humor. Overall, she was not one of the hard asses that she had seen on the forums lately. “Well Verte mentioned something about a waterfall that was here so it might be a good place for sightseeing.” She did not notice the way her Digimon tensed when the trees shifted behind the girl and her Digimon. Instead she kept talking but her eyes drifted behind Ava to see what exactly was causing the plants to move. “Plus it’s so humid out here I thought we could take…” Her voice trailed off when the cause of the rustling appeared from the brush. “Holy-”
It was…really, really ugly. Lorelei and bugs never got along actually. Usually when she and her mother found a bug in their house, they would scream, run around in a panic before playing a game of rock, paper, scissors to see who would be taking a shoe to whack at the thing. Usually it ended up being her because she sucked at rock, paper, scissors. Then at times her mother would draw the “I’m your mother so listen to what I say” card and force her to go kill the bug. It was a long process to killing bugs and it would leave her traumatized towards the end. She should have been used to it by now. But when there was a giant cockroach walking around the jungle and can potentially harm you and your friends, it made it hard to get over how horrible the experiences are.
The thing was huge and she could smell something strange coming from it. It drifted around the area causing her to cover her nose in disgust. It took a lot for her not to throw up. Whatever this thing was, it looked strong and she knew they would have a fight on their hands if it decided to attack them. The large roach…thing glared at all of them before data appeared around its body taking the form of objects. It was a bunch of junk ranging from bicycles to car parts… she was confused but it didn’t matter. What did matter was the fact that it began to throw some of the stuff towards them at rapid speed. “Junk Throw!”
Lorelei ran as fast as she could to avoid the objects that were being thrown at them, stopping near the edge of the clearing so she wasn’t in the main battle area. She glanced around to see if the others were okay and noticed that her Digimon were beginning to retaliate back.
Noir first noticed the Roachmon when his tamer was distracted with talking to the team they had met. It was an ugly thing too but he could sense how strong it was from the moment it walked into the clearing. It had to be at least champion level. An eerie smirk appeared on his face at the possibility of a challenge. While he knew for a fact that with all of them here they would defeat the Roachmon, they had to be careful to avoid many of the attacks. No matter how ugly the thing was, it was still dangerous. “Bloody Howling!” Taking a deep breath, Noir unleashed a powerful screech that sent red pulses of energy towards the Roachmon who was still flinging junk at whoever was in its sight. The pulses hit which caused it to stagger slightly and cease its attack for a moment. “He’s open!” the Dracmon shouted towards the others for them to attack.
Rouge, seeing the chance to attack, took the feather off his head which began to glow with a white light. Now almost as hard as steel, Rouge aimed and threw it towards the Roachmon’s eyes in an attempt to blind it. “Beak Buzz Saw!” But despite its dizziness, the champion was able to dodge the attack by moving out of the way during a stumble. The feather flew back to Rouge who attached it back on his head with a frustrated sigh. Verte also took advantage of the opening and extended the vines on her hands to wrap around the arm of the champion to cease its struggling. “Hungry Hand!” The vines glowed as they began to drain energy from the champion and transferred to her.
Finally recovering from the screech that stunned it for a few moments, the Roachmon grabbed the vines and pulled hard enough to swing Verte to the side. Verte flew forwards before being thrown to the side with a pained cry. She rolled a few feet and stopped with a groan. While she wasn’t hurt too badly, it would be a pain if that happened again. “I’m okay!” She shouted cheerfully to Lorelei who was watching her with worry from afar. This was their first real battle where some of them could get seriously hurt. They would just have to focus and be prepared for whatever this thing had for them.
Electricity began to form around the Roachmon’s body as it charged for its next attack. Releasing a beam of electricity, it didn’t aim for anyone in particular, just attacking with beams in random directions. While it was good that it was not attacking anyone directly, it was troublesome because which directions the beams were going was hard to judge. Noir barely managed to dodge one of the beams that came a little too close for comfort. Rouge swooped in the air to avoid being shocked out of the sky, knowing the electricity and the impact with the ground will do a great amount of damage to him. Lorelei glanced to Ava to see if she was okay or if she had a plan on how to beat this thing.

