Losing my Light Kei pulled his jacket up to his mouth, he'd opted to grab the coat in particular with a loose hood. why? He couldn't remember in the slightest. What he did know was the he regretted it. Why in god's name had he chosen the coldest, iciest place in this entire world to search for a flag anyways? Wait a better question why hadn't he grabbed a suitable jacket for the venture? He cursed silently to himself. A server event was going on; why there was an event for a bunch of beta testers he had no earthly idea were they trying to test out some event settings for the entire game perhaps that 'no digivolution' rule was one of said settings. Kind of a shame seeing as Ven just got his first one after a fight with a kid he'd met twice over. A kid who had the audacity to think he mattered in a world where 7 billion 46 people existed. He couldn't tell if he was just fronting or that was how he really thought. Then again Kei really didn't understand other people too well in the first place, maybe it was because he was one of the few who accepted that out of that 7 billion he didn't matter. He was just a guy trying to make it through to the end of the day and maybe find a little bit of joy in between somewhere, and even that was difficult with all the shit that came between him and the day's end. Speaking of him not being able to really understand people here he was at a point of beginnings where people usually met up before they were to trek up this god forsaken digital mountain because apparently in this event it was impossible to go and grab a flag alone. No, you needed to have a partner with you. He'd chosen team Oblivion for that specific reason. He wasn't interested in teaming up with other people he just wanted to play the game by his lonesome, well at least for the most part. He couldn't play without the three digimon behind him each one doing their own thing for the moment trying to find ways to pass the time while they waited for this tamer to show up, what was their username again? Aviator or something? he remembered it sounding cool at least. The tamer slid his hands into his pockets he wondered what the girl he met only days ago was up to, Ava. He definitely had her number in his D-terminal saved he could text her right now if he wanted... No, he'd been avoiding her for good reason. She had a tendency to unknowingly cloud his judgement and although he liked her, he became someone he wasn't when he was with her and if his life had taught him anything this far in it was that situations like that eventually led to trouble. "Whatever." Indeed, now wasn't the time to think about this it was time to wait for Aviator patiently and calmly. He could reflect when he was back at his 'base' the game forced him to create upon entering for the first time. Truth be told he'd begun to like, or at least appreciate his little bubble of personal space in the expansive MMO. He found it comfortable, a place to really immerse himself in his thoughts. A place that wasn't a frozen wasteland and a place he didn't have to worry about wearing warm enough coats specifically those with hoods on them. He'd glance at his Digimon Xia seemed to be enjoying the snow he couldn't help but wonder if she was cold, if so she wasn't showing it. Kei shrugged as she rolled around in the iced water a little more. Aeon looked at the digimon disapprovingly like a father would look at a daughter whilst she acted foolish in public, the digimon would then break character entirely and look away realizing he really just didn't give a third of a damn before walking a bit ahead to scout. Kei'd meet up with the digimon in a moment or two as long as he didn't wander off too far. Ven also was doing his own thing. Lately the digimon had been less energetic it'd been that way since their last fight. Kei couldn't tell if he was annoyed by the fact that his strength just wasn't enough, or simply because his feelings weren't reciprocated by that digimon. The tamer had no clue he figured he understood digimon about as well as he understood other people. He just hoped the blue dragon would be in fighting condition if or rather when the time came. 785 Shiki Ritsuka@ tag |

Shiki pulled up her hood, the sharp wind tugging at her scarf and sending it fluttering back in the breeze. The bite of ice and snow meant little to her; she had prepared herself in advance for it. Her team and she herself were clothed appropriately to battle the cold.In the case of the event, well, it certainly seemed an odd thing. Beta Testers were made to test portions of the game, so why was it that the creators of said game were allowing an event such as this? Was it to test the capabilities of the players? Test the workings of the areas of the Digital World? ... It was definitely something to ponder on. However, such trivial questions would get no answers, especially since the creators of Crosswire were not available to ask such questions to. Besides, the current zone that she was in would possibly make it easier to find the flag. Hopefully, it would stick out like a sore thumb from all of this surrounding white.A thought came bubbling up to the surface of Shiki's mind, for a time; what if this was a ploy to get players to become friends or rivals? An odd query, but, it stuck, briefly. That was until her group of three began to make their presence known.Being that the trio had been here before, they had already come fully prepared in their own borrowed forms of clothing. Songbird had, once again, donned a jumper, whilst Elizabeth had a similar scarf to the one that she had ventured out in previously. Being that Booker had a mess of curly thick fur, the cold weather didn't really bother him that much. He was content to loan the warmth from the safety of Shiki's hood (well, if it wasn't for the fact that it was securely wrapped around her head at that point in time), if he began to feel the chill.Elizabeth had tutted and muttered something to herself, as Booker leaped forward, his little wings beating repeatedly at the air in an attempt to keep himself aloft for a brief set of time. Songbird was edging closer to his Tamer, his wings wrapped about his chest in an effort to keep the warmth in. "Is it truly worth the trek out here to participate in this flag race?" Elizabeth asked with a disdainful sniff. "This wasteland of snow and ice is a deadly thing. Who knows what we might encounter out here? Besides, what of that Stealth partner you chose to meet up with here? Who knows, he might try to double-cross us."
