Capture the flag, the big headline it seemed. He had heard of this event, and he had even found a partner for it. On the forum his partner went by the name of Game_Changer, an unoriginal name though one could therefore presume that his skills did not lie in finding creative names, but in fact on being good at the game. Gordon presumed that to be the case, but knew nothing for a fact. He had not spoken to this person beyond agreeing on a location where they could meet up and begin.
Gordon now waited for his partner at one of the many idyllic lakes that could be found within the forest. It was really hard to believe that this place could prove to be of any danger to anyone but the rookies of Noobs, but a little voice in his head told him that there was more to this event than met the eye and he was probably correct in that assumption.
Gizamon had decided to go for a swim while they waited. It had been a while since he had been able to just swim around in a not-combat related situation. It was actually kind of nice just being able to do this. With a kick of his strong frog like legs he could be on his way, it almost felt like freedom when he moved through the waters. It was beautiful if he had to say so himself.
Crabmon on the other hand simply sat in an almost meditative trance at the shore of the lake. His legs and lower body in the water while the upper body stayed dry. He looked almost peaceful as he sat there, Gordon noticed. Gordon smiled he sat up against a tree, the trunk of the tree provided good back support. He smiled and looked up Keramon had taken a seat on-top one of the branches above, giving him a good view. Keramon was singing a certain song that actually sounded as if it should be song within the walls of a church. Gordon didn't like the song, it sounded rather eerie and it was most certainly not a good sign, but he’d rather have Keramon singing than continuously asking, ‘is your partner here yet’ so he stayed content with what he got from Keramon right now.
“I wonder why he is taking so long…” Gordon mumbled he had been waiting for a bit, but then again he was here rather early, so maybe it was just him that were off. Without thinking any further about it, he retrieved his D-Arc Digivice and began to look up the information regarding the Digimon he had seen. There was the IceDevimon, a though Digimon indeed but it was dealt with. Then there were Lorelei’s Digimon, they were a funny bunch too. It all seemed as if there were so many different Digimon around this world. He wondered just how many there was. With that in mind he kept on searching through his Digivice. | Word Count: 501 Summary: Gordon is waiting for his Capture the Flag partner. He looks at his Digivice while waiting, his Digimon are doing other more fun stuff. Keramon is singing a weird song. |

Hikaru stepped through Chip Forest's light underbrush searching for his partner signed up with him in a game of Capture the Flag. His sneakers crunched against some dead leaves in the lush forest along a small path he was traveling and as they did he was still quite surprised how everything he touched was made from data. These leaves his feet stepped on were crushed into data due to the kind of force he put on them. It was an important matter because this was Hikaru's first time in the Digital World of Cross Wire and he did not know its parameters at all.
He picked up his sneaker and as he did the bits of data still left on the ground floated off. They were useless bits of data so he let it be as he pondered under his breath, "Am I even sure I went the right way, er, maybe I have." He gripped his spiky blond hair with his nervous fingers and ran his hands through it trying to remember if he had set an appropriate meeting place somewhere within the forest. His partner Stranger, an odd name at that, had asked, "Anywhere in particular you'd prefer to meet up and capture these flags?" Yet Hikaru had not followed up with a rather unspecific place. Chip Forest was big; far too big to navigate in a day by foot.
He raised his head up to the heavens gazed at the green branches above him with his his blue eyes as he pulled his D-Arc out of his pocket of his dark blue jacket for comfort and shouted, "Why didn't I give Stranger more specifics about our meeting place here in Chip Forest!" To a passerby or an onlooker, it would seem like yet another player had gotten lost in the forest, but in actuality it was a slightly genius plan. Since Hikaru was not 100% sure what Stranger looked like there was one way he could possibly call him. By shouting his special BBS name out on the server he could get his attention and hopefully get him running towards him. The only risk would be that everyone would hear him, humans and Digimon included and come running in his direction.
He lowered his head back down as he searched the pockets of his dark blue jeans with his hands, yet did not find any. He sighed and decided the best he could do was wait and hope the guy managed to find him. He did not want to materialize all his Digimon at once in the forest since that would be showing all his cards, but he figured while he waited he would need at least one to keep an eye on things. He took his Digivice in hand and allowed it to materialize a small green worm known to most by its Species name as Wormmon, but to him as Webby. She was cutey who had a rather large mandible, six insect legs, and a tail that looked like it had two purple spikes on it. She had lovely green antennae too as all insect Digimon almost all insect Digimon of her species probably had.
"Looking down at her," Hikaru bent down on one knee and said, "Um, I hate to tell you this Webby and all, but we're lost after I said we'd go and find that guy named Stranger. You know, the kid with nice black hair we got a look at on the internet." Webby's eyes half closed in disgust and hatred towards her new tamer. She was quite worried about their predicament and had been worried about it all day since she had a feeling they would get lost.
Climbing up Hikaru's knee and onto his head she stated as she nestled into his blond hair, "Just sit tight and wait. We'll probably find him soon, or rather he will find us." Webby insisted as she leaned her large head over the top of Hikaru's forehead and let it droop down with her long antennae. This was going to be a long day, but Hikaru standing up once more jostled her slightly from her position.
"You don't need to tell me that..." Hikaru muttered. "Now do you know this forest or not." Webby shook her head no and that ended the matter of trying to continue forward. This Stranger guy would most certainly have to find them before their game.
Word Count: 739 Summary: Hikaru enters Chip Forest but gets lost somewhere near Stranger i.e. Gordon. Hikaru then shouts his head off hoping to attract him towards his location, even if it is at the cost of attracting other Digimon. Hikaru then brings his trusted Wormmon Webby out of her Digivice in order to see if she might be able to keep an eye on things in the forest and/or lead them in the right direction. She simply climbs onto his head though and it ends up that she does not know her way through the forest either.