ICY_MOON I listened to the girl explain her reasoning and I could not help but chuckle. It was a good line of thought and checking out the waterfall was likely not a bad idea because I was already here. Perhaps Kate wanted to find the thing too. "I see. I wish I could say the same for my digimon however they do not particularly enjoy these types of climates. If this was not a virtual reality game then I would not either." This was pleasant. This girl appeared rather nice and friendly. I would have continued to speak if it had not been for the pawing I felt upon my ankle. It began light and slow however it swiftly continued to a faster pace which was rather curious. I glanced down momentarily to see Nayru's large sapphire staring at me and awaiting acknowledgement to speak. "There is a foe near-" I did not hear what else Nayru said when I felt a pressure impact my left side. "Move!" I saw the world around me swirl before my eyes which was followed unexpectedly causing me to topple where I stood. I managed to hear the other tamer say something as well as I fell over and instinctively my muscles moved to cause my arm to move upward to brace for my fall. I could tell that I ended up skidding a short distance and while I attempted to recover, I turned my body to check what had pushed me however no amount of preparation could prepare me for this.
I felt my heartbeat pause and a lump in my throat rise as I beheld the horrendous sight. The mild burning pain on my arm and the dull aching of my side was nothing compared to facing this thing. I said nothing, refraining myself from screaming or groaning in any sort of pain. I cannot show my weakness so quickly. The pain was not real regardless so I suppose it is nothing I should concern myself with. Instead I shifted my free arm to my injured side and felt the warm fuzzy mass that was Din on top of me. I suppose she had sensed the disgusting beast and tackled me to protect me from whatever preemptive strike it was attempting. I looked up to see where Farore and Nayru went and I saw Farore in front of me creating a colored block wall to protect us. I much would rather see that rather than the roach.
"What are you doing? Get up." I heard Din order as she jumped off of me. It was only then that I realized my position and that I must have looked similar to a deer in headlights. The pain plagued me mildly however it was easily ignore-able as I got to my feet, pushing myself off the ground to do so. Immediately my eyes darted around to the other girl that was with me and saw she managed to get a good distance away. I suppose I should be too. I knew that Din most likely jumped straight into the battle as Nayru approached my side once again. As that occurred I heard the sound of metal impacting something quickly causing me to turn heel to see what it was, only to see Farore's wall disperse into data. Guess it took too much damage. "Nayru, what can you tell us. We need a plan." Farore stated as she looked back to the two of us. I saw Din behind her with her claws at the ready however I did not believe that it was a good idea to approach roaches head on.
Just as I thought this, I saw a barrage of attacks thrown at the roach monster to which I took the opportunity to run backwards away from the area of attack. Far be it for me to be in the way. Nayru followed suit as she was not the battle type however with Farore's prompting I highly doubted she was not thinking up a plan. That said I was rather thankful for the aide of the other tamer's digimon. I caught up next to the pink haired woman and casually waved with my right hand. "Thanks for the assist." Now let me see if I can return it. I disliked being in someone's debt. "Nayru, do you have anything?" From the corner of my eye I saw the plant thing being flung to the side to which Din apparently decided it was a good idea to prevent further damage by exhaling her Electric Stun Blast move, effectively cloaking the field in black smog. Enemies were supposed to become paralyzed from the smog too so hopefully that would slow down that mutant thing.
"Roachmon are Insectoid Digimon of Champion level that are of the Virus attribute. Vaccine digimon as well as fire or wind based attacks will be rather effective against this foe." Nayru was projecting rather loudly, I assume to allow the other digimon team to hear. That is something I suppose. I cannot say that I have any of those things however aside from Nayru. Think she's a vaccine type but it did not help if she was not a combat type of digimon. I think Nayru was able to distinguish my thoughts somehow and subsequently shook her head, her ears lowering which made me feel somewhat bad. Regardless Nayru persisted as if nothing was wrong. As I followed her gaze I saw Farore shooting a beam from her horn which I suppose was her Psyche Shot that flew into the smog and caused a flash to occur from within. Most likely hitting the thing. "Anything else?" I heard Farore ask as the two made eye contact, though Nayru was the first to relent with a sigh. I suppose this is one of those types Farore was getting out of her passive streak to help me.