"He's on the same team as us, Liz," Booker replied with a roll of his eyes. "I doubt he's gonna' be lookin' to bump us off, when we're there to actually help him."
"As you say," Elizabeth responded with an upturned beak. "But it is never a given to trust someone at first sight. I thought you would know about that, Booker... But then again, a lot goes past your head, doesn't it?"
Booker turned around with a snarl. "Say that again, Beak-face!"
"Stop the childish bickering," Shiki spoke up, eyeing them both coldly. "There's nothing to gain from it."
The two mumbled an apology, their heads lowering. Though, as Booker turned away once more, Elizabeth shot him a smug smirk. He scowled at her, but left it. The fight could wait til later...
Soon, a tall figure came into view, surrounded by a couple of smaller silhouettes. It didn't take Shiki long to realize who they were; changing her path, she went up to greet him - her Digimon following behind her carefully. "Stealth, I presume?" she asked, nodding once in her own recreation of a greeting.TAG Kei Makoto CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GS

Losing my Light "Aviator right?" Kei spoke up. Xia heard the two not too far off and it sounded like arguing to her but the digimon wouldn't mention anything other than the fact that someone was close. Kei relaxed when the female called him by his screen. Running into anyone else randomly in a place as harsh as this would have most likely meant a battle of sorts. Not to say that was too much of a problem, he and his digimon could use a bit more experience. Regardless that wasn't the case and the meet up had gone as planned. He shoved his hands deeper into his pockets. He had gloves on but his wrists were frigid. If he wasn't so rude or if it wasn't so cold, he'd have offered a handshake or something of the like. Who knew? Maybe he would once they made some headway in this flag search. "Let's keep the introductions brief. We have a long way to go I assume." He'd glance at his two digimon, a sign for them to step up. "The lion is Xia, the dragon is Ven. I have a third but he's a little further ahead. We'll meet him in a couple of minutes I assume. For all intents and purposes you can just call me Stealth alright?" His voice and expression were both neutral. If Aviator or so she called herself had anything to say, introductions or whatever else have you, he'd hear her out. "Oh yeah,” he'd pull out his D-Power and quickly scan the three digimon behind the girl, reading their summaries on his Digivice. It wasn't the kindest method of getting a bit of information on her digimon, but it was the fastest and most straight forward. "You're welcome to do the same, I just wanted a quick summary to know what we're working with before we continue on if that makes sense and that's just the fastest way. I don't mean anything by it."Kei paused "I have to say you've pretty aptly named yourself." As the male tamer spoke he'd begin the hike. From this point on he didn't want to stop. It was a quick simple mission. Get the flag, get out. Maybe afterwards grab some coffee, hot chocolate, or something of the like, the point of it being to warm up after all of this was over. Even in this terrible weather he was still pretty amazed by the general detail of the game or this area in particular. Kei definitely felt like he was freezing, that much was for certain as he trudged through the wind. Kei had no interest in conversation as they walked, about 5 or so minutes into the hike Kei turned to the girl, " Hold on, you might wanna cover your ears." Kei stuck two fingers in his mouth before blowing as hard as he could creating a mighty whistle one that flew through the trees. In moments shuffling could be heard from a patch of trees to his right. Out came a black dinosaur who seemed rather annoyed at the call. "What do you want." The tamer didn't point, but he did gesture towards the girl behind him slightly. "We're all here and ready to move on." The digimon looked the heavily dressed tamer down before turning back to his own tamer, ready to continue on as well. "Sorry for the holdup. He's my third digimon, Aeon." He'd call back to her however just as he began to step forward from the trees a second beast leapt out landing directly in front of the group unleashing a devastating howl. Another rather popular digimon had appeared before them. He didn't need his digivice to identify this one. “Wonderful, Garurumon. Just what I didn't want to deal with. It was my whistle that brought him here so I'll handle it."The three of his digimon stepped up waiting for a game plan of sorts. These circumstances weren't favorable, they were in the digimon's home turf and these battle conditions were prime for the white wolf digimon. Kei closed his eyes for a moment, coming up with a quick plan as the opposing digimon analyzed the group of three as a whole. "Alright Aeon, you're on ranged duty. Ven, distract it and keep it at bay. Xia, come in from the trees and take it down."Kei didn't