Gordon had been rather lost in his own thoughts as he was checking the data of all the Digimon that he had met. Not once did the thought hit him that his partner could be lost. Not once. Time went by and Gizamon was starting to become restless, he came to the surface and looked over at Gordon more and more, as if he was looking for some kind of reaction, but Gordon gave him none.
Gizamon sighed and dived for five more minutes before he could take it no longer and made his way up onto the shore and on his four legs he moved quickly over to Gordon and said. “Your partner is supposed to have been here by now, maybe he is lost.” Gizamon spoke logically.
Gordon nodded and said. “I suppose you are right. Maybe we should start looking.” Gordon looked up at Keramon. “Kira, I need you to fire a Bug blaster shot up into the air, make it as loud and flashy as you can.” Gordon got up on his legs and started to look around. “We’ll search in this direction first – “He pointed forwards as he continued to speak. “If we haven’t met them within twenty minutes we will return to this location, if they are in the forest they will be sure to see the Bug Blaster and move towards it.” Gordon said, Gizamon nodded though a bit half-heartedly it seemed to be a rather improvised and not very thought through plan.
Keramon finished listening to Gordon’s explanation and formed a glowing green and yellow ball of energy in his mouth and then shoot it straight up into the air. It flew with the impact of a speeding train and reached quite high before it exploded in a loud bang with flashy colors. “Well done, Kira.” Gordon said “Let’s go, Crawler come here!” Gordon signaled for all his Digimon to follow him and they did. They walked briskly in the direction of his choice. The lush green environment gave them much difficulty getting their bearing but with a little luck Gordon was right in his decision of taking this direction.
Gordon suddenly stopped after ten minutes brisk walking. A thought had crossed his mind, if there was any dangerous Digimon then they would have seen the blast as well, possibly putting his partner at risk. Gordon damned his mind for only thinking of that now, after it was done. He reminded himself that there was nothing that he could do now he could only move forward, so he did. The trees kept trying to fool him with directions, at each fallen dead trunk he had to jump over, his sense of direction got a little bit worse as if left and right up and down were the only directions that were stable, north, south, east, west, these were all direction that he could not tell.
But then something happened, a miracle of all things. In the Digital-world there was little possibility for coincidences, so the fact someone was yelling his name within a sentences regarding a meeting place within this forest was an invaluable tip. The direction from which the sound originated was easily found and Gordon was once again on his faster and merrier way. It took him less than five minutes to find the place where the person that had yelled his name was standing.
With a smile he made himself known to the person by saying. “Hey, I presume you are GAME_Changer?” He spoke the guys BBS name, since he had no other way of identifying the person besides a general appearance. Gordon’s Digimon quickly caught up to him and noticed the other human being. Gizamon grumbled a bit, he had almost hoped not to find the person, even though he had been the first to show concern for his lack of arriving on time. Keramon clapped enthusiastically and smiled at the person, while Crabmon just smiled and waved kindly. | Word Count: 661 Summary: Keramon sends explosion into the air, Gordon starts looking for his partner, and finds him. All is good. |