"While their attack and defense capabilities are hardly anything impressive and leave something to be desired, their primary trait of interest is their stamina." Nayru paused as the flash of light erupted. Din had jumped out of the black haze and landed next to Farore on her hind legs just as a scatter of sparks flew from the smoke. That was not normal. "I advise against close quarter combat if not for that reason then for the plague it may be capable of spreading airborne." Yeah that might be something I wanted to avoid. I despised bugs enough as it is. Back in the real world roaches above all would creep me out however in this world who knows what abominations existed. Whatever. I could almost hear Din growl at this fact and that said I am sure that Nayru did as she looked as if she was hiding a smirk but that was beside the point.
Let me see. I usually did not give my Digimon orders since they knew better than me on these types of things however in essence all my digimon could do now was provide back up which was not Din's style. Maybe if there was something we could do. "Might as well attempt to slow it down to avoid that, right?" Nayru nodded, knowing what I was thinking somehow. That said Nayru stated that the stamina Roachmon had was significant so I doubted that Din's Venom Breath would be much effective seeing as it is a slow indirect form of poison. At this moment the small pup would turn to Lorelei and spoke. "Apply a direct poison and strike with long ranged attacks. Are your partners capable of doing such?"

COME WHAT MAY | Lorelei noticed Ava make her way over along with her Salamon when the Roachmon became confused. She was glad to see the other girl okay and smiled when she made her way next to her. She appeared to be alright so she was not too concerned. This was just a game after all and any damage taken was not real.
Glancing towards the field, she noticed that the one called Din had unleashed a cloud of black smoke that covered the entire field. It would be good since the champion was shooting powerful beams of electricity everywhere in an attempt to hit them. She turned back towards Salamon once it began to give information on whatever that thing was. As she listened, she thought about the information Nayru was telling them. None of her Digimon were Vaccine types nor did they have any fire based attacks. Her gaze traveled to look at Rouge who was flying overhead. While he did not have any wind based attacks, he did have feathers to attack with. But she was pretty sure that they were two different types of attacks. So no vaccines, no fire, and no wind. Her team would have a little trouble then during this battle. She hoped Ava had something in her team that might make the battle easier for them.
Lorelei’s eyes glanced down towards the Salamon who had lowered her ears when her tamer looked at her. It was a cute sight even though she knew the movement usually meant sadness or something along those lines. Guess they were in the same boat as them. Lorelei glanced over towards the battle to see how the others were faring. The Roachmon was aiming inside the cloud in an attempt to hit whoever was hiding inside. Verte and Noir had left the cloud of smoke to avoid the electrical attacks that were within. The two were standing off to the side but could hear what the Salamon was saying from where they stood. Rouge was still in the sky above the smog to stay clear of it. He was also listening to what the Salamon was saying and had an impressed look on his face. She guessed it was because the Digimon seemed to know a lot about their enemy and was book smart. The two had that in common.
Nayru continued on and began to explain that close combat was not a good idea against this thing. So it had toxins that could cause harm to them? This was worse than a cockroach. Could it fly? She didn’t want to think about that. For now, she was happy that it was on the ground and away from their group. It was stunned and confused at the moment which gave them enough time to come up with a strategy on how to beat the thing.
"So we're just slowing it down?" They could do that. If stamina was the problem, it would be good to take away the champion’s energy and weaken it. Nodding towards the Salamon, she glanced up when Rouge flew over to stand next to them. “Verte’s poison based attacks can handle one part of the strategy. If any of you have poison attacks as well, it will be good to combine attacks to make them more potent. If the gas is strong enough, it will give us the opportunity and opening to defeat Roachmon once and for all.”
“That sounds like a plan to me.” Lorelei chimed in and smiled down towards the Salamon. “You’re really good at this kind of thing.” Turning around, she called out to the plant Digimon. “You know what to do Verte!”
Verte, hearing what she had to do, ran forward and faced the champion Digimon. “I got it! Gloom Dust!” From the flower on her head appeared a purple dust cloud filled with poison gas. The smog was wide spread and floated towards the champion who had finally broken out of its confusion. It floated around the Roachmon who stumbled and cringed in pain as it inhaled the toxins. It was beginning to weaken but she was not sure if it was enough. If they continued to stun and poison it then everything will work out in the end right?