think about including his partner as this wasn't her fault. He was to blame for the mess and he'd clean it up, that was how Kei worked out his problems. His digimon all took their positions with any luck this wouldn't be too difficult. Aeon was the first to attack calling forth two fireballs from the pits of his stomach to disarm the digimon. The black fireballs flew forth at high speeds aimed directly at the garurumon. The white wolf digimon scoffed, unleashing the infamous 'Howling Blaster'. Aeon's flames dissipated immediately after having come in contact with the ice blue flare Garurumon released. Although his initial attack wasn't successful this was more than enough time for Ven to sneak an attack or two in, slamming the ice wolf from behind with his Boom-Boom Punch. The sneak attack did more damage than the blue digimon expected, maybe his attacks had gotten a bit stronger after all those battles they'd been fighting. The wolf yelped before turning towards Ven, obviously aggravated. Who wouldn't be after having had their rear brutalized by a double fist barrage? However the garurumon began to prepare his next attack, allowing his fangs to glow a light blue and crouching into a position to leap at his prey. Xia dropped on the digimon from above lodging her teeth in the torso of the ice beast. It was her strongest move, 'Critical Bite.' The attack forced Xia to analyze the opponent’s body before delivering an extremely powerful bite to the opponent’s weakest point. While Ven and Aeon were busy distracting the beast, Xia had climbed a nearby tree try analyzing the movement of the beast digimon from above before finally finding the perfect moment to strike. As the attack connected, the blue wolf yelped having taken a powerful hit however he wasn't quite done yet. The digimon began preparing another stream of blue fire but the real question was how would Kei get out of it? 1061 Shiki Ritsuka @ tag |

Shiki nodded once, her gaze drifting to fix on each Digimon in turn, as their names were mentioned. A second nod came as an answer to Stealth's question and she lightly gestured to her team; seeing as the man had given his own pack an introduction, she thought it best to call out her own. "This is Elizabeth, the koala is Booker and the one trailing behind them is Songbird." He himself had yet to reach the top of the slope, and the instant he did he fumbled a little with the ends of his scarf. "A pleasure to meet you all," he piped up, dipping his head graciously. The others remained silent, too engaged in the mood of the moment; Booker could almost taste the battles that may be awaiting them ahead. This was an event, yes, but one on which their mettle was tested.
"That is fine," Shiki replied, taking little offense from Stealth's thought to scan her team on his D-terminal. "It will make it easier for us in the long run." After all, the quicker they knew of the opposite team's Digimon and their abilities, the likelier it was for them to gain the upper-hand if it came to conflict. She too took out her D-terminal, directing it at Stealth's pair. As soon as the scan was complete, it was away once more.
As her ally began the climb, she accompanied him, nodding at his statement. "Thanks. It took some time to think up. I take it was the same for you?" As the wind caught up once more, Shiki found herself thinking of how it might have been if she had not prepared herself in advance for the cold. ... She was definitely glad that she had thought to don such clothes, even if it was a game, it didn't make it any less chilly.
Five minutes into the trek and Stealth came to a stop. She gave a half-shrug, uncaring about the noise. Even as it rang shrilly through her ears. Songbird and Elizabeth, however, had quickly done as asked, with Booker following shortly afterwards. He winced, the sharp whistle louder to him, due to his acute hearing, and was relieved when the Tamer stopped. If he'd gone on for much longer Booker would've had to nab Songbird's scarf in order to drown out the noise.
Not long after the BlackGuilmon had stepped into view, Shiki had added his data to the D-terminal archive. As she put it back away, she gazed back at the dinosaur, coolly waiting through the few moments it took for them to continue on. Just as Stealth moved forward, however, a great wolf-like beast leaped out at them, emitting an unearthly howl.
Still unused to the many varying types and species of Digimon, as she was, the name of this particular monster flew forwards in her mind around the same time it was echoed aloud by Stealth. Booker growled audibly as the adolescent told his Tamer that he and his team alone would handle it. It didn't matter if that Garurumon had been called up by accident by him or not! A fight was a fight. However, Shiki remained where she was as her partner issued his Digimon the battle coordinates. Booker, unused to such a show of acceptance from his Tamer, edged closer to her. "What're you doin', Shi'? We should be arrangin' that Garuru's funeral too!"