For what seemed like the longest time, Hikaru and Webby stood around doing absolutely nothing in Chip Forest wondering where their partner for capture the flag was. The reason was neither was sure how to proceed. They had shouted their online contact's name, but nothing had yet to happen until a yellow-green sphere floated up into the air high above the trees and exploded into a series of bright colors. The sphere of light did not scare Hikaru because he was brave and ready for anything, or at least that's what he thought. The only problem was that he had brought out the worst Digimon for this situation.
Webby did not like being in situations where they had to wait and did not like sudden flashes of light going off like the one the exploding in the sky above them. Webby had already begun to claw at Hikaru's skull and her sharp, pointy legs were quite painful as they dug through his hair and scratched him. Hikaru wanted to do something about this and investigate the explosion, but as he reached up his hands to grab Webby a guy who looked older than his with black hair and brown eyes approached him. He wore a long black coat, a black shirt, black pants, and a pair of black boots.
Hikaru froze as the guy asked, “Hey, I presume you are GAME_Changer?” to which Hikaru nodded and said, "Yes, yes, I am. I would like to think you're Stranger, but before you say anything else, please do note it's spelled 'Game_Changer'." Hikaru wished to make sure the guy knew him properly by his game tag name. It was not too much to ask. He then lowered his arms because it was embarrassing and smiled at Stranger. Would they finally begin their game of capture the flag?
Next to Stranger Hikaru could see the three Digimon that his partner had brought with him. Under the current rules of the Cross Wire server everyone got three Digimon. Among Stranger's group was a four legged aquatic beast with spikes on its back. It appeared to be grumbling to itself like it hated the situation it was in. Then there was a strange alien looking creature with a big head, big antennae, big hands and a what looked like a ton of legs. It was clapping and smiling at Hikaru and made him feel slightly nervous. Finally, there was a giant blue crab waving at him. All of them looked very odd to him since his only encounter with Digimon thus far had been his own.
Word Count: 431 Summary: Hikaru waits for Stranger to come to them. While this happens he tries to deal with Webby who is scared by Keramon's energy sphere attack and claws at his head. During this time Stranger approaches Hikaru and they greet each other and their Digimon.

Scaring someone had not been their intention, but it seemed to have been what had happened. Gordon realized that when he saw the other guy and his Digimon. Gordon found it rather peculiar that there were only one Digimon to near this guy, but decided not to question it. “Yes, I am Stranger, and I will remember that.” Gordon said as the man corrected the way he had spelled his gaming tag. It wasn’t a bit deal, he had simply presumed that there would be need of some sort of emphasis on game, but it seemed like there was no such need.
“I apologize if my signal scared you. That was not my intention.” Gordon said as he noticed how the little Digimon on top of Game_Changer’s head were seemingly attempting to drill its feet into his head, and unusually painful procedure Gordon were sure of that. “I presume you are ready for the event?” Gordon asked casually it was better to make sure of those things now, than in the middle of the event.
“If you ladies are done talking, can we get going?” Gizamon asked rather impatiently, he wanted to get this event started. Not only because he wanted the amazing loot and all that stuff, but because he found it increasingly disturbing to watch two humans interact in such a way that Gordon and Hikaru were right now, it looked much too forced for his taste.
“Patience Orkos, we must let the humans get acquainted, it would do us no good to have them be strangers to one another.” Keramon said with a smile as he stood and looked at the humans. He found them fun and fascinating but also a bit bland and boring at times, he had to admit that this was one of those times but he would not try to quicken it.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever.” Gizamon grunted and glared at Hikaru and his own Tamer, Gordon. He said nothing more, for he knew that if he did Keramon would just tell him to be quiet once again, and he would rather not have to deal with Keramon again.

Hikaru listened to the man in black before him and answered, "Yes, I'm ready for this event and so is my trusted Wormmon Webby. She's the creature on my head." He patted Webby who closed her eyes and used her six little legs to climb down onto Hikaru's shoulder.
Gizamon was complaining after Stranger's introduction and Webby wanted to chide him along with Keramon who had just asked for his patience as the two humans did in fact get antiquated. She bounced up and down on top of Hikaru's shoulder and voiced, "Let my friend Hikaru say hello to the guy who's my friend. It isn't fair if he doesn't otherwise, even though I want to beat you to flag and win!"
Hikaru grabbed Webby by a spike on her back and lifted her off of it before kneeling down on one knee to set her on the ground. "If you're so eager to get the flag walk to it." He told her in a cocky manner as he stood up again.
Hikaru then looked into Stranger's black eyes and asked, "What's your real name? My little partner just blurted out my own without knowing." He crossed his arms and waited for a few moments. He did want to go and look for the flag right away, but if he could not trust Stranger entirely then there was no point in teaming up for this task.
Word Count: 236 Summary: Hikaru listens to the complaints from Stranger's Digimon, answers some of his questions, listens to Webby blurt out his name and issue a challenge to Gizamon and the rest of the Digimon present, and takes her off of his shoulder since she had managed to climb down there and was simply pestering now.