Noir was a little mad that he could not get up close and personal with Roachmon but he would go along with what the Salamon was saying. It made sense even though he was reluctant to admit it. Dark energy balls appeared in his hands and with a smirk, he began to juggle them swiftly. Then one by one, he threw them towards the Roachmon who managed to dodge most of orbs of dark matter. It then cried out when sharp feathers began to rain down from above. Looking up, the Roachmon frowned when he saw the Hawkmon above shooting down at it.
Angered at the barrage of attacks hitting it at once, the wings on its back suddenly sprouted out and it took off into the air straight at the Hawkmon. A jolt of fear went through Lorelei when the champion flew into the air straight for Rouge. She hated that she was right about that thing. Why did it have to fly? Now that just made the battle even more troublesome.
The champion grinned as it stopped a few feet above the bird Digimon and began to spin in a spiral downwards. Rouge saw the incoming attack and tried to dodge out of the way to avoid the powerful blow. Barely managing to dodge it in time, Rouge was still swiped by the blow which made him cry out in pain. The force and power behind it caused him to fall out of the sky and make a painful impact with the ground.
Lorelei cried out in fear when she saw her Digimon get knocked out of the sky. She was hoping that no one would get injured in this battle. She watched as the Roachmon flew down and landed in front of the struggling Hawkmon who was trying desperately to get up. Electrical shocks began to envelop its body as it prepared for another Electro Shocker attack from close range. Verte saw her companion was having trouble and unleashed Nemesis Vines in an attempt to slow down the attack for Rouge to get away. The Roachmon only flinched from the toxic vines but still charged his attack to finish off at least one of the opponents that was irritating it.

ICY_MOON All in all I would say that Nayru impressed the other team with her wisdom and strategies, both of which I was thankful that she had. Regardless the entire team agreed to follow what Nayru had said to which Nayru nodded. “You have my gratitude for your kind words.” I could tell that she was happy to be recognized by someone other than me and Farore. Regardless as the plan came together and was questioned momentarily, Nayru continued. “In essence we are. If we are able to slow it down and wear it out, it would make causing the killing blow a simpler task.” I released my breath as I looked to Din as the flying hawk was giving its own rundown of what their team would do. Fantastic. The mention of poison to amplify the plant’s poison seemed like a good idea. Din was still not too pleased with the results of our plan but she’ll deal with it. “You heard them Din. Combine your Venom Breath with their poison.” I called as I saw Din’s ruby eyes glance to me. Within seconds I heard the call of an attack as a purple spore cloud covered the area and while Din remained to look disgruntled she had turned and moved backwards to release her Venom Breath into the same purple cloud, making a brighter and more vibrant color violet.
Farore backed away from that smoke cloud as I was assured that this is a fairly potent poison, but she most likely did so out of self-protection rather than fear. Farore was not known to fear many things if anything. Regardless at this rate it almost felt like we really were trying to kill a persistent pest with fumes or something. I was not used to dealing with this sort of thing whatsoever. Whenever I encountered such pests I would call for a butler to deal with the thing. In retrospect I should have discovered how to do it myself but no matter. It appeared to be working. “Farore.” I called to get her to prepare an attack. She did not respond to me however and opted to twirl about in a dance that once again caused several colored blocks to appear. Rather than create a wall as usual however they all seemed to be thrown into the gaseous fumes as a projectile. My guess was that Farore directed the blocks to form a wall at the exact point that Roachmon was located. I also saw several dark orbs from the side and raining feathers fall down from the sky into the smoke cloud so I assumed that we were doing well for ourselves.