What're you doin', Shi'? We should be arrangin' that Garuru's funeral too!""Let him be," Shiki replied quietly. "Such a fight should be taken into his own hands." Her expression was as neutral as ever, and as Booker studied her face, he came to the conclusion that her words were set in stone. "Fine, but if somethin' comes up, I'm gonna' be rushin' on in there whether you want me to or not." With that, he left her be, gaze slowly drifting to the fight at hand. It seemed to be going in the favor of their partner's pack. Although, the Garurumon was vicious enough with its retaliations to either rip away the could-have-been technique against it, or dealing damage for itself.
Booker was in a grump, whereas Elizabeth and Songbird were patient enough to wait.
When the flames of blue began to huff out from the wolf's maw, Shiki indicated for Songbird to make his move; a subtle slice at the air, one of a variation of gestures that the group. as a whole, had been practicing in their spare time. The Biyomon hopped forwards and then dashed towards the canine, leaping up into a spin, which became progressively faster, until a minute hurricane was produced. Releasing it, it swung toward the Garurumon smashing against his side and sending it reeling back a couple of steps.
At Booker's questioning look Shiki explained, "It is his fight, but it doesn't mean that I won't be there to back him up."
"That shoulda' been me, up there fightin' it," Booker grumbled, facing away.

Losing my Light mhm Death was staring him in the eye. His digimon were still recovering from the fatigue of their previous attack. No matter how hard he thought he couldn't think of a way to get all three of the digimon out safely. He could sacrifice one of them to save the rest, but Kei could never do such a thing. Sacrificing one of his own so he could survive… nah he definitely wasn't about that life. He'd been overconfident after that first round of attacks. He hadn't planned ahead far enough and now not only he but his whole team would suffer because of it. "Damn." One the upside he'd have one of the answers he'd been most curious about since starting the game, was death in the game as painful as it would be in real life? Seeing as the blue inferno was about run through him like a broke as college student ran through a home cooked meal, the flames raging in the blue wolf's mouth, all that was left was to brace for the impact. Not to mention his partner behind him, hopefully she'd be able to make it out of this alright. Maybe it was better this way, after all if he couldn't handle this basic obstacle how could they have even hoped to make it farther through the mountain? As he braced himself for the flames, surprisingly they didn't come, instead a spiraling hurricane had slammed in the beast's side thankfully. He turned to his partner nonchalantly with a neutral look on his face, he'd thank her a little bit later, but now it was time for him to finish this. "We have a second chance, attack the torso and don't screw it up." Kei stood tall as his digimon rose off the ground. The ice wolf was still recoiling from the painful gust of wind to its side only a moment ago. Ven was the first to attack this time around, dashing directly at the digimon semi-flanking it. He didn't have a lot of time so he sped up. He wanted to attack the digimon while it still didn't have his wits about him. Thankfully he was just fast enough to keep the digimon winded, slamming his head into the ice wolf's right side. If one was listening hard enough they might have actually heard a bone shatter. For those who weren't listening as in depth as the others they wouldn't miss the blood curling scream the digimon let out from the pain. The hit was strong enough to knock the digimon flat on its side and sliding through the snow. It was Xia's turn to strike her claws once again glowing brightly ready to maul whatever stood in her way. The lionness digimon using the side of a tree as a catapult bounced off aiming her body directly at the fallen digimon sinking two sets of claws into its body upon landing. Another painful sounding screeched escaped the wolf's mouth; sadly it wouldn't last long as Aeon, the one most annoyed at having been caught in a trap would silence it for good. As Xia removed herself from the ice digimon's body Aeon strode up having no intention of hiding himself at all. He looked down at the fallen digimon angrily. The fact that he would have been taken down by his flames ago certainly didn't please him, but the fact Kei himself would have been caught and killed in the attack, that was what angered him the most. His eyes seemed murderous as they watched the wolf struggle, there would be no mercy. Kei himself turned away from the next part. Aeon's claws began to glow with ominous black flames. He then slammed fist after fist into the digimon's body relentlessly the digimon was getting hit too fast to even scream until finally nothing but bits and pieces of data remained, those fading away rather quickly as well. The threat had been taken down and pretty viciously at that. Kei turned to his partner for a moment, his eyes and general expression still as neutral as could be. "Thanks for the save, I won’t leave myself open like that again." He'd nod at her sliding his D-Power back in his pocket and deciding to keep both hands there as well. "Let’s get a move on. I wasted a lot of time." With that his digimon would regroup all of them looking slightly worse for wear but more than ready to continue on up the mountain. 757 (Sorry for the wait!)