That said Din did not look as pleased. In fact she dashed to the side towards me which was rather shocking. I did not comprehend until I saw something shoot out from the purple cloud of poison gas. My eyes widened at the sight of the ugly thing taking to the sky and I swore I took a step back unintentionally. Why? I hated flying bugs. Just the sight of this one was causing a chill to run up my spine and my fingers to wrap into my palm to clench tightly into fists. This game must have a sick sense of humor. Nevertheless I saw it bringing its attention to the flying bird and immediately I saw Nayru spring to action from below me at my feet. I had looked down to Nayru to figure out what she was trying to do and completely missed what happened in the sky, but from the cry of pain I figured that the hawk was targeted and hit. My gaze moved upward to see the bird falling from the sky and the pink haired girl cried out for her digimon. For a moment I turned to her in wonder. Was she truly so concerned? This was merely a game after all. Then again I suppose it cannot be helped. I am unsure how I would react in the same circumstances though I do hope I would be able to retain my composure and reason as I am now.
The sound of rustling came soon and I knew it was because the bird was falling to the ground. I was actually quite surprised that based on Lorelei’s reaction that she did not attempt to run and assist her digimon. Regardless I have to focus on the battle at hand. I saw the roach was pursuing the digimon and I knew that Psychemon was too far to assist accurately as she would have to cut through the poison cloud to do so, if I could get the message to her on time. Din was watching and began to dash in the direction that Nayru had gone as well to what I could only guess was to assist in the battle. Speaking of Nayru where is she? As if responding to my thoughts I heard a high pitched scream that I could only assume had come from Nayru as it sounded vaguely familiar, the sound of it this time still deafening however I assume that it was worth it as she would not do that without reason. “We should go check on them.“ I stated to Lorelei. I still intended to stay out of harm’s way of course but I don’t know. I am worried for my digimon as well.
Nayru had known where the Hawkmon would land. The likelihood of that happening was rather large. Regardless despite how Nayru knew it was not an upfront battler she knew she could do something at this moment. Soon enough she had gotten to the site of where the Hawkmon had landed and the Roachmon flying down after him. From her distance she could see that Roachmon was attempting to finish the job. Vines came from somewhere to slow the roach down to the point that Nayru was able to think up a strategy but the roach appeared to brush them off with ease to continue. In a last effort to save her current ally she released a scream of her Puppy Howling. The effects of it caused the Roachmon to pause momentarily to turn to Nayru who was the source. That moment of hesitation was all that Nayru required as she had taken that moment of surprise to rush at the creature head first in a Sledge Dash. With the clear shot Nayru did not miss, tackling it directly in the abdomen and sending it staggering backwards and interrupting its attack. Afterwards she shook off any disgust she had or damage she might have taken to move on with her next course of action.
Nayru was not the one known for courage however she was valiant enough to use her calculating mind to protect an ally. In fact her allies were what made Nayru stronger. While her Sledge Dash likely caused a great amount of damage due to her vaccine typing, the force behind her using such a move also strengthened the technique. Regardless she did not stop to look over her work like perhaps Din might have and instead turned to the Hawkmon and attempted to help it get up. “Can you move Rouge?” She questioned this out of curiosity, using the name that the tamer from before provided earlier in an attempt to get the bird to respond rather than using the species name. Nayru knew taking a hit from a champion was dangerous for a rookie so she was determined to get out of there before the Roachmon recovered, even if the Roach’s attacks were subpar at best. In fact if the Hawkmon did not move in the next two seconds, Nayru was about to bite onto its wing and drag him away from this scene. As Nayru was doing all that, the Roachmon began to recover from the attack as it had staggered and landed on its back but was swiftly returned to its feet for round two. One that Nayru did not intend to stick around for.

COME WHAT MAY | It was just a game. She had to keep reminding herself of this fact as she watched the Roachmon close in on Rouge. She had played many games before with her dad. There were ones where you send your characters out to dangerous battles to defeat the villain that was doing something to destroy the world. Throughout the game, you grow attached to the characters and unknowingly grow to love them for their personality, skills, or whatever the game does to grab your attention on these characters. But in some games, one of the characters dies in battle or in some silly plot twist that can leave you stunned. The heart reaches out to the loss and you feel sad, angry, or helpless to stop it because it was written in the story to push it further along or character development for the other members in your party. But no matter what one’s reaction is to the loss, everyone knew that it was just a game in the end. The next day someone could be playing a new game and forget about what happened in the previous one. None of it was real. This was her first time in a virtual reality game. Everything still felt so real to her. She could feel her heart racing in her chest as she watched Rouge fall down to the ground and the Roachmon close in on him. She knew that Rouge would be okay even if he was “killed”. He would turn back into a digiegg and hatch again to work his way back up to his current state. No one could truly die in this game. She could walk over and take a direct punch from the Roachmon and “die”. The only thing that would happen to her is being sent straight back to the home server with her life points down by one. She did wonder if she would feel the full effect of the painful hit or if there was a limit to how much pain one could feel if they did happen to die in this world. But in the end, nothing horrible would happen to either her or her Digimon. Maybe slightly affected by the experience but okay in the long run. So Lorelei took a deep breath in and out to calm her nerves. Panicking and running towards the fight was not going to help them and she would only get in the way of the fight. Her eyes watched as vines dripping with toxin sprouted from under the Roachmon and wrapped around its frame in an attempt to stop it. Verte was doing her best to keep the champion back but it was determined to finish off at least one of its opponents. It continued to charge its next attack and was ready to fire it when something happened. Lorelei watched in surprise as the little Salamon had charged forward into the battle to help. She had thought the Salamon was going to stay back most of the fight. A deafening scream sounded through the area which caused her to wince. Whatever was happening, she knew the Digimon would handle it. From the noise, she almost did not hear what Ava was saying but managed to catch some of it. “Yeah let’s go. I’m sure it will be safer to get closer now.” She was also worried about Rouge as well. Most of the poisonous gas was gone now and she was sure that Rouge and Nayru would make their way back towards them once they got out of the line of fire. --- Rouge was in pain. Although he did not take a direct attack from the champion leveled Digimon, the swipe of the punch and the impact with the ground still left him stunned and injured. He knew the bug Digimon was closing in on him but he couldn’t move at the moment. His body protested any movement he happened to make. He could almost feel the electricity that was surrounding the large roach as it walked close to him. Struggling to move, Rouge tried desperately to get up but unable to at the time. He knew the others were trying to give him time to move out of the way but the Roachmon was determined. Closing his eyes to brace for the attack, his ears instead picked up a very high pitched scream. That wasn’t the attack he was waiting for. Opening one eye in pain, he was surprised to see the Digimon called Nayru jump up and tackle the champion head on and knock it over. He was surprised and stared in shock as the bug was sent toppling over and away from them. While the others took advantage of the moment of weakness, Nayru attempted to help him up and ask if he was okay. Honestly he was still hurting from the blow but he could manage to hop back to his tamer if need be. “I’ll be okay in ju-” But the two seconds were up and the Hawkmon felt a bite on his wing before he was dragged back to the tamers. “Ow ow ow ow…” he groaned in pain as he was dragged across the ground. Not only was he still hurt from the attack, he was also being bitten on wing and dragged across the ground. But it was for the best since Roachmon was beginning to get up again. Once the two appeared out of the main area of the battle, Lorelei ran forward to help Nayru get Rouge. “Hey are you okay?” She quickly asked after helping it up. Rouge grinned and turned towards Nayru with a look of gratitude. “It was a close call but thanks to Nayru, we managed to get out of there. Although the trip back was rather painful.” Lorelei shook her head with a smile, glad to see the Hawkmon would be just fine. She turned to Salamon with her own look of gratitude as well. “Thank you Nayru.”--- Verte sighed in relief when Rouge was saved by Salamon. Who knew what would happen if Rouge had taken a direct hit by the champion. She did not want to see anyone harmed in this fight. She hated fighting but if Roachmon wanted to harm her new friends then she would fight to stop it once and for all. She could see the toxin was beginning to affect it since its movements were slower and it was dodging less attacks from the other Digimon. It was time to end this once and for all. “Poison Ivy!” Vines once again came out of her hands and began to hit Roachmon mercilessly along with adding more poison to its body. In retaliation the Roachmon threw more junk towards them but its aim was off, throwing slower and half the distance as usual. At times, the junk did not even reach their target, stopping only a few feet away. “Nemesis Ivy!” More vines laced with toxin sprouted from the ground and wrapped themselves around the Roachmon again. “Finish him off!” She called to the others. --- Now that Rouge was out of danger, they could finish this thing off once and for all. Noir didn’t want to admit that he had been worried for his teammate’s safety. He had been too far away to be of any help and to keep the champion at bay. But now that the Hawkmon was out of the way and the champion was weakened from all the poison, it was time to go all out. Taking a deep breath, Noir once again let out a piercing scream to add to the deafening noise that the Salamon already did. It sounded throughout the area and crippled the Roachmon even more than it already did. As he did this, the dark orbs charged in his hands once again, crackling with energy. He wanted this thing to gone already. He didn’t want anyone else to be injured by this thing. Adding more energy than usual, the Dracmon juggled the orbs swiftly and began to throw each one by one. The attack made contact with the help of Verte holding the giant bug still. --- Each attack hit its mark and before long, the Digimon fell to the ground in defeat. It began to dissolve into data and ribbons, making a interesting display. Lorelei stared in amazement as each of the Digimon absorbed the data as it shot towards them. She had never seen anything like it. While it was a pretty sight, it felt like she was watching someone get devoured. Granted it was data, the fact that it was still…disturbing in a way. The fact that it was a giant roach didn’t help in the matter either. But whatever Before long, Noir jumped up and pumped one of his fists into the air with a cheer. “Aww yeah we kicked that thing’s digibutt!” He laughed loudly and gave a thumbs up to the others. While Verte was happy that they had finally defeated their enemy, she was still worried about Rouge. She practically ran over to where they were with teary eyes, asking hundreds of questions in one breath to the point where no one could understand what she was saying. Rouge waved his wing with a wince to show that everything was okay with him. He was just injured and wasn’t dying at the moment. “Thanks again.” He turned to Nayru with a nod. Lorelei figured her Digimon could handle themselves for a moment and turned tto look at Ava with a smile. “We make a pretty good team. Who knows what would have happened if we didn’t run into each other here.” It was true. She wasn’t sure if they could have handled the champion on their own. They had only battled in the arena where everything was easier and safer. This battle gave her a true insight into what to expect from the Digital World. They would have to be more careful from now on. “To think this all started with the search for the waterfall…Thanks for the help.” She nodded to Ava and her Digimon. “Maybe one day we can all come back together one day without the..you know…wild Digimon trying to kill us.”

ICY_MOON So we both agreed. I nodded and began moving towards where I saw Nayru and Din run off to, keeping a reasonable pace as to not blindly dash into danger. The heavy thick scent of flowers before had mellowed mildly as well as I glanced to the area of poison spores and mist. It appeared that the violet color became more translucent as well so I had no doubt that the poison effects would be toned down now. No matter. I am sure that Lorelei’s top concern was that hawk of hers and my own was the status of my digimon. In mid step from a lengthy distance I could see Nayru’s form, her large ears giving her away as she ran towards me. She appeared to be holding something in her mouth however and that alone made me curious. I squinted in an attempt to distinguish what the thing was that she felt the need to leave in the middle of battle to fetch it. As she grew closer however it became obvious that this was the hawk that had taken the midair attack from the roach previously, leaving me to question where the roach currently was.
Nayru stopped in front of both of us and released the digimon’s wing from her mouth, following with a light pant as I assume she dashed rather quickly. “My apologies for that, however it was necessary to get away.” I shook my head as lowered to my knees to get on better eye level with the pup. There are times I worry about my little pup and what trouble she jumps into to help allies. I am not entirely sure why Nayru went out of her way either but I trusted that she knew what she was doing. “Good job Nayru.” I announced this as I patted Nayru’s soft head, but her sapphire eyes were focused on the hawk I assume as she had not turned or acknowledged my praise. Perhaps she was too wrapped up in the current task at hand. According to the hawk it sounded as if Nayru had done rather well in whatever situation this was in. “Do not mention it. Once this is over it would be wise for you to return the city to heal your wounds.” This is sounding rather strange but I ignored it. No reason to put too much thought into it.
I heard indistinct fighting in my background and glanced over periodically in an attempt to piece together what is going on. I believe I heard Din’s claws periodically to attack but aside from that it was mainly the teamwork of Lorelei’s own Digimon that did the trick. Nevertheless I stood back to my feet and as I had a stream of blue data had come from behind me to be absorbed by Nayru and the Hawk thing. I blinked and shook my head as I came to the realization and come to terms with some of the aspects of this virtual world. This was data so to speak or however Nayru explained it and they were absorbing it to increase their own knowledge pool. In other words experience. Once that process was completed the first thing I saw was the green plant digimon sweeping past me and towards the injured partner digimon, the sight of which caused me to produce a chuckle. If only my own digimon would care so much as to shed tears. Nayru on the other hand had backed away and began to paw at my ankle to signal for me to pick her up into my arms which I obliged, picking her up and holding her warm fuzzy form in a cradle of my arm. She deserved it. The pup nuzzled into my arms to get comfortable and as I looked up from where she was I saw Din and Farore slowly but surely returning to my side. Din appeared neutrally satisfied with the events that unfolded and Farore indifferent as always. “Glad to be of service.” I suppose I was lucky that Nayru was not flaunting anything around. Now that I am holding her though I believe there is peculiar stench coming from her fur. What had she done in this short time?
In my moment of thought I had almost missed Lorelei speaking to me, my attention turning directly to the pink haired tamer. Her comment caused a smile to slip upon my face as well. “Is that so? I felt like your digimon were doing all the work and that you would have been fine.” I stated honestly. My digimon truly did not do much in retrospect. They became support more than anything which was amusing when it came to Din’s side of things. Din on the other hand sneered as I made that statement from the corner of my eye to which I shook my head. She never changed. If it had only been me however I believe I would have likely lost my wits as I can personally not stand the hideous thing alone. “There is a thought. I would welcome the chance to travel with you once you have taken care of your digimons’ injuries.” I took my right hand and slipped it into the pockets of my shorts to produce my D-terminal. In actuality I should have most likely asked for the girl’s affiliation however after that battle and how well we worked together I doubted that it was necessary. After all I am technically friends with the Kate girl in oblivion even if it was for my own personal reasons. "You guys should go on back to the city before something else comes." I nodded. I believe Din wished to explore a tad more thus I decided that we may as well keep in contact. “How about we exchange D-terminal numbers? That way we can keep in touch. My number is 4242.” I felt Farore's gaze upon my form and simply ignored it. Perhaps she thought that Lorelei was indeed the one I arranged to meet previously however after all that has happened I believe I was in the clear on who I was meeting previously with my digimon. For now I will not worry on it.

COME WHAT MAY | Lorelei shook her head at the girl’s modesty. If they had not been there, their injuries could have been a lot worse. They might have even fled and be chased through the jungle by a giant roach, something that almost caused her to shudder. In addition, Rouge would not even be here at the moment if it was not for Nayru rushing in and saving him. There were many what ifs and possibilities that could have happened but she was just glad she ran into Ava when she did. “You and your Digimon helped a lot during the battle. It would have been harder without you guys here.”
She liked the idea of them all meeting up and traveling together once again. But for now, she needed to focus on getting Rouge back to the home server to rest up. Everyone else looked a little tired as well so they would have to leave their adventuring for another day. While she was a little disappointed that they did not find the waterfall after all, they still met a new friend which was not all bad. Technically it was thanks to Verte for running off in excitement to find the waterfall that they met Ava and her Digimon. So far she had only met about three others here and the more friends the better.
The Psychemon, Faorse if she remembered correctly, suggested that they should head back to the city before another champion decided to show its face. It was a good idea and it was surprisingly met with no complaints. She was amazed that even Noir did not complain about heading back. Usually he would be the one to say that they were fine and they could keep going if they wanted to. It showed that even hotheaded ones like Noir could get tired. “Yeah, we should leave before another one of those things decide to fly in.” She really needed to stop thinking about that thing. It was just going to give her nightmares.
Ava pulled out her D-Terminal and suggested that they should exchange numbers. “I would love that.” Lorelei reached into her own pocket and took out her D-terminal and began to type in Ava’s number. “Mine is 5712. Contact me if you need anything or if you just want to hang out.” After she was done, she placed it back into her pocket before bending down to lift Rouge up into her arms. The bird winced at the movement but seemed relieved he did not have to fly back to the gate. “Well we’ll be going now. It was nice to meet you all.” And with that, the four of them turned and headed in the direction of the portal that would take them back to the city.
